Don't mean to be pessimistic, but I think it will get worse.

The new age of technology has made terrorist acts very likely to be filmed on mobile phones/cameras and instantly uploaded and shared between millions on the internet (or even streamed live).

IMO this has two main downsides:

Firstly it helps the terrorists by broadcasting their actions instantly, and globally, making them think they are doing a more effective job (maybe it makes them feel like better "martyrs"), and also makes others more likely to engage in terrorist acts.

Secondly it turns public opinion against the religions that these terrorists claim to follow, and against their races (which at the moment tend to be Middle-Eastern or North African). This causes an uprising in public support for far-right wing parties/government in Western countries, and hatred and animosity to these religions and races in general.

These two aspects of new technology cause a feedback loop that just seems to make the problem worse.

If only these fucking lunatics would stop this shit maybe we could all just get along??  Roll Eyes

The impact of technology doesn't end on smartphones. The combined technological advances allow one person to produce much more damage on average with each passing decade. The Deus Ex series of videogames, despite being a work of fiction, makes a good job of picturing a society in a downward spiral, where good-intentioned technological advances enable ever more terrifying acts of terrorism.

Well as long as people hate other people because of race, religion, beliefs, I don't think there would be an end to it. Terrorism I think grows from misunderstanding and disrespect for other people's beliefs

Yes part of the same group like their relatives but will not be the same name of the group.  And maybe new group of terrorism as ideology and beliefs collides with other ideology and beliefs.  I do not understand why they chose to live in terror rather than having a peaceful and wonderful life.  Maybe they are used to it and no where to turn.  Sometimes people think that their side are right and would not let the opinion of others to be heard as they think theirs is the right one.  Thus, it will result in war.  Those relatives of people that were part of that terrorist group will continue the fight of the beliefs of their predecessor.  As they think that vengeance is the way to attain this things.

OF COURSE "Terrorism" will stay until the end of the world as it's the most useful tool to control Humans and States by :

- Being the first reason for politicians to present themselves as a shelter for people depending on the instinctif response of Humans against fear => why not paying for these acts to make trouble and then giving the solution  (Vote for us) ?

- This word also means "weapons" which is the most profitable market for some states... So PEACE means LOSS for them => they give money to groups to make troubles and they give money to politicians to fight these groups  (double STRIKE)

- when a state shows a revolution against the imposed global system, they send for them some "terrorists" until rising the "white flag" => Here Superman comes and "Terrorism" vanishes

- Some failed and corrupted states enjoy this word in order to convince their citizens that all the problems are caused by "Terrorism" and this is the source of their poverty => people will ask just for their security without asking for the other rights

... The list of "Terrorism" benefits is too long for dirty governors who believe that "people's lives don't matter" but "Only our benefits matter" (think about the infiltration of opposing persons and pasting the crime for "terrorists")

=> So terrorism will last forever whatever the name of the group  (every group is a project that has a mission which means a begin and an end)

Yes, terrorism will probably still exist in 20 years, though it'll decline in some countries and increase in some other countries. I believe Western Europe will see an increase in terrorist activity due to massive inflow of immigrants these days. Terrorism will be a prominent factor in Germany and France in the 2030's. Not that those countries will turn into smoking piles of rubble, but the glorious era (roughly between 1995 and 2008) will be a thing of the past.

Yes, there will still be terrorism.  I think they just change the name of the group but they are still the members of the group before.  Or maybe they are the relatives of the terrorist group before that were wiped out.  And they form another group to revenge the life of their lost relatives.
Much of what you say is true. But not all the relatives teroristov steel themselves teroristov. Many relatives teroristov, confident that their relatives had made a stupid mistake by going over to the side of terror. Some people even publicly abandon their families when they learn that one of their relatives, killing people because of their stupidity.

i think terrorism is getting brutal and brutal day by day. and it wont be stopped because some evil forces are supporting terrorism because terrorist groups and some forces are sharing same evil ideas on innocent people. for that reasons , terrorism will continue to grow in oil and precious metal areas.
What you say does not deserve attention. Yes Teror basically inevitable, just as inevitable in our lives fools. How else can you call people who wear a suicide belt. Or those who in time of peace, kill other people because of delusions. In the end, in fact, terrorism or solve any problems. Just some people are exploited by other bad people. But as soon as people learn to appreciate his life and is no longer subject to other crazy or selfish people. Terrorism, will cease to exist.

What are your opinions on the evolution of terrorism? How long will it continue and do you see an end to it?
War will never end as long as there are religion that oppress and abuse people, government, world system and human mind that give us the right to think of our own perspective. That's why we have terrorist because their perspective is against our perspective, the reason it conflict with what others want and give division on our race.

When was the first terror attack by radical extremist Islamist in the 20s century? Or I will reframe to be more precise even if I will get attacked for even posing the question: was there terrorism before the creation of the state of Israel in the west by radical Islamists? Furthermore I would be curious to see all attacks plotted in a chart... I bet there is an exponential growth since then... Just a guess... Again data.

It should be true. now that people can have access to a more powerful weapons, terrorism could get worse to an unexpected place with an unexpected hour of the day.
If these extremist groups could chalk it up to Jihad is Hell, they could really attack simultaneously during winter season as well which people could freeze to death when they're out.

according to scientists, there will be day/days (I'm not sure) where we, humans, can't use any kind of technology. it will be dark.

so I think on that day, there will be no terrorism. I mean, how can people do terrorism while they need to keep alive in that situation. IMO

I listen to a smart analyst who said that it was not the priority of elected gov to work and promote to integrate foreign born population because the results can only be seen 20 or more years later... It comes to the point of Rumsfeld saying that like sovietism it will takes a lot of work to discredit the underlying ideology. one good first step coming to the point of the analyst is to improve social cohesion... Not through a narrative or spinning but real and concrete steps to deescalate social tensions...

Integrating foreigners into local populations is actually the only way to relieve pressure at this point. It's much harder for a homogeneous group to stand against the inexorable build-up of pressure alone because no matter how sturdy the definition of itself, time has a way of wearing everything thin. By having entirely alien schools of thoughts in its midst and yet be standing together, a group can spread its burden across different philosophies each with their own independent coping mechanisms thus creating an interwoven net of identities where no single faith/creed ever faces the pressure alone.
Unfortunately, these compromises can only slow the inevitable, they do not resolve anything.

As long as the us constitution and bills of right are the only supreme law of the land the us is safe. The problem is in the EU where some countries struggle with a basic concept like freedom of speech...

It might take longer than 20 years but I believe terrorism will come to an end eventually. Through the use of force. With every technological step forward, control over humans increases. We already have mood-regulating drugs, brain implants, computer-controlled artificial limbs, mind control techniques, I think terrorism/war will be drilled out of humanity at some point, the same way people were lobotomized in the 1940's, in a global effort to ensure the species doesn't self-destruct. However, the ensuing new world is likely going to be immeasurably more nightmarish than the one we know now  Smiley

In my opinion there will still be terrorism from the same groups 20 years from now. It can be a lot worse I think. There can be new terrorist groups by that time and there can be none. Its hard to tell since there can be many factors that can affect it but it is most probably to be worse than what we see today since they won't stop until they get what they want or when they are dead I think.

it's never gonna end now. there are enough pissed off and directionless people out there and adding terrorism for your reason to take it out on the world is the ideal peg to hang it on.

check out the guy in nice. he ate pork, smoked and drank and was a general piece of shit. all he had to do was add instant isis and his rage suddenly has a 'point'.

the terrorists of the past often acted from some type of ideology. the future bunch won't other than the desire to destroy. there won't be any need for funding, organisation, training or anything. any random psycho can fill their head with junk online and jump in.

It really depends on many factors.
In my opinion, the terrorist group in 20 years will be completely different, because all of them are criminals, usually insane and they actually fight each other to gain more power.
Time goes really fast for them,no terrorist group can constantly have a lot of recruits or soldiers. They will be just tracked down, and jailed sometimes,so i think we will have some different kind of terrorists organizations.
