I didnt realise that Electrum would only show BTC I thought it did all the BIP standards of  (BIP32/BIP39/BIP44)?
Electrum is a BTC only wallet... so it can only show BTC.

Also... the BIP's are "Bitcoin Improvement Proposals"... ergo BIP32, BIP39 and BIP44 are all actually Bitcoin orientated... that fact that some Altcoin's choose to implement/mimic similar functionality does not mean that a "BIPxx compatible" wallet is "multicurrency".

If you need to be able to see Altcoin activity, you'll either need to track down the forked versions of Electrum that a lot of Altcoin devs/projects created specificially for their project... or use a "multicoin" wallet like Coinomi...

As I understand it I cant re-setup the wallet in Ledger Live with the 24 word seed without a nanoS or nanoX device neither of which I have

Correct.  If the information is that critical you can buy a Ledger Nano S, restore it with the same seed phrase, and connect it to Ledger Live.

If you remember all the coins you traded you can use other tools to restore your transactions.  For ETH and any ERC20 tokens you can use MyEtherWallet.  You can restore your ETH/ERC20 transactions by using the same seed phrase and passphrase.  But don't enter your seed on the online version.  Instead, you should download the latest release from their github repository, and run it off the hard drive of a clean computer.

Am I chasing a ghost here maybe?

Did LedgerLive and NanoS actually do in wallet trades / swaps approx 18 months ago?

You can see all your transactions associated with your addresses in any explorer or in other wallet like Electrum, and that means anything that you send or received before on all your addresses in ledger.
When ledger added Swap feature they just used  third party provider Changelly and any transaction done using them will also be seen same as any other transaction you made.

Doing taxes on Ledger Live app you can just go to Settings  - Operation History and Save CSV file for your account(s), or you can go to Accounts ⋯  and Export operation history.
Either way you will get the same CSV file for dealing with your taxes.

Thanks you for your reply.

I do not know any of the addresses in order to look them up on the block chain.  I no longer have Ledger Live installed or have the NanoS wallet.  All i have left is the 24 word seed from when I did have it.

This articale say that Ledger only introduced Swaps on 10/13/2020

Is this true?

If this is the case then I wont have any trade/swap history from my Ledger Nano from 2019.

Yes, Electrum will import all bitcoin transactions affiliated with the address from your Ledger, but that's all.  None of the altcoin transactions you may or may not have done on Ledger Live will be visible in Electrum.

If you had a "hidden" (Bip39 passphrase) account on your ledger, you'll have to enter the passphrase as an extension.  When entering the seed, click on the "Options" button and select the "Bip39," and if you have a passphrase, select "Extension."

I no longer have my Ledger Nano S but I do have my 24 word phrase for my Nano S wallet.

All the accounts are empty but I need the trade history from the wallet and its accounts for tax reporting purposes.

As I understand it Electrum is compaitble with the same standards as NanoS so should take the 24 word ledger nano seed and show my accounts but will it show the trade history for those accounts?

I dont really want to do all this if its not going to show my trades.

thanks in advance.
