What's going to happen if CZ and binance start getting rid of some projects on Coinmarketcap? Especially those with bad volume and Liquidity and also dead projects, because many are on coinmarketcap, what do you think this will do for crypto space? Will it have any impact or not?
If he can clean the coinmarketcap, I believe this market will be easier to grow. There are so many bullshit and scam projects listed at coinmarketcap, which confuse investors and get stuck with these projects. We should hope CZ can clean it as soon as possible
I don’t think he will do it. most likely he has his own interests, which we still do not understand. clearing the coinmarketcap from useless and scam coins is just a waste of time for him.

Nothing changed since the acquisition of CMC. it looks like that binance doesn't care about this but this is the main problem when so many parties were being trapped by the scam exchange site.

You can see that dude and nothing changed.

I may think if this acquisition bring nothing to the CMC.

I think we have to wait and see what impact binance cz will have on the coinmarketcap first.
Since the partnership, there has not been many information yet, so we can assume that for now that principles are laid down laws are awaiting launching.

But one thing is certain, dead projects will be off coinmarketcap.

First of all, that will give a positive impact on Coinmarketcap itself. People will try to have new information about each project, and they don't have to search or take a look with the dead projects. The website will be clean from the scam or dead project, and that can bring more visitor to that website which the visitor can try to analyze with the data. But the problem is how CZ and binance can clean the Coinmarketcap because that will change people perspective about Coinmarketcap.

It seems to me that, because the way the stability is progressing is really the ferocious,
Altcoins are not getting stable, how can it be when almost every project is a scam one and most coins are pumped and dumped, project managers manipulating their coins, selling them to their friends/scam partners and form/create an illusion of the coins doing well in the market, when in the real sense of it, it's just a method of raising money from investors and giving them shitcoins back; the negative side of the altcoin industry is intense, I cannot predict stability for the industry unless all this is corrected(and it won't).

Possibly this will help the clearing out of the bad eggs from the world of cryptocurrency, we have seen many things went wrong from the days of shitprojects which were low volume projects without usefulness. They should be flush out from the system because we're tired of the scams. It's time the Industry flush out the bad guys out of the good guys to be more focus to in this industry. Hope they carried out this for the hope of having a good platform for investors.

Well, that certainly makes a good change. with this coinmarketcap becomes a more trusted place. honestly, a few moments ago, I didn't really trust the information there. however, right now I feel that coinmarketcap is in the right hands. it seems like in a few months, doing a coinmarketcap list won't be easy for some projects that aren't serious.

If they will just archived those dead projects and very low volume in trading, that would be helpful for most crypto users. At least we will know the quality ones and how many are really doing good in the market. And right now, I noticed those projects without exchange are now labeled as Untracked Listing. So slowly, they are cleaning the CMC site. It will take time to see the new CMC. Hopefully, it will turn to a very useful website later on where numbers are at par with reality.

certainly very good for the cryptoqurrency industry again especially on the coinmarketcap site, if a dead project or a coin that is registered there has no further price development then removed from the list then this will greatly help investors and can reduce the list of useless coins there.

Dead project and misleading exchanges should have a bad review on coinmarketcap. If possible, an historical background should be given about the project and what they have failed to solve as outlined on their road map. This will help investors to make decision.

I think as they have acquired cmc and they are the new owners so definitely we can see change in policy, design and also new changes can be expected. I think even if they delist few hundred coins it will not matter much because we have other platforms like coingecko etc that list almost any coin or token so if you need info about a low liquidity or dead coin you can browse to these platforms.

W've already seen how listing coins on big exchanges can create FOMO and boost the price.

Coins that get delisted are dumped that's how it is. It's like getting or losing a partnership when you're running a company.
It's all to be expected.

The bad thing is that exchanges are abusing it to extort money from dev teams.

I will say CZ acquiring CMC is for a purpose and I think he really wants to restructure Cryptocurrency by ensuring every fake or leakage is being monitored and closed. CZ will ensure fake volumes and projects on CMC are taking down I do think and listing on CMC maybe tough in future for some projects especially projects from scammers

We know that coin marketcap is used as a reference for cryptocurrency data tracking, it is neutral, and their team says that the data is based on available facts. Binance, we know that supported by a team of professionals who are quite active in innovating and caring in the crypto world, this will be an epic combination. I just hope that coinmarketcap will remain neutral, without any "influence" that benefits certain parties.

I want to go back to the condition where: the coins or tokens registered at coinmarketcap are really high quality.
If the selection and regulations related to this matter are tightened, surely the shitproject will not get a place. Roll Eyes

Will give better guidance to the newbies if they are going to start trading based on the information given on coinmarketcap and not have any negative effect by delisting the projects which are dead or going to be dead soon.

Coinmacketcap is a means for people to follow the market and observe the coins, but on coinmacketcap there are still many coins with fake transaction volume. That makes it difficult for investors in the cryptocurrency market.
If binance can eliminate some fake projects on coinmacketcap I think it will have a positive effect on the cryptocurrency market, it will be easier for people to observe the market so that they can make decisions.

I think there is more to this than meets the eye. The first question I asked myself was, why did coinmarketcap list those projects and exchanges in the first place, weren't they properly audited? Why aren't they cautioning exchanges to be straightforward after they have moved out of order? Or aren't they aware that most exchanges reports fake volume. As for projects, what are they doing about those with low volume. Although Binance going for coinmarketcap would be for their own benefits but yet I think it can help straighten out many irregularities in coinmarketcap.

right now can be a golden opportunity to invest in lesser known coins with big potential.
For example TemTum is going to be announcing it's partnership with multiple nations to provide them with their blockchain as a backbone for their own stable national currencies.
once the announcements are made to the press, post-corona panic, I can see TEM going $1+

Honesty I am dying to see that action asap! I just can't bear the  P2PB2B, Vindax and other shit exchanges on high rank and thousands of token in CMC! Binance yet to control the Coinmarketcap, they will go forward slowly and I hope they will remove all those shit token, exchanges from the crypto market for sake to build a better crypto industry!
So many scam exchanges and altcoin scams are listed on coinmarketcap, it's really funny when we check the 24-hour volume of exchanges. Fatbtc, bilaxy, coinsbit ... these bullshit exchanges rank first in volume ... We need Binance to get rid of these exchanges as soon as possible.

Absolutely! As these shit exchanges on high rank, many new crypto enthusiasts don't know about real exchanges like Poloniex, Kraken, Bitstamp! We have Coingecko, Livecoinwatch and many more price tracking platforms, but those are not even mentionable before Coinmarketcap, it's the best tool to track coin's price, and every single crypto supporter knows this name! So, Binance is the owner of CMC already, so, they should remove those shady projects asap

It is better. so, not just any project can enter the coinmarketcap. sometimes some projects are quite proud to enter into coinmarketcap, but sometimes the development of the project only ends there. no other developments, and sometimes so much volume manipulation.
The listing requirement must be more complicated especially for those crap exchange sites must prove their volume and it must not be faked. There was a lot of people have been putting this as the main concern that must be solved by CMC as soon as possible. The fact that this will bring a huge impact instantly.

That will give bad impact to all his reputation thus far, the people will only see the bad thing for someone act instead of they see to good act before. But I think they will never do that, binance is the large exchange and his reputation is good so far. Even I think they will build the coinmarketcap to the right path and reduce the bad thing from coinmarketcap before.

I don't think binance will do that. because in the conference they held yesterday when the announcement of the acquisition of CMC, they said that CMC and binance would work in their respective fields.
so binance will not shift or delete coins that have been registered with CMC even though the coins are bad. binance has also said everything will work as usual there will be no influence between binance on CMC.

It will certainly have an impact. I would not have to scroll through several pages when looking for coins I can invest in because I know after the clean up so many cryptocurrencies would be delisted from Coinmarket cap. Some folks see it as some form of centralization in this industry but I don't think so because i believe CZ together with his team are going to lay down some specific targets to meet before being listed on CMC.

I think CZ and Binance are controlling Coinmarketcap so this will be better and dead projects with low exchanges will be kicked too then this will have a good impact on crypto, people now to see prices on coinmarketcap therefore CZ will update CMC with a new concept (maybe)
The point is I want shitcoin and exchanges with bot volumes to be immediately off the CMC list.

They cant have different entrance levels for some then other. To get on CMC your coin need to be on 2 exchanges and have some volume on them. Every coin can enter CMC. But how coins are listed on CMC is diferent. They are not just by marketcap. They already have some categories. There should be way more. On CMC is everything. From apples to oranges.

CMC requires a cleanup exercise. The platform needs to be sanitized of projects that are not contributing anything meaningful to the crypto space. Some of them are adding volume and they are fake. So, we need a situation where there will be real volume and real market cap, with functional projects and exchanges.
In a bid for newbies and new project team not to be deceived, there is a need for it.
When CZ final gets it, he knows what to do. Using his centralized power is what I will not support.

Impact? I think it has no impact on the market if CZ and Binance decide to clean the CMC by removing those shady projects that still listed in the platform instead it is very useful in the crypto industry to get rid of those unperformed and useless cryptocurrencies that still listed in CoinMarketCap database CZ must do that for the sake of the crypto industry.

Probably they will change the criteria for a project to get listed on their website so it only depends on the site itself and how they wanted to go with their reputation with newly acquired website. But removing dead ad shit projects will not impact anything on the crypto space.

I don't like the idea of Binance taking over coinmarketcap because coinmarketcap in the first place is meant to be on its own so that there will be fair treatment towards all projects in this space. In my own opinion, it is the duty of coinmarketcap to set out strict rules which will force out bad projects and those with low volume as well as enforcing exchanges to do the right thing, it will be tough but will be for the good of everyone.
If Binance manages Coinmarketcap, I think we will still be fair, do not worry Binance will abuse it because they are completely transparent. We can be confident and trust them, they have never let us down for years
CMC will be operating independently without direct intervention from binance. Im not sure if that will give a direct impact to the crypto but i just hope binance can remove all of the crap platforms that are still listed on the coinmarketcap. Maybe this will not affect so much but that's enough to bring back the golden time of CMC
right, so many garbage tokens that cannot develop in CMC, as if they would only fill the cmc list without any clear contribution. with the credibility of binance, hopefully we can remove less good exchanges, so that less-than-quality tokens can be lost, so do not commit fraud against investors

Coinmarketcap is a coin and token tracker thats has good volume. We knew before a project can be listed there they are required to have specific daily trading volume CMC requires. I think CMC doing this already before even Binance doesnt acquire them. But I am be grateful if Binance would initiate removing those shitty exchanges that fake volume. Or their feature about reported exchanges. The data here shows manipulation which confuses traders with the active market price for each token and coin. I appreciate if they will start with these exchanges.

  • p2pb2b
  • latoken
  • vindax

Can add more but these three really made a huge fake volumes on their list.
Go to coinmarketcap and look for a 24-hour volume of exchanges, you're sure to be surprised at them because so many bullshit exchanges are leading the way. I tried going through their website and found that they use bot trading, not too many people use those exchanges.
I guess now CMC is no longer accurate in providing information. I wonder why binance is eyeing CMC for them. hopefully, later it will get better because at this time we cannot see data that is truly real for us to measure making market analysis.

If this is done then it is very good for the crypto space in the future, because nowadays many of us find dead coins in Coinmarketcap and if not in the fix it will be increasing, and if this is done then it will be positive impact for other crypto value that has been restrained by an obscure coin, we expect this problem can happen.
You are right. Dead coins are making confused to the new people in the crypto industry! Therefore inexperience user can easily fall in shit exchanges trap by seeing their high rank in Coinmarketcap! CMC was doing a shady business for a long time by allowing these! But as Binance never compromised with the quality, so, I believe they will take an action against all those fake, dead, bot crypto projects!

Its in 2 ways if we reason it through, 1 is binance doesn't actually need to remove the projects.
There are terms guiding coinmarketcap and any defaulters will definitely be delisted.

We can just look forward to perhaps more stricter terms.

Yes it will have impact, many look unto coinmarketcap to make decisions, they follow coinmarketcap rankings and details wholeheartedly, even new developers get mislead because of the exchange ranking on coinmarketcap, not all devs know fake volumes

Absolutely yes, there will be a hug positive impact which is a welcome development in the world of cryptocurrency. Those who have been known for volume faking should be start with and those shitcoins in the coinmarketcap should be remove and those coins aim at scamming the investors should be dealt with absolutely.

These guys have been doing bad things around the world of cryptocurrency and should be shown the way out. This move by Binance will help the world of cryptocurrency and will bring back the trust.

If this is done then it is very good for the crypto space in the future, because nowadays many of us find dead coins in Coinmarketcap and if not in the fix it will be increasing, and if this is done then it will be positive impact for other crypto value that has been restrained by an obscure coin, we expect this problem can happen.

I think that it`s good strategy to reduce scam projects on authoritative sites like CoinMarketCap, because inexperienced users can buy it and lose their money. These actions lead crypto community to be more honest and frank for new members

Agree, by removing projects that are indicated by pump and dump, will create a conducive investment climate for new investors in the cryptocurrency market. Coinmarketcap website is widely used as a reference data before investing and with accurate information, investors will be more confident to invest

What's going to happen if CZ and binance start getting rid of some projects on Coinmarketcap? Especially those with bad volume and Liquidity and also dead projects, because many are on coinmarketcap, what do you think this will do for crypto space? Will it have any impact or not?

It is possible that this will be done to clear tokens that do not have transaction volumes to create an actual market cap value. The circulation of many tokens with a large amount of supply makes the market value of the cryptocurrency market cap biased.
right, like natural selection, where if a token has no volume so there is no trade in it, it will be deleted or delisted. and of course they are not profitable for the exchange itself, because there is no sustainable income for the exchange, because there is no trade

As long as they are not targeting their exchange competitor and only those projects that are erroneously listed in Coinmarketcap, it will be good for the community and the industry, investors and traders needs to see the real picture, they want right projects on the platform and not pump and dumps and scam projects.

It will certainly have a positive impact on the altcoin market. If scam projects and dead projects are removed from coinmarketcap, investors will focus on the best and top quality altcoins. At that time I believed that the prices of altcoins would quickly be inflated

I'm not defending Binance, but what the hell you don't like them taking over? Is it because that cmc will be centralised then and could be used by Binance as a tool? if that is the case I would agree with you. But I don't think that that is their goal to begin with. I'm sure that there will be some clean up and maybe an upgrade on UI and more useful information are going to be provided to us. So in the end it's going to be a win-win for crypto enthusiast.

I don't think he or the binance team would start to get rid of the projects just because they have low volumes or create fake volumes. Of course they did it with respect to binance exchange but coin market cap is not a exchange it is  just like a listing board which lists all the coins that are available to trade .

But I think they will clean up a lil bit. Remove those dead projects and maybe put in the archived. I think as much as possible they will treat all projects fairly, they know that eyes are on them so they won't ruin their image by manipulating numbers. But they will see to it that the numbers are now more or less the reality. I think they will put a technical support that will be very active now in resolving the issues. Those who will be reported as faking their volume or has wash trading will now be investigated. I'm excited to see what new things they will implement in CMC...

I think that many people want this, but I don’t know will binance together with cmc fight against scam exchanges and scam tokens because it will also bring them less income, but of course I want to believe that at least something good binance with cmc will also do.

It will bring more good in the crypto-sphere, I guess. Remember that we have complaint that Coinmarketcap is advertising  scam project and listing exchanges in the top, when obviously those exchangers are doing some sort of wash trading and fake volumes.

So if CZ and Binance can clean up the list, then no newbie will fall on trading on shitty exchanges that has been displayed in the old Coinmarketcap.

There will be more money can be saved, so many parties used coinmarketcap as the only site to get the latest information regarding the daily trade volume of crypto. I have seen so many developers and newcomers have been getting trapped too. I just hope this will fix all of the problems and those people can go to the right market.

I believe getting rid of bad and dead projects will definitely be a good decision to take.  This will have a positive impact on the crypto market as well.  Leaving thrse these dead and bad projects on the exchanges and coinmarketcap is creating a lot of confusions in the crypto spheres.

Scam projects should be removed or tagged as scam. And the ones that have failed to carry out further development as detailed on their road map but keep dumping on the community should equally be removed.  I expect a lot of sanity in the market.

Getting rid of projects will sound like bullying, instead i think the partnership of binance and coinmarketcap will encourage projects to sit tight, and also encourage exchange platforms to be rid of fake volumes across their exchange.

The impact will improve the technical know how of crypto currency.

Few days ago it was when I said that I don't lime the idea of CZ taking over CMC that much. However, if he's going to remove all the shitcoins off the most popular crypto price tracking website, maybe this is the day shitcoins are finally not getting attention anymore?

I've heard the idea of the list of coins getting cleaned up for years now and I'm patiently waiting for that moment to come. We need it. Way too much garbage in the space. If this happens, it will have a good impact. Let's just hope he doesn't turn into the next Justin Sun and removes just coins he personally doesn't like or has had some beef with .. Smiley

If CZ and binance can get rid of some bad projects in coin market, then the impact will be very good for crypto, because the crypto space does not require projects that do not have volume and low liquidity.

For sure taking over the coinmarketcap will bring major changes with regards to what coinamarket is serving to its users. Binance will handle coinmarketcap very well as they wouldn't want to disappoint their current supporters and traders instead they'll do what ever it takes not just to keep them but to also to multiply them. Sooner, we could expect that a lot of crypto coins and exchanges are going to get delisted from coinmarketcap as they'll be evaluated very well.

Of course this will have a big impact. Coinmarketcap will look better later because the exchange with fake volumes and dead coins will be removed from there.
Many people will return to using coinmarketcap, which has now moved to another platform.
