since the first time you make this yarn until now the price is experiencing a very deep deterioration. last year we occupied the price at the peak and now live leaving $ 6,894.
There's no way to know, the price will rebound in the near future or not, which is obvious this month will be a month full of price ups and downs slowly. the market is seen In the nick of time to pump prices, so the price tends to rise slowly. however we should still believe, that the price will soon recover.

Hi I am new here and not used to the volatility Cry in the price, and will the market recover or is it due to selling during the festive season?  Huh

In other commodity trading, drops like this is indicative of a market slump and may result in panic selling. Is this a true reflection or is it normal?

This doesnt need to be asked. Bitcoin is bound to recover no matter how deep it will go. Why does everytime Bitcoin experience major or minor dip, weakhands tends to think that Bitcoin will die?
As far as I know, Bitcoin is suffering today due to regulations from different countries, limiting the usage of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency trading. Dumps and FUD contributes a little percentage as well.

Yes Bitcoin will recover but it will take a lot of time which I believe no one can predict the exact time. I will advice all bitcoin holders to hold strong and even buy more Because if you can remember as at early 2010 bitcoin price was at $0.08 if am not mistaken but revised has be the case today so it goes.

Mostly the results of the price deduction is mainly because of the manipulation of these whales and taking advantage of those newbies who basically panic sells when bitcoin dropped its price right after Christmas, but it does not mean it is because of some festivities. Some reasons would be because of these negative news like some countries banning Bitcoin or something. But I am confident Bitcoins price will soon recover, in fact it had just increased back to around $9k today, so let's just wait and hodl and see where this is going.

Lately the bitcoin decline wasn`t caused by the festive season, but rather the existence of the price manipulation by big whales who want to profit as much as possible, they don`t hesitate to launch the aggression of their lies through online media or other.
Consequently, stupid speculation takes place in the lay community, and causes panic selling among them.

Go back to your question.
In my opinion, declining and rising prices is a natural thing and that's the real market. While the decline that occurred this time is an unnatural decline as i mentioned above.
The whales took advantage of the opportunity, there were several bad news coming and the whales just decided this was the perfect time to crash the price of bitcoin, they got richer and lot of small investors got poorer but they are not seeing the long term game, those people that lost money are probably not going to invest in bitcoin again so it is going to be difficult to recover the previous price.

there is no double that bitcoin will recover,it is just a matter of time ,i think half year is ok.
Bitcoin is nearly hitting $9,000 again and for this time I'm starting to sense that there will be a bullish market since it was quite calm for awhile. But this is pretty much better instead of seeing bitcoin stable at $7,000.

yes it will recover. But Bitcoin finding new low end and may be go down further. But do not sell with lost. Hold until it recover and sell with some profit.
I agree, because as what I observe with bitcoin, it is now rising slowly and wait until you gain profit again with bitcoin for sure it will make another ATH's this year but don't take a rush, be patient and wait for the price to recovers, those who wait will gain profit in the future.

Of course the price of Bitcoin will recover.  Given the limited number of offers and the dynamically growing demand for Bitcoin, then an incredible rally is expected for us. In the second half of the this year we will see huge rise of Bitcoin.

It may not even take the middle of this year before we see a big rally by btc. Though i don't think its going to be in the same pace last december, but it will rally. It's recovered pretty well from that drastic drop just about a week ago so we all should br feeling good about the coming weeks and months.

Yes it will and it has started already. From it's dip at 6,000$+, it now reached 8,000$+ and even touched 9,000$+ mark at some point of its run. Hopefully, bitcoin will reach more than bitcoin's highest market price ever recorded since last year.

I believe in the technology, I believe in blockchain, but all of us were manipulated by the goverment and bank in last december. The growth was not healthy and now there are the consequences. I believe it will go up but slowly as it should be and not like a bubble.
It was a bubble that is right but bubbles are normal, people think badly of bubbles but this happens all the time, the growth of an asset is not a straight line it is a line with ups and downs and sometimes the pumps are too high and the dumps too low, this is the reason of why we should always be very mindful of where and when we invest our money so we do not lose it by investing in the wrong cycle.

Hopefully it will be able. If we will be basing on the past experiences of bitcoin with the backdrops, it has a chance to recover with this one. Backdrops on its market value is not a new thing for Bitcoin that is naturally volatile. Just trust the capability of Bitcoin to recover with the dumps on its market value. Holding will be a more necessary move than selling.

The price changes that often sometimes unlike with what we expect it's a normal because the price is easily influenced by some new things / latest news.
But surely behind that, there are some other things that we sometimes not expected it, that can affects to the price till can moving higher.
Well essentially we can adapt to the existing situation, and i think it will definitely recover and this can be used as the right time to buying it if have an intend to investing. I still believe that the people said about the price movements.. that after a drastic declined, there will certainly be a drastic increasing as well, because surely there are many people are still have intends to buying it and thinking this is the right time to buy with the low price.

I'm personally .. I'm just trying adapting to the existing situation that still i can do and feel a sense of optimism that it will recover as time goes on.

Festive season could also affect market trend due to the competition of selling their coins in low price for them they can immediately sold their coins. But it won't make such big effect in the market, ups and downs are just normally happen for many times as we recall crypto history since from the start.

Well, as the following image suggests it, price drop was likely due to whales playing with the market.
We can guess that whales manipulated the market to make it sink and will buy back and pump it to gain massive profit.

(source : https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-bitcoin-addresses.html)

Of course we can't avoid this kind of situation. Any dump is a good opportunity for anyone to buy and invest in bitcoin and we can't blame those people who grab it. We can think that they planned it but we also have to consider the fact that news mostly affect our decisions. Lately, bad news of possible banning of bitcoin and crypto transactiond circulates and I am sure that many are aware if that. Those who are new to these kind of situations are easily affected and I am sure that by making unnecessary decisions like selling, they have contributed to the dump.

That's best case scenario. But if the whole panic sell is due to regulatory whispers and how they may affect whales, it's a reasonable conclusion. With the summit coming up, it's rather convenient for this kind of shift to be happening now.

It's hard to tell from this distance if bitcoin can recover quickly FUD still sucking the oxygen out of cryptospace. We can only fold our arms and see what becomes of the year. Indeed the year has been up to a really rough start with crypto.

This is a period of uncertainty because of regulation scares and a few bad actors. The reality is behind the scenes, blockchain technologies (primarily powered by bitcoin and ethereum) are gaining mass adoption and are primed for rollout by massive enterprises. When this happens (likely 2019) there will be a substantial gain in volume which is bound to increase the value. Check out this article from this week by coindesk citing how big this in industries like banking and insurance.

In my opinion, bitcoin price will likely recover if all the FUDs and market manipulation stops or after Chinese New Year wherein the Chinese people could enter the market again and buy BTC to make the price increase. These past few weeks, sharks have already ripped bitcoin panic sellers off of the market and most likely, there are new kind of players now which could result to higher volatility. Cost averaging method is the recommended strategy during these times to make your position higher.
No, bitcoin will recover despite the FUD and the market manipulation, we cannot rely on the fact the FUD is going to stop, why would it stop? If the whole point of FUD is to decrease the price and its working what makes you think that is going to make them stop? Bitcoin will have to overcome the FUD and the only way to do it is to prove them wrong and for that we need a big positive news and the only news big enough is the lightning network.

Yes, After Chinese new year will chances to increase crypto market. Then Some countries over Bitcoin because of actions taken investments are declining. The government of India is investing in Bitcoin and transactions declared illegal. This will cause fear among many investors. For these reasons, now Bitcoin prices are  low.But soon it will come back to normal. This is normal, my recommendation is that if your investment is in the green that you sell now and take some time to watch the market, probably some months, that way you are going to get the hang of bitcoin volatility, I know that at first it may seem odd the way bitcoin moves but eventually you are going to get used to it, and if for some reason you cannot deal with it choose another investment because bitcoin is not going to change.

Definitely it will recover soon same as it recovers after the dips in past. Don't need to worry and don't panic because it is just a normal thing here in bitcoin world.
Whales were looking for this price dip (which is around $13K), so that they can buy more and more bitcoins to get the new ATH, so just wait and watch.

Is the Bitcoin recovery real or just temporary?

It seems to me that if we were on a downward spiral, it would have hit 13.5k or 13k as the new high, and make more losses throughout, etc.

Why did the price go up more than expected?

The prices went drastically and unexpectably without any reason so the price correction was needed but the prices went down a little more than expectations to low as $12000 but predictions are very difficult to make in this crypto market but still it is sure that prices of btc are going to increase as soon as the price manipulation comes under control and rise with boost and give more profits to investors so just stay calm and have faith in its power because it has shown earlier also what bitcoin is capable of so hodl.

But today I check bitcoin step by step the price increase more than yesterday. So invest in bitcoin still profitable.
ripple has been disrupting the bitcoin. How ripple are stealing the bitcoin market dominance and ethereum was following it after ripple. It's not about holiday. the actual use of the bitcoin gets prevented by ridiculous fees on the bitcoin blockchain. People are feeling surprised to see they must pay over teen dollars just for a single transaction. Is it worth? and i say no for that.

There is a possibility that bitcoin will fully recover after this holiday unless there is another event that will affect its price. Some bitcoin holders are getting nervous of their investments as the price continues to go down and the others eventually sells theirs. If bitcoin still sluggish next year, it might be overtaken by soaring ripple price in market capitalization.

Yes it will it was $1k in starting of the year so you can't say it is bad for the coin. There's a different thing that many bought at high prices but again that isn't the fault of btc , the price has been pretty high whole year this is the time market is stabilising. Also don't think this is the end of btc the price will rise again don't feel sorry at that time and whatever happens never ever sell btc at a loss.

No panic here because I believe can recover from such instance because it's natural for the volume of the demand of bitcoin to decrease because of the holiday it's only natural to focus on spending their money in such occasions because this only happen once a year and this is an important holiday because all our families gathered here to celebrate the holiday season.

Bitcoin is not going to slump and we have all witnessed the price of bitcoin's behavior. Bitcoin will recover in days to come and this has been happening for long and bitcoin may be heading towards $20,000 when we resume another bullish momentum by next year. We have panic  selling and  we are also seeing that many are putting more buying orders.

We we witness more slumps and different panicking behavior of bitcoins but if you see some the current circumstances now you can see that theirs no event or anything can hype the bitcoins for now and the season of hype days is done plus the year is now ending and might this one is the ending state of the quicky pump of bitcoin and became stable for now.

It was festival season due to which people sold their bitcoins and it really had to be happen becuse bitcoin was constantly growing since two months and i think correction is must in such conditions. Also there are numerous unconfirmed transactions on network, thus the price was lowered by these two reasons.
As per the increasing volume, bitcoin will surely grow again and touch a neww all time highest record

In my opinion, it is normal with this holiday season, it is dropping because a lot of us selling their bitcoin. Wait until it recovers again. How much did you buy bitcoin? I think you are still not lose profit as of now. It is still high I think. It is better to have your goal, encash your profit after 5 years, for sure you can gain more profit after that.

Then you better get used to it. Welcome to the world of bitcoin.

and will the market recover or is it due to selling during the festive season?  Huh

What answer will satisfy you here? You're asking for financial advise from random people on the internet. Why would you trust anything anyone says? Some people think bitcoin will be worth tens of thousands, some think it will be worth millions. Others are convinced it's a scam/bubble/ponzi/pyramid scheme. Who is right regarding the price or bubble speculations? Nobody can tell you because nobody has a magic ball that can see into the future. Bitcoin goes up and it goes down as it always likely will but nobody can tell you by how much or how long it will take to recover and anyone who does is just speculating based on opinion or guesswork.

Panic selling is a daily occurrence in bitcoin. People are more fickle in the cyrpto world than they are in other markets in my opinion and this is something you're just going to have to get used to.

Yes Bitcoin will recover from next week onwards when the holiday is over and traders start buying into it. Bitcoins downward trend is temporal and will surge soon.

Bitcoin is not a commodity like any other commodity or currency. Most commodities have matured over years and it is more evenly distributed between investors. This even distribution, makes it less volatile.

Bitcoin started out with early adopters, who mined and bought most coins, very early in the game. They use these coins to manipulate the Bitcoin price.

They dump coins to push down the price and then buy more coins when the price goes lower. They will then wait for the price to recover and then sell some coins, when the price is much higher. Rinse and repeat, and make some good profits.

This is legal and it is done with all other commodities in the markets.

Thats indeed something to worry about hahah, are you a stockk investor or trader? You were also me when i was new to cryptocurrency world. The truth is, its hard to predict if it will up soon, because of so many factors.  its very risky investment here.
But one thing is for sure, the veterans in bitcoin is "calm and ready" i even saw one earlier, bombarded yet continue drinking wine while holding his bitcoin as a shield then murmured "drop more, little prick". Grin

people have too much going on during the holidays, I think many want to rest easy, so they take out their money and take the profit they made

This is a normal phenomena with Bitcoin because of the holiday Season, people needs money right now that causes the value to dump. As of now the BTC price is approximately 13,000 USD, and it will dump a little sooner. It will recover after Holidays Season I think, also some Crypto experts says that in the year 2018 BTC price will reach up to 60,000 USD.

Well every investments has their own risk. I have also invested a lot of money last 2016 but withdrew all of it at the end of 2016 because I fear that the price will go down. But I regret my decision now. If I have only waited until this month, my money would have gone up to $800. Don't lose hope, some analysts say that the price may go up to 100K in the near future.

Nobody can say for certain what bitcoin's price will do. However up until now its price has always recovered, then gone to new highs. The recovery can take anywhere between a few weeks and a few years. In 2013 it shot up to $250, crashed down to below $60 then shot back up to over $1000 over a period of six months.

Although there was a bear market during 2014/2015 its price is now over ten times higher than the 2013 high.

Will the price recover? Theoretically, if we don't get negative regulations like bans and or whatever kind of FUD, bitcoin should rise in price due to the increasing demand and decreasing supply.

And guess what? It's the same for bitcoin or crypto in general!  and the panic selling in bitcoin is probably even worse, as there's so much dumb money in the market just because people FOMO in for the profits; even some guys grandma probably is interested in investing in bitcoin.

Nah, usual holiday season. No panic. Bitcoin was going up for weeks without any reason. It had to come down afterall. In a month's time everything will recover I think. But maybe not. No one can tell you for sure
