I agree with you. The arrest of the founder will give some other countries a reason to censor Telegram. This is a problem because I often use Telegram for my business needs. We can do many things that WhatsApp can't do such as sending and deleting messages, managing groups and messages, and having a bot system that helps run the business on autopilot.

This map is incorrect! I can see my country is highlighted as formally banned telegram but that's not true! Telegram is a fully legal app in my country.
Now coming back to the main question. If US starts banning telegram then a lot of its allies will follow the same path. That will then become disastrous for many telegram based cryptos as well.
Also it will push the altcoin market hard because a lot of altcoins use Telegram as their primary mode of connect and to run bots. But who cares about the shitcoins anyway!

Telegram is unregulated platform lots of scams happened there and can't blame the government to block that app sites lots of anomalies happening there. Plus they create their own crypto which makes them more questionable.

I think Telegram is going to encounter more difficulties from governments around the world because it's offering more than messaging, it's giving people a way to generate income and enabling transactions that the governments can't control. When I saw the news of Durov arrest at the airport today waken more suspicion in me that this could be related to alot of memecoin hype and projects that are hosted on telegram without proper checks to see if those coins are worth it for investors or are just a flight risk with just the hype and craze that leads to investors loses of money along the line, although the news of his arrest have not been made official.

Telegram case was been political motivated and target towards the CEO. They want to control his platform he built for himself and that beat the objective of his company vision. Just because he refused to censored information doesn't make him a bad person and if any other government want to continue in this path, the next person in line I will like to see arrested is Elon Musk. I have not see a crazy app as of recent as closed to his X platform and everyone used it including US to practice freedom of speech.
