I was wondering what others think, will 1 BTC ever have a value of 50k+?
Within the future like in 50-200 years from now.
There is of course a chance of it happening and I think that it will happen somewhere in the future but the real question is how long it is going to take. Within the future like in 50-200 years from now.
I will sell for sure if the price is going to be able to reach that high.
I think if we ever got bitcoin to go into 1000s then we would need to swap to some other method of mining. The energy wasted to secure the network even now is ridiculous, and for society's that have goals to be eco friendly bitcoin doesn't fit.
The network difficulty has been on a steady uptrend since Bitcoin’s creation. Expect mining to become more competitive as time goes on.

exactly! there are many threads where people are talking about insanely high price levels. it makes no sense to talk about $50,000 prices while we are far below the $700 price level. when we finally touch the $1000 price level again, then people can have a fantasy about reaching $2000 prices. and when we reached $2000 then people can speculate about reaching $3000. that makes sense. from below $700 to $50,000 doesn't make sense.

Possibly the price might reach $10000 which is something a realistic value when we consider its growing potential. But when price increases above certain limit the opposition and regulation towards bitcoin and other digital currencies increases. To avoid such situation its better to have a value within certain limits.
we all would love to see a huge rise for bitcoin that is beyond our wildest dreams. but prices like 50K and 10K are never going to be possible because there is never enough demand for bitcoin to reach such a high price.

Maybe, when the last one is mined. That would make it a 100% unproducable anymore, but other altcoins might interfere and that would be way in the future. In other words probably not in our lifetime.

It's not impossible, but it's not probable either. The chances of that happening as of what our current situation is, is it won't happen at all. Saying like "maybe in 50-200 years" isn't quite enough information to say that it "might" happen. There are so many possible events that may occur in that span of time and who knows if bitcoin is still alive and in circulation in that time? Just roughly 6 years ago, bitcoin has nearly no value and look at where it has gone right now. It's only been 6 years.

Sounds crazy and it is impossible to reached that price too. If that happens all those who save big amount of btc will be living just like a millionare.
thats true, i think i should be buying my bitcoins right now in order to start making big money soon, i think it will reach 50k in like 10 years or so

don't think we'll ever see the price go up that much. maybe that we can reach an ultimate ath of $10,000 at some point in the far future. but for that to happen we need wall street level traders to jump into bitcoin with their money.
To even reach 10k we would have to assume that all the whales with 1000s of coins have already dumped and spread out their coins to other individuals. I think for that kind of money we couldnt have any whales with crazy amounts of bitcoin or else it would be too easy to crash the market. Therefore to get to that high a price we need to wait over time and hope that the coins can diversify a bit. Id assume this would take at least 10 years, probably more though by which time bitcoin will be obsolete anyway.
whether the future whales are the current btc whales, or possibly wall street traders, it doesn't change anything. there will always be people with large amounts of coins. just look at the stock market. no difference at all when it comes to large holders.

Its something un realistic and prediction too is made without sense. If such a increase happens, truly it would be on the path of vanishing.

whoever holding even 1 bitcoin is wishing for huge price rises like this, i have heard $10,000 for bitcoin but this is a new price suggestion for 50K and i have to give the same opinion about it as the other prices, it is not going to happen in our lifetime.

50.000 dollars is a realistic figure in the next decade. Take into account that bitcoin is still a tiny 10 billion economy with potential to reach the trillion dollar marketcap, 50k dollars is perfectly reasonable if things go as expected.

Thanks for your feedback people, its interesting to see how most believe that BTC will reach a very high price. Probably investing in businesses with BTC's is one of the best things to do with it at the moment I guess.

Your probably looking for few percent of whole world economy to be done in Bitcoin only first. Quite possible even sonner than 50 years, but obviously the scaling in posible transactions/second would need to be much higher than current few per second. Without huge scaling, I dont believe speculation only (without actual utility) can lead to hundred times higher prices.

I'd say that there is a very slight chance of that happening, somewhat like just 0.01% or so. But why 50-200 years? Do you want your soul to enjoy the money? I'd say, hope for less but in near future, somewhat like 2020-2025.

I know its impossible to predict, I am pretty sure some crypto-currency will make it through the years but if thats BTC or some other Coin in the future is hard to say.
I think that is possible, because the price is always rise although sometimes goes down, it's normal and give trader opportunity to get profit by trading. BITCOINs devotee is increase every time and in my country necessity of bitcoin is always less that make the market positive I mean the price is always rise. I think it might be possible at some point in the future, but might might take over two decades for Bitcoin to reach that value, based on the value of Bitcoin doubling after every halving and assuming that is sustainable.
It could potentially reach that value in the next decade or something if a lot of people start getting into Bitcoin and start investing notable amounts.
