We are all aware that the bitcoin is the last hope when the other altcoins including Ethereum are struggling to survive and even bitcoin has not had any massive pump as it's fighting hard to stay on $8,000 despite numerous fluctuations but will it help bitcoin if we just move our funds to bitcoin which we have invested into altcoin as it will increase the demand of bitcoin if everyone can do that as this will literally do what the whales have been doing to increase the price when they want by creating the demand.
Retail investors aren't that high in number that if they all shift to Bitcoin, it gonna have any lasting impact on the price. There might be a pump for a while but that would be all. Whales can manipulate and effect price. There is a reason they are whales, they have volume with themselves. Retail traders are small fishes in the market. Moreover, you can't make everyone shift. People have their own trading strategies and thus, effect on price would be minimal.

It will probably launch Bitcoin briefly, but if the price is really being manipulated by the whales, they will knock it down soon enough. However, such a thing would likely annihilate the altcoin market, and damage a lot of people along the way. I don't think it is a permanent solution for BTC price, and it might destroy the crypto industry.

From what I know if we shift our funds to bitcoin in large amounts, it will actually have a bad impact on the altcoin market itself. I more agree that the new adoption, not a transfer of funds. During this time if the bitcoin market goes up, the altcoin market also goes up, that's because of the new adoption. We saw yesterday that adoption of the technology blockchain by China has influenced the new adoption of all cryptos.
We can shift our funds to it, there is no bad by doing it I think, the thing not all the people will shift their funds in bitcoin so do not worry to altcoin market it will not fall, there will always be  traders that will stick to altcoin no matter what, and also those startup trader will choose altcoins rather than bitcoin.

Great idea. But the chances in this are just 0% and 100% no more back up though. Let us say that bitcoin demand increases considering what you offered it will be all fun and games until the price the drops. I don't think there will be no other way than cashing out your money till it gets worse 'cause there are no other options existing anymore, no alts means you taking away your 50% chance of opportunity.

I think we can if all of us do it I mean if we have a huge fund with all bitcoin user do it because the supply was reduce. It was also depend on the demand of the bitcoin because if there are a least demand then it will dump and dump because there are no good demand goes.

It is just like saying altcoins should stop existing because shifting our attention to bitcoin would mean that altcoins will no longer have any money being added to their market cap, so there will be less demand for altcoins, thereby jeopardizing their existence and also will never make any investment that we have built in bitcoin to yield any positive growth.

The great thing about your suggestion also is that the price will always pump since people will always make demand for it, so even if we see some dumping, it would not stay long like some dump use to stay long before the market corrects back to its previous value before the dump which will create confidence in people nit to always panic anytime that they get one.

Well then get ready for altcoin blood bath and bitcoin to the moon :-P
I think no one has this idea how the market will react.
Sure there would be an alt-coin blood bath,
And OP is just thinking about making a single crypto to continue and to increase it's price.
If you only believe in BTC then this would be your decision but most of us also wants the alt-coin to survive ,
So this kind of theory wouldn't really happen even in an alt-coin blood bath there are some who would risk to buy them in order to gain profit once they come back.

It is an interesting idea but this market is really different man. Cheesy If most people try this method, the result may not be as we expected too. Maybe there would be a backlash and Bitcoin would even start to go the opposite way.

Massive movements that move suddenly will only occur in a short time because the pump will be saturated and then the market will move massively to altcoin to find a higher percentage. This also applies to the stock market in general. none of the interconnected entities can be quickly separated and weed out the others. what makes sense is a gradual increase in the pattern of adoption of real developments. This will encourage organic movement. So the condition of just moving it will not have serious effects.

That will definitely increase in the demand of Bitcoin and the downfall of the Altcoins. But this won't be possible because many investors still need to invest on some good and potential Altcoins for a long-term. Basically, if we make it to this point, we will still regret the impacts that it will have in altcoins generally.

There are already huge money attached to bitcoin as compared to the cryptocurrencies. There are many factors that is believed to affect the pricing  of bitcoin on the market but basically is all about the demand and supply. Anytime there is high demand for bitcoin, the price definitely goes up. It is not surprising that the trading volume of bitcoin always dominate the market.

These are general terms and information about bitcoin which everyone is aware of,  but what I am trying to understand is that if we small and mid level investors shift our funds to bitcoin then will it pump the demand and help increasing bitcoin?

I am sure bitcoin will always dominate the market but it should not be like other altcoin dies and bitcoin dominates the market by attached to a low value.

Most likely it will increase the demand if more people will shift funds to btc. In that case, the price will go up as the demand increases. It can help in a way but it will also depend on the volume of funds shifted and the number of people shifting their funds.

First and foremost, who said Ethereum is struggling to survive on the market?  Considering the market volume of Ethereum and its market cap, it simply tells you that Ethereum can't be classified as struggling to survive. The price fluctuations are just the nature of the whole cryptocurrency ecosystem and its not a sign of struggle to survive.

It will surely help bitcoin to avoid suffering and struggling with the same problem of being completely vanished inside the crypto space for the more users, the more the market cap will do good and the adaption will be massive as bitcoin aims it to be. The user's behavior affects largely the market, they could either bring it down or pull it up so this will be a good idea, the morethe users the higher the pump could be and will make it hard to see the fall of bitcoin.

well , let's make a imagine.
if we do like what u say, move all of our funds to btc , of course it will make some sentiment on market, but on otherside, people will think to sell their btc, since a quick demand of bitcoin suddenly come. and for the last , i am not sure the price will raising.

Yes, if everyone sells their altcoins and invests in Bitcoin, then the Bitcoin price will be skyrocket! But I don't think many people will do it. Because most of the altcoin holders are in huge lose, altcoins are having a very bad time this year. For example, a few months ago, some people bought Ethereum at 330$ and now it's only 177$! Soz they won't sell it to buy 174$ worth Bitcoin!

Yeah, it will work only when the investment is high but by this act of selling altcoin for buying bitcoin will affect the altcoin market and altcoins dump start  Cheesy so the only thing which we can do now is waiting for the right time when bitcoin start pumping.

I don't think so it will help, mostly alts are in dead zone, people who invested in alts will not going to sell them in such bad market conditions.
Even though this will happen it will not going to help remarkable rise in price of bitcoin, the bitcoin price rise is determined through USD so the trade in USD to BTC will help more to increase the price instead of alts.

Remember with supply and demand concept and this thing all be happen to altcoin as well. Simple put, if the demand of bitcoin is increasing the its price will goes up also and it otherwise. So, with this scenario you will have answer to your concern.

Even, I just thinking that a lot of investor who has known about bitcoin they will be easily to move their money on it. Moreover for those who has experienced losing a lot of moeny when investing on altcoin then bitcoin is the last choice for them to play safe when investing in cryptocurrency. Just curious, have you try it?

Yes I did the same I have shifted my funds to bitcoin as I have cashed out from some new coins,  stable coins and reputed coins like Ripple,  stellar and Ethereum and shifted them all to bitcoin leave a small portion of new coins as a result my wallet consist of 90% bitcoin and remains 10% new coins and this has helped me to play safe.

Not really because a healthy industry needs to have a competition in order to survive. If you remove competition even in cryptocurrency possible investor would not come to them because no higher profit can be gain without having a risk.

It is a good idea,  honestly any project can integrate Bitcoin to it.  It is that these developers are so greedy and wanted the funds for themselves.  Who cares if altcoin decline, any legit project can migrate and integrate Bitcoin.

Those who invested in altcoins are those who believe that you should not put all your eggs in one basket and you should widen your portfolio to good coin, they will have a second thought of doing that, what we need is new people coming in, old people who used to be investors and return investing again, not transferring our other assets to one asset.
We can only grow if we cover more territories and new people coming in the market and new country and new companies accepting Cryptocurrency.

If we transfer all our funds to Bitcoin, I don't think it's a good idea. Exchanges plaform is no longer available, Prices of altcoins will be totally zero. And I'm sure the price of bitcoin will rise dramatically as no other coins will be exchanged here. And the worst that can happen is that the bitcoin can be pumped and dumped as well and can be totally worthless.

As for me, it still depends on the amount of funds that we're going to shift but it could also affect altcoins negatively at the same time. If our funds couldn't compete equally with whales, I'm sure that it still couldn't affect the whole situation of Bitcoin but it could only be a short pump. Balance is still necessary so both altcoins and Bitcoin will survive.

Yeah, why wouldn't it? Demand and supply. If you everyone moves to bitcoin, the demand for bitcoin will rise. Since there are limited number of coins circulating in the market, then the price will eventually start to increase. But then again, there are also people holding bitcoin and waiting for an opportunity to sell it and make some profit. Once the price rises, those people will start dumping their coins. So yeah, in the short run, it will cause some massive fluctuation, but in the long run it will tend to go up.

See its the simple rule of economics that when demand is high the price always rise and same is the case with bitcoin as when we will shift our funds in buying btc the prices will rise automatically but what will be the condition of altcoins in the market and what will actually happens no one knows. But we need majority of people to buy btc in order to create a global demand as bunch of people could not affect the prices but they also need to hodl it for a long time instead of selling immediately when price rises as it will create dump situations again and whats the fun of it.So we need to be calm.

If we do that, then altcoin market will die, the price of bitcoin will really go up if the demand comes from new users, bitcoin market will have a larger volume, and that will make bitcoin market will improve again.

For example if we do your idea, maybe the price of bitcoin will go up by a few percent, but what is the condition for altcoin after that? is it possible that some altcoin will meet its end.

Do we really need a large pump?
Why?
Isn't this price already a huge one?

We got so greedy because we saw bitcoin take another ATH last December 2017. Now, we want it back there. But that is not how the market should.
For me, I saw that number as a fake one. This now is real.
It took a slow increase but it is worth it. That way, they wont say it will just be another correction later on.

it might indeed help bitcoin, but no one would do that if there were no hard guarantees or the certainty of bitcoin would grow up. every trader will make an exchange if indeed they make a profit there. and bitcoin is currently going up, if we have some altcoin to exchange with bitcoin right now I feel it's not an profitable.
That is right, how about let bitcoin let it be. I don't think that idea will work or make the entire market getting worst like the flooding of red colors. You can see what happens to the market now and we consider that it is a healthy market because we almost see more green than red color which indicates raising all the price of the coins. No harmful to the market is accumulating all coins that possible of having potential coins to invest. Avoid panic selling.
That idea is just like most projects are usually doing, they are creating hype to make public panic buying, they are buying their own tokens to add users to their platform, which for me is not a good idea, if your platform is good, and you have a real development with what you are doing, then users and price will follow no matter what.

I don't think that any good outcome of you will as like, how much you have invested your money? is that a huge amount? If you have a lot of money then it could be a factor but I have a lot of confusion that a group of people who want to control and volatile of this platform for their own interest, they have a large amount of Bitcoin and other altcoin investment, this is why our little amount of investment doesn't bring any positive impact on this market, on the contrary to this point, there is a chance to get Bitcoin price boom and the altcoin market will get collapsed, so at first, we have to look forward to a calm situation and a little stability of Bitcoin price.

I think your idea is good and can work with a strategy to increase the price, however, betting exclusively on BTC is always risky, somehow the rest of Altcoins give balance to the ecosystem and have helped create niche markets.

A bet for a massive use must be the exit, important steps have been taken, but there is still much to do, when people can use Bitcoin and other Altcoins routinely, we will see the market valuation multiplied dozens of times.

there is a possibility of that happening if we are able to move the funds we have on several altcoins and are able to convert them back to bitcoin, then it can increase the demand for bitcoins if everyone is able to do it simultaneously. but it is certainly able to influence the altcoin price movement, the altcoin market will become red because of the large number of people selling it

It's better to accumulate bitcoin using another funds and not to convert your alts assets to hold, if you dare doing that since this thread has been
opened surely you regret the move as bears trend hits bitcoin. Avoid to make decisions without supplemental guide or patterned that will lead you
to much lesser risk type of investment, find time to pick or look for good alternatives since the market is red right now.

Alts can bring good bounce if you do research not bitcoin alone but also those quality projects from CMC.
Going off my that we can assume that every coin would become obsolete in the future, and there's no point in holding investments. If there's a sudden shift from altcoins of course we'll see the prices of bitcoin going up. A huge portion of the market has just become nothing and bitcoin dominance would be scarily high.

But it's similar to blinding yourself to be able to smell better (bit of a weird example, I know). You'd much rather the 2 thriving market sectors then just a singular one, and bitcoin dominance doesn't need to be insanely, insanely high like in my example.

easy to say, but hard to do)
by moving funds to bitcoin from eth, means that folks should sell their eth at current price - it means  take a huge loss
no wonder no many will agree to do that, especially if there is no warrantee that after that bitcoin will go to sky to compensate losses..
so easy to say, but not possible to do.

Not your Keys, Not your Bitcoins
Every little trader has some kind of weight in the market no matter if you trade Bitcoin against fiat or altcoins. The basic law of supply and demand says that if you capture from supply(eg. you sell ETH for BTC) and the demand stays the same, the price will increase as there are the same number of buyers fighting over a lower amount of Bitcoin.

It means you don't think about altcoin, if you divert funds from altcoin to bitcoin, then the dominance of the bitcoin market will be even higher. We already know in the market that bitcoin dominance is already high, if everyone does that maybe the value of bitcoin will go up. What about altcoin? I think we need more mass adoption by FIAT.

What about altcoins? Nothing, let them die. Most altcoins are nothing but a schemes that are supposed to benefit their devs. Some are blatant scams that still linger in the space, years after exposure. Is there a point to having all of this foul smell dragging behind Bitcoin? IMO there is not.
The math is simple, if the money from altcoins would go to Bitcoin it would significantly pump it and probably start another bubble. That's probably the only downside of this whole idea as bubbles are always much worse than a gradual, steady growth.

The Alt coin investors are invested in Alt coins because they hope that they could repeat the massive "profits" that early Bitcoin investors got when they invested in Bitcoin in 2009. So most of them bought Alt coins very early when the price was still low and now they sitting back and hoping that the Alt coin prices will be going to the Moon.

A lot of these Alt coin supporters will not sell their hoard to bump the Bitcoin price, because of the above reason. It will be much better for Bitcoin supporters to go out there and to increase natural Bitcoin adoption to "pump" the price.  Wink

yes indeed, bitcoin is my savior because if all the altcoins that I hold are the bitcoins that I trade because besides the price is quite stable bitcoin fans are still very much, because that bitcoin is my favorite coin where altcoin is all red, but if bitcoin is experiencing dump then I put a stop loss in order to minimize losses.

I'll give 1 tip that will help you not to worry about those altcoins you mentioned; SWITCHED TO BITCOIN.

I also experienced this before, worrying on some of my altcoins before, but I decided to cut loss. Sold some of my altcoins and I added more Bitcoins on my bag.

You will just increase your loss in investment if you convert all your altcoins into Bitcoin, only the long-term Bitcoin holders will benefit from what you intend to do. I get OP's intention to help Bitcoin price to grow but converting all your altcoins into Bitcoin is not the right  thing to do unless you are holding a coin that is about to become shitcoin.

Is it a good idea for this platform? I don't think so. if it will happen then cryptocurrency platform will get destroyed soon, without other cryptocurrencies, it's really difficult to maintain this system, people love investing in a new project so they want ICO/IEO or something like this, I think it might turn a worse scenario according to your suggestion, Bitcoin requires a lot of new investors not a short term support, when we move to Bitcoin then the price will increase for a certain time and in the meantime some people get the benefit of this situation, so it's not the solution for the sustainable development, I think the declaration of legal payment system will get it high for the sustainable price.

The chart of altcoins will be in red. The bearish market will come to altcoin and bullish for bitcoin due to the sudden increase in demand.

This may also become the reason for the end of altcoins, including popular altcoins will die if the community will pull out their altcoins all at once. This may cause a terrible situation in the crypto market.

I mean, it'll definetly increase the price of Bitcoin and pump that upwards in the market, but there are 2 consequences and problems that will come of that.

1. Not everyone wants all their money in Bitcoin, especially in the current market and it will be very hard for you to convince whales to shift all their funds over to a specific crypto.

2. Other people have investments in altcoins and when they shift those funds over we will see a huge dump in those markets. No doubt it'll be all red in the altcoin side of things

It's the same cycle that took place with every crypto market craze. Whales aren't there to just move to a coin and hold. When Bitcoin soars, the wallets of those holding Bitcoin soar too so the smartest thing to do is buying another altcoin whose price declined. This always happens and that's the way markets get balanced..

And it's not us who must convince whales to invest their money in an alt or in Bitcoin. They need good enough news to do so, and remember: if you ever get the chance of convincing one to make a move, as a whale it is highly likely they will one day make the opposite move too. One doesn't sit on a bag of money forever. They'll have to cash out or move their money again to gain even more profit.

Bitcoin's core value is money. It's not an investment per se, and it has a better stock-to-flow ratio than fiat. So, there's no need to panic. You have to be patient. Wait a few years until fiat got another crisis, and your Bitcoin could worth 2x or more than today.

If you need to invest, lending is probably a better option.

In my opinion transferring all assets owned to bitcoin so that the price can go up is not a good decision. So it seems that
other coins are not important, this is not a wise move. We must find another way to raise the price of bitcoin, not by
sacrificing altcoins. I don't want to do it, the thing is the way it will not make cryptocurrency bright in the future. In fact,
it will create new problems, let us think smart about this problem.
It's not that simple anyway. However, there are quite a number of potential altcoins, for example, ETH, XRP, EOS, XLM, etc. that are worth holding back. A fairly deep price reduction on most altcoins creates a great opportunity to bounce as high as possible if there is a big pump. Besides, how much altcoin does it have that it can increase the demand for BTC in such a way that it pumps? not that easy, except that you are whales or market maker.

You'll just be inflating the prices in the short term while doing nothing to help in the long term. Bitcoin needs more adoption and use. If you can't convince the general public to be using it, it wouldn't be beneficial for us to just purchase more Bitcoins for the sake of inflating the demand. It isn't feasible for us to purchase Bitcoin just to increase the price either.

Tbh that’s what’s really happening with bitcoin and altcoin anyway for years now. When bitcoin market feels lame and inactive, most of the funds are lingering within the altcoin market and other ventures. I do believe that whenever an asset, including bitcoin and altcoins reach the end of their cycle, the funds are not lost but rather flow into some other assets. No money is sleeping for the investors, and to this notion, yes, it’s possible that we can just transfer the funds from the altcoin markets to bitcoin but prepare for the worst once people have already collected profits.

All crypto prices have been dropping , bitcoin is no different.

All throwing money at bitcoin will do , is lose more of your money.  Tongue

The last hope line, don't made me laugh,
Bitcoin has been intentionally limited, with LN (Banking) the so called solution.

You should be asking yourself ,
what altcoins can survive a massive price crash and continue on , without bankrupting the miners.
When you find an alt that can survive such a thing, you found the real survivor, and it is not bitcoin's pow multi-million dollar insanity.

Remember Bitcoin was supposed to be a payment system not a get rich quick ponzi bubble.
Why would you need to throw money at a payment system , answer is you would not need too.

Two possible things to happen if we ever switch our funds from altcoin to bitcoin

1. We will see a massive dump in the market that we have never seen. The demand will decrease and the market will only suffer,

2. Bitcoin will increase its demand but it will be limited. If ever that investors will switch their altcoins to bitcoin, then who's gonna take all altcoins? No buy orders will be bid if all investors will only invest in bitcoin.

You have your point but in your statement you are saying that we will just abandoned the other coins just to save the bitcoin as it is the only coins that is fighting right now despite numerous fluctuations.

If we are going to follow your opinion, the demand of bitcoin will surely increase and other coins/altcoins will start to die. Do you think it is a bright idea?

For me it's not as it is like we are going to monopolize the crypto market which is not good and we will end up losing our investment in the long run as others will surely use this opportunity to gain huge amount of profits especially the influential people like whales, exchanges and etc.

It will create a movement but with a lot os users, you don't need to do that.

Whales don't really invest all of their money into cryptocurrency.

They still have other investments to maybe other cryptocurrencies or stocks and I am not really seeing whales reinvesting again since they are just all waiting, maybe trading some of them just circulating their investment and getting maximum profits they can get out of it. I don't know what whales are doing right now but we all want to maximize the profit we are getting and we can't just get that alone on Bitcoin.

Naturally, when we transfer all of our alts we are holding into Bitcoin then it can tremendously increase the demand and possibly influence the price higher. Now, the only problem is how to tell and how to convince all people holding alts to do this suggestion. The market is getting bigger and the people in crypto is steadily increasing. And, of course, people are also looking at the risks involved. When they think that Bitcoin's bearish mood has not yet bottomed out then entering at this stage may not be the best idea. I am sure though that we can eventually weather this temporary station where Bitcoin is at so let's just relax, continue watching the market while maybe drinking some beer or for some coffee or tea.

And it’s not considered as healthy market if we will only make grow the top rake currency when the altcoins will fall hardly

To be real, a large rise in price of bitcoin could have a negative effect on it's age. For a balanced growth, bitcoin along with the good altcoins should have a gradual increase in price that is backed by the adoption by new users. Bringing in new users would be the best thing for bitcoin. Though putting all your saving in bitcoin could be a profitable move for yourself.

If we were to shift our funds from altcoin to altcoin surely that will create a huge demand and sudden price pump but it will be considered as a "bubble". Plus that the pump we will create in a sudden will surely be gone in a moment too whenever the last of fund shifter is done buying bitcoin. Altcoins is still an important part of cryptocurrency too and it helps bitcoin a lot.

It could create a pump in the market, but I don't think it would last. Doing so what you have suggested would indeed increase market value of Bitcoin, but crash and probably remove altcoins in the market, which is bad in the long term. Altcoins somehow still help bitcoin's market to grow through trades, exchanges, etc. from bitcoin to altcoins. If no altcoins exist, bitcoin would only be exchanges to USD, or be used for transfers, which would slow down the market. Sooner or later, it would be no use, people would lose interest, its value won't grow and people may abandon it one point in time.

Technically in an investment platform, the demand is determined by the market cap of a certain asset. They need each other in a sense that there is a competition among the rest. This competition is by then, determining the demand and market price of each asset. In comparable to cryptocurrency, if all will be transferred to bitcoin, no competition will happen and the market might freely deciding the market price of bitcoin.

It will not help a lot. Even we shift our funds, some whales might consider buying more alts that time since it's cheaper, and I doubt if many will really buy back BTC when we do that, some might just waiting for us to sell their holdings. This is why whales manipulate the market, they do it without many people known it as if it just a playtime for them to buy it for them at discounted price again.

This is what happens when people notice the real value is in Bitcoin. Altcoins had their boom when Bitcoin was pumping and people were fooled by altcoin gains that could go from 0 to 500% in days. Bitcoin with its 1000% a year gains looked weak compared to that and people are greedy. Now all the bagholders are thinking about dumping everything and going back to Bitcoin which isn't that great because when you lose 80% of your investment the worst thing you can do is panic sell. The time for panic selling was when you were 30% down.

If that will happen in my opinion the market will never be the same Bitcoin will sure pump so much if all Altcoin holders would shift it to Bitcoin but what may happen to altcoin, But if we are like whales that would eventually give their all to this matter but actually if I remember correctly I have watched a Youtuber once and he said that if the market is bear and the price of bitcoin is going down then the pretty smart thing to do is to just close your wallet and just sleep and revert your mind to other stuff or just sell all Altcoins and revert it to Bitcoin, Because Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and even though you had given a portion of Altcoin back to Bitcoin Altcoin will just stay but if Bitcoin would be gone in the market so do Altcoins.

We need a lot more people to participate in buying and holding Bitcoin as a long term asset. We need everyone involved, including the currently unbanked people. Only when we get the really big mass adoption and widespread holding of Bitcoin will we see its true prowess and power and the more and more people own and hold like they do Gold, the less likely it is to be manipulated to this level of volatility, So we need a lot more widespread holders of Bitcoin to emerge now.

The question op is really asking is whether bitcoin will go up if a bunch of us buy it, and whether altcoins are sold to finance this is irrelevant.  I have no clue what bitcoin would do in such a case, but more buying usually means a higher price assuming there are more buy orders than sell orders.

This is yet another gloomy thread about the state of bitcoin and alts, but the situation is nowhere as bad as some may lead us to believe.  Everything is just down right now, but things can and will improve.  If people give up on crypto, all the coins are going to tumble.  I don't think any of us want that despite how bleak things may seem.

Yes you got it what I am trying to ask as the situation quite difficult to understands as there are two ways to look at it wherein the first one being everything is low right now and things will improve it's just a matter of time, other way is little scary thought wherein we have not seen any major transition in the value of altcoins from long time and probably it's back to it's original value after unexpected pump during the bull run at the end of 2017, let's hope for the best as 2020 might play a vital role and things will change for better.

Edit: Just read the thread once again and found out I actually misunderstood. Re-writing now and adding a follow-up edit later..

Edit 2, with proper reply: The market would be, indeed, influenced by these moves. Moving from alts to Bitcoin means selling alts and buying BTC instead. Therefore, it means negatively influencing the price of the alts you're holding and positively influencing BTC's. This happens a lot when those insane 2017-like price changes take place, so it's something usual and the same thing applies for a vice-versa movement: moving from Bitcoin to alts means selling Bitcoin and buying alts, so the opposite effect takes place on its price.

I think no one has this idea how the market will react.

I think the history of Bitcoin & alts sharp price movements are enough proof to show how markets would react. But it needs enough volume to influence the entire market and not just one exchange, so good luck with that unless you're holding millions of $.

-----

No. All moving funds helps with is creating fake volume, and unless you have millions nobody would care about your transactions. Otherwise, you'd have those whale-watchers who do care about the big sums and would play the markets based on the moves. If the inputs/outputs are unknown though, again, it doesn't help at all.

Artificially changing an asset's price does not make it stronger at all. In fact, it's quite the opposite. It's short-lived and even if you were able to easily influence it, you would only be able to profit in the short term.*

Whales are moving huge sums around almost every day (if not daily, I don't really check these transactions often at all), and whenever a huge amount is sent to an exchange wallet address, the speculators will guess the whale is about to sell. In case the opposite happens (the money is coming from an exchange wallet to a private one), the opposite thing is being speculated (they are either about to hold or spend their huge amounts).

Therefore, shifting funds all day long would only result in a lot of small transaction fees summed up for no visible (or even if visible, they're short term) results.

*You can profit off the influence on the short term only if you know how to handle the markets well enough. And still, it isn't worth it in my opinion.
