I don't think its fair to compare apple with oranges, like we are comparing ICOs and IEOs. IEOs are much more scam free if they are launched from a legitimate exchange. I am still investing in IEOs that I find attractive.
people have different views, of course, if you think that IEO is interesting to invest in then you choose the term. all kinds of technology must be tried to find out the impact, the most important thing is to be careful when investing

for now I am still focused on investing into bitcoin and some of the top marketcap altcoins.
no more ICO investment because some ICOs are not as good as the new ICOs appeared.
Investing in a large IEO market is not bad but it is difficult to get tickets so I think I focus on investing in BTC and top altcoin only.
now I also do that, investing in bitcoin and some of the top altcoins compared to having to invest in ICO, and for IEO I have never invested in it. maybe a lot of threads that are talking about IEO and I just want to try to find out more deeply

1. No, unless there is some strong business model and confirmed open-source code on GitHub that is original.
2. DPoS is preferable, something like COSMOS looks good

Seeing the fact the market now makes me not invest crypto, but I still hold bitcoin and 7 altcoins with a value of around $ 1700, hopefully the market will improve soon so that the price of crypto can skyrocket again.

for a bounty hunter like me might still participate instead of investing in ICO or IEO projects because if happened is fraud then only time is wasted not money. Grin well, even though the ICO boom is over but that maybe will also happen to IEO because as you said, that's it is true if ICO and IEO are is same just with changed name. the scammer will continue to exist on ICO or IEO.
Ye true why we invest if there's a alternative like bounty we can get and accumulate coins in our reward than to invest in scam. Wasting money in investing in ICO and also in IEO because its the same maybe only the change but if there  a scammer in ICO there an scammer also in IEO. We might careful where we invest our money so that we can not go with a wrong move.

It's not advisable to invest into ICO or IEOs as of now because of the reputation which they have created for themselves with too many scam projects and yes I would day we could rather invest into existing altcoins with great potential instead of losing our hard earned money behind ICOs or IEOs, same goes with hunters as well because they waste their valuable time in bounties which either turns out to be SC or refrain from paying rewards when it has value.

be careful when investing is important because what determines your investment is yourself. when there is fraud there is definitely a project that really wants to build, so increase research knowledge first because it is the basic before investing wisely

The boom of ICO's is over. This year we saw some IEO's but basically it was the same, just with changed name, to avoid some restrictions that were implemented in order to block scammy ICO's. A lot of investors lost astronomical amount of money during that ICO's boom. Now days everyone became skeptical about ICO's IEO's and crypto investments in general. So here are some questions.

1. Will you still invest in ICO or IEO if there is an interesting project ?

2. Will you invest in a new ready coin (Not a fork) ? If yes which one do you prefer.

A. Coin with POW algorithm (Mining equipment or pool needed)

B. Coin with POS algorithm (Mining equipment not required. Computer with running wallet is enough.)

C. Coin with POS algorithm based on fixed block reward

D. Coin with POS algorithm based on a percentage reward.

P.S. I excluded masternode coins, because most of them are scams.

VOTING POLL ADDED IN THE HEADER OF TOPIC ! PLEASE VOTE !

Answers:

1. For now, I will just focus on investing to altcoins which are already in the market. These coins have more potential to grow.
2. Based on my answer to the first question, it's a yes. Most likely I will prefer the option D, Coin with POS algorithm based on a percentage reward.

I prefer Proof of Stake with algorithm based on a percentage reward because it allows its stake holders to get the maximum amount of reward they deserve regardless if the market is bullish or bearish. Unlike in fixed block reward, you wouldn't get the advantage of a bullish market.

I would still invest in IEOs on Huobi and Gate.io, because those two exchanges are still giving profit to their IEO investors. On the contrary, the last Binance IEO gave nothing back and the price is now below the IEO.
yes, I also still invest in some IEOs that run on large exchanges and do not invest in ICOs or IEOs that run on untrusted exchanges.
sorry it seems your statement is wrong, so far there are no coins / tokens from IEO Binance whose price is below the IEO price.

The only luck that ICO still has left are bounty hunters, and they are still joking with them, because if not for hunters who are still promoting these projects believe me that no one would have still paid any interest at all to ICO which will make even the genuine projects to suffer also, but we still have some hunters that have not given up on ICO, and they are still advertising them which In the process of making the advertisement, lots of people that have not known about ICO challenges yet will rush into buying the tokens, which is why many people ask that amidst all these cryptocurrency tension, there are still many people that are investing in cryptocurrency every day and getting dupe.

Luck may run out on ICO if hunters too refuse to advertise them again.
I totally understand what you have written here, but still don't forget that we have many people that are not aware of cryptocurrency yet and until, they have made some investment before they start knowing or hearing about some of these scam projects. The percentage of cryptocurrency adopters is still very low compared to what it should be, and projects like Facebook and the rest are beginning to create awareness for cryptocurrency because of their intention to join the cryptocurrency sphere.

My old folks whom I have never for once told about cryptocurrency recently once approached mw that they are hearing that Facebook want to launch a coin that they would like to invest in, it was then I started explaining things to them about the whole cryptocurrency and even at that, they were still willing to take some risks.

Crypto is not investing. It's speculation and the word investing is not accurate here. However about ICO, it depends upon how much risk you are willing to take on, and how well you know the ICO space. While there are a few good ones out there with incredible potential, even the potential to make overnight millionaires, one has to know which ones to invest in, from having read the white papers and done the necessary research.

I would advise caution with ICO’s, because there are a lot of pump and dump schemes out there in the space as well, that cause people to lose their entire investment. So It is often best to invest in a mixture of ICOs and large-cap cryptos like Bitcoin, Ethereum, TRON, Monero, Cardano, EOS and Neo. this mixture provides stability to your portfolio but still allows for drastic gains from solid ICOs.
I would like to add Bitcoin forks and new-wave coins like GRIN into your list, because on the wave of upcoming hype of halving we may see interesting market picture.
Halving period can`t be held without big XXX from some project. This time I think GRIN or ChainLink may get the top because their marketing and technology, community are really good.

After 2018 where more than 80% of all ICO proved to be a fraud, so that gradually many investors began leaving ICO because of the fraud factor, and its effects that until now many ICO projects have not gotten the maximum results in sales.
Of course, it is very reasonable if now investors are starting to switch to investing in IEO because it is clear that IEO is very beneficial for project developers and exchanges, and for most investors who buy tokens from reputable crypto exchanges is very important, especially given the high prevalence of fraud in the ICO world.

The end of ICO is already happening right now. We have seen how projects are staying away from it. And those who conduct ICOs are facing failures. Although I really believe that ICOs do not mean crap. There are many ICO projects that turned out great. But since the market is already very dirty with so many scams, the ICO market is generally labelled dirty as well. Projects that do not undergo ICOs are the best for me.
we do not deny that the number of ICO project frauds has made the new project investment market down. many projects fail to get funding. Many investors are losing money and switch to trading and investing in crypto assets that are already listed on the market. the result is that the new project is now underestimated by investors. only projects that promote their products correctly and seriously will get investors. that is also the case with the IEO system which relies on cooperation with exchanges.
Throughout 2018, ICO did not bring any profit to investors because most of the projects using the form of ICO were scam projects and did not bring any profits. In fact, ICO are the most risky investment in this market because they can fake any information and can make you believe in investing. I think it is difficult to tell which projects are good or bad because everything happened very suddenly.

In my opinion, you should not choose to invest in ICO during this period and should only join IEO because this type of investment is becoming more popular this year and is trusted by a lot of investors. Profit from IEO may be very low but those projects can assure you of the transaction and do not waste much time waiting.

No, i would no longer invest in ICO because most of it are scam but i would invest in IEO if they are legitimate and has some good backers. I prefer POS not POW because POS only needs stake and doesnt require huge amount of electricity to participate.

The same with me. ICOs did not prove that they can be 100% trusted. However, this decision does not mean that I will not work with cryptocurrencies. Vice versa, I will invest in crypto more. The market is getting ready to shoot, and the holders will get profit; they will be awarded for their patience and faith in crypto.

Now, most of the people are showing interest in POS, coin which has active products, because investing in ICO's really very tough because most of the ICO's are getting into scam's and it is impossible for us to predict the ICO's.

It makes sense as the success rate of ICOs are really low and the investors have decided to invest on those projects which has an active product rather than an idea wherein ideas are failing to convert into product and already investors have lost too much in last 18 to 19 months,  I think either it will be end of ICOs or they need to come up with something better to gain the trust of investors.

In fact, the first ico company was carried out by the Mastercoin team, which took place in 2013.  Therefore, I am not too sure that over the past 18 years, many investors have lost a lot of money.  If we recall the year 2016 and 2017, then investors received a fairly good income from their investments, especially if they invested their funds for a not too long period and at the same time using a 50 percent discount during preliminary sales of tokens.  And if we take into account investments in Bitcoin since 2009, the investors who used this chance are today millionaires and billionaires.  The fact is that many people have a desire to make money quickly, easily and very much with cryptocurrency after too actively popularizing cryptocurrencies in 2017 and these people made big money investments, without having enough understanding and knowledge of what is happening on  cryptocurrency market.  This is what killed new investors and they lost their money.  But if we talk about the problems of ico companies today, then among investors today IEO is in demand, which are held on the most popular exchanges.

Nope from now on i will stop investing through IEO. ICO because after all the negative things that happened on that both section its very skeptical to contribute again. They are very greedy in my opinion which they don't mind what will happen to the hunters ,at least they can earn a tips from the scam projects. Oh hell no.!.LMAO it's very unfair..

Not all IEO and ICO are scam, some of them are really developing great projects for the future of crypto. Because of many scams projects investors are not interested with those ICOs and they're not funded enough and cannot continue develop their product which is our fault if they can develop their great idea because we generalize them as a scammers.
So as a wise investors we have to be wise choosing an ICO IEO project because some of them are potential and we will be the most profitable people if we invest them now and they reach success in the future

This has been the general sentiment of the majority of investors, that is why we see a lot of projects not reaching their soft cap, failed to properly manage their platform to make it competitive and gain acceptance from the community, there are still a lot of coins in the market that worth second look that already has a platform, instead of looking for new ones, let's give those coins who are already in the market a second look.

1) I wont invest in ICO money grab projects.

2) I'm investing in proof of stake projects almost exclusively (besides BTC)

3) I'm investing in projects with working products, and active developments.

I'm accumulating BLOCK right now, since it has so much potential coming the next bull run. It's an old project, but with a working project. They never HYPED it up like projects such as "NEO", or "TRX", which I like. Smiley

Their DEX works pretty well, and I'm sure more and more people will realize how awesome and convenient it is trading without risking your funds on centralized exchanges.

Honestly, I still believe in cryptocurrency, even now I still keep some altcoin that I keep as a long-term asset, I prioritize investing in cryptocurrency that is listed in the top 10 coinmarketcap today, but to invest in ico or ieo I will not do it again, because some of my experiences are too bitter in following ico and ieo, and I really don't want to repeat that mistake again, it's enough that I lost my money Cry Cry

LOL like you many people lost their funding in ICO project without learning more about them. Some of the people lost the fund with scam projects and then they realise the truth about them.
While you are looking for the investment, you please check the best coins in the list and make the best portfolio with the funds you own buddy.
From the beginning I was aware of the risks that I would get in investing in ico or ieo, but in this case I was never caught up in ico fraud because before I invested, I would check all the truth about their teams and projects from various sources, I lost money when I invested in ico coins that did have a lower price in exchange than the price at the time of ico they were held and I thought it was a valuable experience for me to be able to understand the true cryptocurrency investment. If we are on the year of 2017, I would really suggest investing to crypto because this period was the peak of the market unlike this year which is the total opposite of what happened before; the market value of cryptos continuously falling without assurance of when will recovery occur. This era is the most frustrating time of crypto because of the sudden downfall from having a mountain-high market prices. Investing at this moment would be advatageous if and only if there will be a recovery eventually, but surely, doing so would be risky.

block rewards if to small I will ignore.

How much do you think the block reward mus be, if the price of 1 coin =$1  5 will be enough ?
I think 5 will be enough if I can sell the coin at $1, and also if I don't need a lot of coins to put in wallet for staking, the less coins i need for staking than the lower capital I need.

Yes, I still want to invest in new projects if it is a potential and promising project. I like investing that has many benefits in the short term.
Besides, I will choose to invest in PoW algorithm coins. because I think PoS needs more money to staking and that makes me feel insecure. Although PoW is not as fast and convenient as PoS, it is still hot and makes a lot of money.

How you can define p o w algorithm coins can make more money than the other altcoins in the market? Then investment is purely based on the returns what you can get from your your money.
I personally believe in Bitcoin and ethereum, these coins will make the the presence of cryptocurrency market for the long years from now. So always invest on search coins to make the money.

There is a season for everything and I think the season for altcoin were gone for now which they will be back later in the future. I know how much we have all waited for the event of 2017 to repeat itself again which is looking like the whole thing is just a dream that will veer come true, but I believe that the cryptocurrency market will boom once again.

Once bitcoin can have a bull run, then it will be obviously that the altcoin season too will be nearing because what really make the altcoin season to come is when bitcoin goes on a consolidation way, any day that bitcoin start to Consolidate, expect that these cryptocurrency will boom again, and I don't think that I have to wait till then before I start investing in them so that I would not be among some of us that will definitely follow foo then.

I am still interested in great projects, but the problem is that there are none of them live on the market. Even Binance IEOs are trading at their IEO price and I am not speaking about all other garbage that is out there.

No matter what are the consequences, I will still keep on joining ICOs and IEOs that I trust. We are not required to expect fast profits, most of the ICOs and IEOs requires great patience before you can really gain benefit. So if you cannot really meet the requirement, you wouldn't be able to gain any from it. Investing on crypto is not a simple thing, you should meet the requirements first or else you won't be able to make the most from it. Make sure that the IEOs you are going to join is really popular and  at the top to ensure that the earning is a at the best.

That is what's disheartening, many good projects are pulled down along with the effect of ICOs are scam. I've seen a lot of good projects who were not able to have a successful crowdfunding because of the effect of scam ICOs that made other investors in skeptic in crowdfunding. Most people are investing nowadays for profit and not for technology, that is why a lot of good potential projects are dying too soon.

The current trend everyone expect a faster profit so few peoples only think like you. But most of the time day traders are active in crypto market. Nowadays traders only earn good money and loose the money so those are think gambling they just think time pass. I am also active trader so   I always active in all the time.

I don't agree with you that ICO and IEO are the same. This year, we found some great projects through the IEO. To make profits, if you invest in high ranked exchange's IEO, you would make that! So, don't mix ICO with the potential IEO. You just have to gather a good knowledge to know a legit IEO project. So, I will invest in IEO and of course, I have plenty of options in crypto like BTC, ETH, BNB, TRX, ADA, BCH and so on to invest!
Basically ICO and IEO are the same but IEO is more convincing because it is related to the reputation of the exchange, it can be said that IEO is a rather perfect form compared to ICO.

I'm glad to see you are still excited, but I remind you that there is no guarantee that they will run properly even in popular exchanges.

Even though ICO days are over and IEOs are booming these are still profitable but it is like 1 out 100 is really good especially if you are going to try your luck in investing to listed IEOs on big exchanges. I still try my luck though it is really hard to enter but it will get you rekt once you buy during the listing or trading day
Right now if you want to invest with an IEO project you also have to choose a really good IEO project that is listed on popular Exchange like Binance. Not all IEOs can be successful because if the developer registers his project in a small market, investors will not be interested.

I think now is not a good time to invest in any project. because the market is very volatile and projects will be worried about holding lots of coins, and the rate of projects failing will also be very high due to the high volatility of holding money.
But in my opinion, projects in the crypto market still have high value if it is formed in the bull run phase.

Even in this current condition legit projects still exist but the amount of good projects is like 1:1000 compared to projects on 2017.
We have to do long research before investing or promoting a project because the crypto investors is so few right now that caused a project token will not so valuable when it enter market.
but i'm sure next year or next 2 years cryptocurrency projects are shining again and make investors see crypto as a promising investment

Actually investing in ICO,IEO still good but always make sure the project you want to invest were legit,  wherein don't easily fall in some sort of words or promises because most of it are false wherein just to convince participants easily.  So start from now we should be aware on this kind of tactics to prevent regrets.. Be practical always and make sure it has a real team behind and very professional when it comes promoting  project , it so easy to determine actually if put more effort on it.

Yes nowadays investment into altcoin is really unpredictable and it requires luck as well along with a proper analysis a day some of the ICOs promise to list in bigger exchanges and end up in exchanges like Mercatox and other shitty exchanges which just kills the token along with investor's money.

1. Will you still invest in ICO or IEO if there is an interesting project ?

Of course we invest in strategic projects. besides that the factor of exchange is very important here. because I will not invest ieo which turns out the exchange has been involved in a case or not trusted by many people. It's the same that we put money on a scammer. Attractive concepts and strategic exchanges are the key to benefit from IEO investments
even with the name of the exchange is not enough to bring profits to the IEO investment that we do. because I have not participated in ICO or IEO investments. My main reason is that there are many scam projects and I prefer trading and investing coins with large trading in the market. still has risk but I think the risk I will get is smaller than I have to invest in new projects with markets and prices that are still difficult to predict.

Although ICO / IEO projects often fail, investors' interest is still high to invest in ICO / IEO projects, because they still believe there are projects that are really can make them profit like in last 2017 project. I as a Bounty Hunter will also continue to follow the Bounty program provided by various projects at this time.

None of the choices you put in the list are not relevant to my choices, i'll invest in anything in crypto if i see a talented team that has a potential, with an original idea and great track record to make it happen. And if their market cap is still relatively low against the growth i am projecting to them.
when there is the potential of a large team and the project is also working with several large projects that are already running in the market will give us the confidence to invest in new crypto. but I don't particularly like investing in new crypto because there is a greater risk to their ability in the market when it is already traded. I prefer investing in crypto that is already registered in the exchange and trading crypto as it is safer and more enjoyable.

generally i will still invest in crypto that i think have potential in the future. but for the ICO or IEO is relative, depend on the project itself, nowadays its difficult to find legit ico/ieo. the rest only scam.
For the Pos algo itself, i will choose base on percentage reward that i think its good for long term holding.

Long term holdings is the best methods to grow your coins in the long run. Though it's not easy to find out which of those ICO was legit, there's always a many chances to gain a good market value once those serious matters will be out of the lime light. What's important now is we're aware of what's happening of the market.

To be perfectly honest, I have seen only a handful of ICOs that even look legit these days. It seems that all the most incompetent scammers are dominating the ICO scam sector, unable to even make a proper scam. But, a few projects did seem decent and real at first glance, so I would invest in those, if not for a really bad economy in my country which barely leaves me with enough money to survive the month.

Ofcourse i will, crypto industry is still promising for a long term, many altcoins projects are growing which means the future of crypto is still long ahead and i'm sure crypto will dominate the world and become mainstream in the future.
Just for example, in 2014 crypto is really in bad state and no one look for it and ETH coming for an ICO with really cheap price. Who wonder the price of ETH is skyrocketed in 2017 and even right now, the ICO buyer of ETH is still get hundre thousand percent profits

I am not saying that it is totally safe but it is somehow safer than ICO reviews are done beforehand. As for the new ready coin, may be I would invest as well. I'll go with either B and C, wallet is enough though and besides I ain't a miner.

1. Through IEO or ICO carried out by exchangers or crowdsale is a good way at this time to invest, but must be careful. I really choose IEO organized by a famous and trusted exchanger.
When it comes to mining, in my opinion it will be tired twice and it is very rare that there are no mining coins that produce stable coins. Unlike the IEO which already has a standard in price.

2. Coin with POS algorithm based on fixed block reward

1. Not at the moment, considering how bad an ICOs for the past year, I'm not gonna invest in them.  As for IEO I do sometimes invest in them.

2. Yes. B for me. Computer with running wallet is enough for me. Not everyone could afford a mining equiptment, so yeah. Everything depends on the coin's price, and the block rewards for staking. And the total circulating. Last but not least how smart the dev to choose the first exchange for the coin.

Nowadays, investing in IEO is a lottery and even winning it does not guarantee profit, we look at the latest projects of Binance launchpad. For myself I decided that only promising coins can give a certain amount of time to arrive.
These are BTC, LTC, BCH and ETH.

I choose B, but In my opinion really depends on couple things
1. the price when I have to buy, if to high i will not to stake the coin.
2. block rewards if to small I will ignore.
3. exchange where the coins are traded (this could be the parameters that the coin can last long enough).

I will still invest in an interesting project especially if it's new idea that really shows solution to the ongoing problem here in our country or will help an individual to be better in a specific area. Yes of course, the reason why I am investing my money is not only because of profit but the technology.
If it can bring a new path for cryptocurrency why do not we support it?

Yes, I choose C.
I choose this because I can calculate the inflation rate of the project and the risk of holding the coin.
A good project will not flood the market with their coin because it will lose the value of the coin.

I will not invest in ICO OR IEO sincr they are just a scam project and buying in their sale price is just like you want to lose your money because the value of their token/coin will be less when it gets listed in (if) exchange.

And having a coin that can be mine using POS with a fixed block reward is much better than the percentage reward so it will be fair for people who holds a require amount to start staking.

Some ICOs will still break through I think and as you've said, for bounty hunters that earn crypto, it won't hurt to invest a little amount in some promising ICOs. Though of course, proper expectation should be practiced and never go for broke. There may be some cases when people are lucky enough to have invested in ICOs that became successful, but it's a gamble that I won't dare take.  I view ready coins the same way as ICOs so it won't hurt to invest a small amount in any of these two.

yes, i will still invest, even when there are many scams project around. but, i know there is a few legit one.
I prefer to invest in binance IEO. most of them is success. my success criteria is about price. in the first listing, those IEO coins can up 2x-5x from IEO price

The investment in new projects is quite interesting, it really makes me feel excited but also somewhat worried because there are so many fraudulent projects.
Regarding question 1: yes, I will invest in both if the project really has potential. I usually do not distinguish between ICO or IEO, because I have the ability to identify the scam projects.
Regarding question 2: I think I will choose D. Currently, the staking of PoS is very much appreciated by investors and I also see its convenience. Besides, people who have a lot of money always get worthy rewards and I love this.

1. I will invest in an ICO or IEO, but for a few years already, I have not encountered any truly interesting project.
2. A new coin is not too different from an ICO or IEO. The only difference is that its project is not asking for the money of other people for their development's funding.
3. I would choose a coin with PoS algorithm based on a percentage reward. That is the most fair in my opinion.

for a bounty hunter like me might still participate instead of investing in ICO or IEO projects because if happened is fraud then only time is wasted not money. Grin well, even though the ICO boom is over but that maybe will also happen to IEO because as you said, that's it is true if ICO and IEO are is same just with changed name. the scammer will continue to exist on ICO or IEO.
