the problem with the merit system is that it creates some kind of bitcoin cheerleading arsecrawler community in this forum, that is why i initially rebelled against it. because this forum becomes less about cryptoeconomics less about project development less about decentralisation and more about arsecrawling and bitcoin cheerleading

there were also many other legendary users who opposed it and then got red dusted by the perfectionists that wanted this reward system

Adding more systems like this can make our forum very complex and it might destroy the forum because of your shitty suggestion.

Focusing to much on suggesting systems because it's easy to rant and make a content like this. Then why don't you focus on improving first your knowledge in cryptocurrency before ranting some things about in this forum. Maybe if i ask you something logically about crypto, you can't answer it.

Are you not wondering? Only you Newbie ranting some things about this forum and blaming some high rank members because they didn't giving you merits, such a kid. You know, you're just entering the kingdom of the crypto warriors, if you're feeling arrogant and righteous then create your own forum, crypto warriors will not adjust to some villagers.

Seem its not good idea  . I already spent all working time to read forum and really interested in investing cryptocurrencies.

Yes, man, you're new to the forum, so you are not completely understanding how the merit system works.
1.- Merit sources are not the only sources of merits, people earn merits and sent to others.
2.- Merits have to come from somewhere, everyone with a certain rank was given some merits, when those are gone, then, even legendaries have to earn merits in order to give them to others.

Sometimes I am shocked about how many users want the forum to take the shape of a social media. The "thank" system you are proposing seems similar to the "like" system in Facebook, Instagram, and so. This is not social media, man. This is a place for discussion and earning knowledge. If, by doing so, you can rank-up, well, this is a "plus" only, but every newcomer can visit, learn and participate in most of the boards here.
You don't need to rank-up to learn or discuss in here, so, why the rush?
Again, you've said that: you're new, and maybe you don't completely get the system function yet.
Just chill and participate in here, the merit system is kind of "organic", and if you are a participative, intelligent, creative, useful user, you will be rewarded.

Are the merit sources the only people that can give merit? Do you think people don't look at them and see who the merits are given to?
Go to any thread on Bitcoin Discussion and try to find a post that is not repetitive or has a decent use of language. You probably won't be able to find any, if any at all. That's the reason why it's so hard for people to rank up. It's literally impossible for me to discuss anything there and expect a response at all.

May I suggest a better way to eradicate this problem? Remove every bounty campaign and every campaign that doesn't hold their user accountable for their post. I would guarantee that we won't even need the merit system at all.

Interesting idea. The merit system is certainly not perfect, and requires positive changes.

Yeah right, you're new to the forum, you've just made your account today and you know about merit, merit sources, how much merit is given and you even have ideas on how to "improve" the system, by letting everyone rank with useless posts merited by useless shitposters.

If you have indeed researched this whole merit system you would probably have stumbled also on another 100 threads with the same dumb idea, and it would have prevented you to start another one.

This isn't a decentralised forum. Your idea isn't decentralised either. You're just making merit free for everyone. You might as well just get rid of the merit system if we were going to go along with your suggestion because merit would become worthless. People would just give hundreds of merits to their alts or "friends" / "cousins" / "neighbours" etc to rank up. Completely flawed suggestion.

If you are new to this forum, why you have so much concern about merit? Just learn about bitcoin and use this forum as a source of knowledge, Except.. you're just an alt.
Anyway, merit is just like other reputation points. It's common in other forums. If you can solve this puzzle, you'll get Nobel prize in the online forum category.

Don't get me wrong but merit (although abused by some) is the perfect way to get rid of account farmers and such. The suggestion you're imposing can lead to more abuse. But why? People with hundreds of dummy account can thank one person, granting him merit. And merit, like respect, should be earned -- not given.

What a pratt post - how much more decentralised can the merit system get? With 100 or so merit sources, and most of the decent posters having sMerit to award, there must be over 1,000 sMerit awarders. If you can't please one of them, then you need to look to your posting skills.

It must have some kind of control. If its "decentralized" then someone can create 100 new accounts and just spam merit which would be bad, right ? Also if there is a restriction for example only member+ can give merit then it would encourage account trading which is also bad...

Huh! Another suggestion and this time even before getting a good grip of the system. I see this is your 6th post, assuming you do not have much idea how the forum really works. Isn't it too early for you to make a conclusion for you?

Forget about the system loss better focusing on the gains. Merit is making the forum a better place, giving the members a motivation to think more than once before creating a post. You can not make everything automated. How would you define the variables? A human brain will always be gillions times more creative than a robot.

It is difficult for a reason but not impossible. You need to work for it and that's the whole idea behind the merit system. No time for lazy posting anymore.

We are here having difficult time managing one feature (merit), now on top of it you are suggesting another one (Thanks). Honestly speaking, I do not see to bring another layer in between merit and actions from the members. No from me, sorry.

Im just new to forum and as far as I know, merit is given to quality post around forum by ppl who got sMerit. However, it just come from few ppl as Merit sources and it depend on many factors for giving Merit such as a friend want merit, so just give him some or sell and trade Merit between ppl. Merit system is abused by ppl and its all centralized, control by ppl. This is funny while forum is all about cryptocurrencies and focus on decentralized.

Its only few ppl done it. As a newbie, I know how difficult to earn Merit and the feeling when u make quality post then no attention from Merit sources. So can I suggest an idea to turn Merit system to decentralized ?

+ My suggestion is about "Thanks" system to make Merit system become decentralized  that everyone can give Thanks to others so all quality post can be judge by everyone. All merit will be decentralized by exchanges from Thanks to Merit.
+ Every post on forum wil have Thanks button for ppl evaluation and give Thanks. Thanks System isn't control by admin, mod or anyone. Everyone can give Thanks to quality post.
+ Then from number of Thanks, ppl can exchange to merit for rank up.

Its my idea, If you think its bad idea, just give your opinion and discuss. I just want to contribute for all ppl equal and encourage newbie contributing more quality post.
