They haven't even started accepting BCH - which is/was their "next planned release"; So I wouldn't wait for them. Plus, I lost all the confidence I had on them after the ICO failure and the addition of the russian mining ICO.

they're a bitcoin wallet. they should be incorporating all of bitcoin's features first before even thinking of adding other coins. at this stage it looks like they're going down a pretty damn weird path.

when even vocal obstructionists like coinbase and bitpay are making noises about implementing segwit, there's no excuse for anyone else not to any more. i guess people might be lulled into doing nothing with the current fee situation but there's no way of telling how long that's gonna hold.

i dunno about the ios version, but android mycelium gives you full control over your fees. segwit will make a reduction, but not a vast one. let's see if the launch of the core wallet does anything to inspire segwit uptake. mycelium are gonna be left behind if they don't do something.

Since when does blockchain.info wallet have segwit support?
I can't find anything about it anywhere, only articles from last year that they'll support Segwit and BCash in 2018
They don't. Not sure what OP is talking about.

. Even Blockchain.info is using segwit, which has given it an edge over other wallets.

Till now Mycellium seems like not supporting segwit which is pretty disappointing. Even Blockchain.info is using segwit, which has given it an edge over other wallets. Mycellium is one of my favourite mobile wallet which works quite smoothly on android and IOS. But still high transaction fees on it is discouraging me to use it anymore.

I also have this very same question from the Mycelium forks. It is the best android wallet one could have in mobile with great features of customized fees but with the fees going to ever increasing rates we need bech32 addresses to be inculcated in Mycelium. LN is still a far long way to come but segwit is already sweeping around users. Such a large app not supporting it gives a pretty bad impression. Even I will have to quit using it if they continue not using segwit addresses.

I think electrum already supports segwit. I am also meaning to switch to a segwit wallet, but I really like mycelium's ease of use. I dont know if it's only me but I feel they are getting too greedy, ads and promotional material is increasing in the wallet, while they aren't implementing new features.

I had a fiddle with the Electrum phone wallet. It felt desperately clunky to me in comparison to Mycelium but maybe I'm just an old stick in the mud.

It would be very interesting to hear how much work it took from wallet developers who've already implemented it. Fees must surely be the number one concern of all users at present and ignoring the prime band aid for it doesn't make a lot of sense. Or rather any.

When an established phone wallet goes Segwit I'll make the switch from Mycelium. It's very strange how they're busy squandering all the good will they built up over the years. They have a great position that isn't being capitalised on in the right way at all. There are very useful features that don't exist elsewhere.

...but the fee is really high due to large input in my bitcoin address.
Have you tried using the newest version? There are a lot of tx fee to choose from. I used 61 sat/byte most of the time.
I couldn't trust Samourai Wallet since its still beta version better to wait that they will officially released their wallet, It can be still experience of some bugs and glitches from beta version.
Since Tryninja not having any issue with beta version you can use it but just deposit only small amount, ill be stay using wallet which is safe and well-known wallet than using new beta version of wallet..
I see. I think I will still stick to Mycelium. Just watch out with the default fee your using in Mycelium next time, TryNinja.

Mycelium developers no plan to support segwit. I was searched but didn't found that they are planning to upgrade their wallet with segwit support.
Well i'm still using their wallet and i am not having any issue yet but the fee is really high due to large input in my bitcoin address.

What mobile wallet are you using right now? I'm thinking of switching too. Just curious. I noticed this too.
Samourai Wallet. It's still in Alpha but it's working flawless and they support Segwit.
I'll try that one.
You don't look up the tx fee you're paying before sending out transactions? That's one of baddest mistakes you can do.
Yeah. The funny thing is that Mycelium allows you to use a super low fee if you want. What would you expect from a Bitcoin Cash troll? lol
Yep. They do. You can even pay for as low as 0sat/byte. Lol. Or just eat your money up with the highest tx fee as default. That's why I always look with the fee that I'm going to pay.

Looks like they are busy supporting an altcoin and russian ICO's instead of upgrading their wallet for the new real Bitcoin upgrades Smiley

I already stopped using Mycelium a long time ago because of this kind of behavior.

Any chance Segwit is going to be supported by Mycelum soon? It could make a viable difference right now, especially with the ongoing network congestion and horrible fee issues.

And when Lightning Network becomes active on the main net, are there any plans for Mycelium to integrate that, too?
