Yes the straps are probably too aggressive, not all cards are made equal, maybe the particular gpu brand you are using isn't as good. You may want to try lower straps. Because if it run fine for a day, for me it's not hardware related, sadly i don't have much experience if not any with AMD gpus's & straps, just the little info i was able to gather on those forums Smiley Maybe someone with more knowledge could be able to help you further.

No you should be able to mine for days easy with a stable rig, also use recommended drivers for miner, (what are you mining), otherwise yeah it could be hardware but after this much time it sound weird, i don't have much  referecen but could be a bad riser and/or bad gpu, if it's still crashng i recommend you run the rig with only 1 gpu, 1 riser, if stable for a day, do it again, to try & find the problem component.

i am mining monero. I will try mining with standard bios and see what it gives... if stable after 24 hours i can tell that its not the hardware ... then my timings are off. but i doubt that because i read a lot of people that work with 1750 timings and run stable Smiley

Yeah sadly you are up for alot of testing, so good luck mate, hope you find the issue  Wink

Thx mate. Running stable for 2 hours now on base straps and base Mem and GPU settings. When I hit 16 hours I will try to change Mem freq a bit higher on first card. And wait another 4 hours...
If that is OK, I want to do the same.for second card... Like this I want to check what is possible. But first I want to hit the 16 hour mark :p

Ok so 15 hours of mining on base BIOS and base settings. Worked perfect. Then I closed claymore miner, used wattool to higher the memory for my first GPU from 2000 to 2100. Started miner again and running stable for 4 hours now. When it makes it to 12 hours I will keep the 2100 setting for first GPU and set the same setting for second GPU...

My question now is, does this mean my hardware is fine? Mobo, PSU, risers ? Because 15 on base BIOS and base settings works fine, but when I change to 1750 timings on all GPU and run on base settings it does not make it to 10 hours. And I read a lot of people have there rig running stable with 1750 straps. The only difference is the Mobo...

does it crash with everything on base settings ? no overclock, no bios mod nothing ? maybe your bios straps are too aggressive.

yes it crashes with base settings. i did a reset of all settings in Wattool so im sure its on base. max mining time was 8 hours. I use the 1750 straps because i read on the internet that 1750 are the most stable straps for RX 480. i want to be able to see 750 hashrate stable , thats my goal Smiley. but it looks like i need al the help i can get. can we exclude that this is a hardware mobo issue?

Try with base straps, no bios mod at all to see. if that still crash could be something else (bad gpu or riser)

Ok I will try that. What is a good reference time of mining to see if it is stable. With the base straps the max time I tried mining was 13 hours without a crash and then I switched to 1750 straps. Is 13 hours a reference?

hey guys. really need your help. I have a mining rig of 4 RX 480 nitro+ 8gig  cards and a corsair 1200i PSU. the mobo is an old one H61M-D2-B3 ( gigabyte ) with 4giga ddr 3 rams and intel core i3 2100 CPU. I use 4 PCI usb 3.0 risers. I am using AMD drivers Radeon software Crimson 19.9.2 ( older version i know , but i read on the net that this one should be more stable )
i am running Claymore miner with GPU flashed bios 1750 timings. running it without undervolting or overclock and still get crash in windows from time to time ( max mining is 8 hours ).

Is this because of the hardware? maybe i should go for mobo Asrock H81 pro btc, should this be more stable? I am testing now with standard bios to see how long this lasts before getting same error, but 1750 timings should not crash as well no?

it would be nice to share your experiences with me Smiley
