Running a good windows is dangerous, imagine running a corrupted windows.

Wait, what? A good Windows is dangerous? Am I missing something here?

I think they mean that Windows Defender by itself isn't the best protection. If you look at different comparisons, e.g. Windows Defender vs Avast - https://websitehowto.org/windows-defender-vs-avast/, you'll see that the protection levels ain't too good.

You should certainly reinstall Windows, and also schedule a complete reinstall twice a year or so.

Running a good windows is dangerous, imagine running a corrupted windows.
I fully agree.

Furthermore, antivirus applications and firewalls provide only limited protection. Many security professionals would agree that making things more complex opens up attack vectors rather then making the computer more secure. Your computer may be compromised even with updated firewall and antivirus applications.

I think you can leave it as it is. Many people generally never use any antivirus and other programs. I don’t think that something terrible could happen.

I suggest reinstalling the Windows 10 from the original version because you will get full protection from the Windows Defender although it's not guaranteed. Besides that, you say that your system has corrupted so I guess that something worst will happen with your system in the future if you don't install a new system. I don't use antivirus, but I activate my Windows Defender, and so far, it can protect from any suspicious malware because I don't click any links that I don't know. But you can buy an antivirus to help Windows Defender protect your computer.

I recently wanted to scan my pc, but i saw that my windows defender is blank because my defender is corrupted, when i try to search it in google about my problem i saw that the only way to fix it is by reinstalling my windows 10. So i would like to ask if it is okay to leave my windows corrupted, or just buy an antivirus for me not to reinstall my windows again because my internet connection is really slow these days.

I know that there are some IT people here in this forum, that is why i would like to ask about it.

I don't think that Windows defender provides good security to your system.
There are many more antiviruses that can keep you safe.
However, it is good not to keep it like that and broken as it will be a window open for incoming malware.

Certain problems might still occur if you will leave the corrupted windows. You really have to fix it through reinstalling.

To fix this problem you have to re-install Windows and do not try to do all these Windows Defenders later. There is a high chance of being hacked and all the new installs will be fine Don't try to reuse Windows's malicious content and it will hurt you Can lose everything.

Because you said your Windows Defender is corrupted, I wouldn't assume your system is stable anymore. What you need to do is back up your personal files immediately, using a backup program or just copy-paste to another drive, then you should download the microsoft tool that creates a Windows 10 installer on a USB drive from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and then get a windows 10 ISO using that tool, and then use that to reinstall Windows. Then restore the files you backed up.

Getting another antivirus right now will probably make things worse.

And be used to reinstall everything every few months or so, that is the destiny of using windows. Until you learn to use something better.

Have you made backups of your unrecoverable data yet? You should...

Running a good windows is dangerous, imagine running a corrupted windows. Maybe your system is already compromised, and at any moment, someone somewhere will launch attacks from your PC, or traffic dangerous material thru it.

IT people would love you to take it to them every so often, they will happily take your money and fix it, knowing that you will be back later...

The only good Windows...

Its a genuine version or cracked version downloaded from random websites?

Anyway don't compromise security of your device because you never know what it will leads you to be, so back all the things on your pc and reinstall the operating system which doesn't even take few hours to complete all these things. Smiley
