The Bitcoin ETF will come and to be honest, the ETF fits better in BATS than in Nasdaq imo.

Why would you want to buy ETF when you can buy real bitcoins directly?

If you're waiting for the Winklevoss ETF, you're wasting your time. It won't do jack for bitcoin price. The twins are doing us a favor by prolonging the process, hopefully it will be denied or die a slow death.

An etf will attract a different class of customer
In Other words, not broke Lil teenage phaggotts like yourself.... Smiley

Just because you are a wee Lil teenie weenie faggot, it doesn't mean everyone else is.

I must have spoken the truth or else you wouldn't have taken such offense. Put on your little girl panties and go to your mommy.

Winklevoss etf will never be approved, not in your life time. So much fun poking at these idiots.

Calm down little dick... No need to get stressed out...
Some people (like yourself)  just ain't cut out for the moon...
No need to hate on the rest of us who can afford a ticket lol.... ;

You too should calm down, biatch!

I don't hate on anyone, even you. You're the one filled with hatred and anger, prolly stemming from your cuntiness. You don't have a ticket, only holes in your tiny tiny pocket. You and your family will die from hunger and starvation. All your children will be homeless, destitute, your daughers and grand daughers and their daughters will sell their body for food. They will mate with dog and donkeys.

dont blame youre sad situation  on me son ,it wont do you any good but it serves to entertain the rest of us so feel free to  continue ur lil rant lol

People who buy bitcoin directly already aren't interested in investing with the ETF, they are interested in the flood of baby boomers and non-techies who will suddenly be able to invest in bitcoin.   Roll Eyes

I have a lot of cash parked in my IRA and would like to move some of that into BTC. I don't think you can buy real bitcoins directly from an IRA (at least without setting up some kind of complex trust), which is why the ETF would be real nice.

If this has happened it may have more effect on btc price rise than the impending  halving....

it would have already because of insider-trading. i don´t think it is happening anytime soon.
Yeah, the market doesn't wait long to react to news.  I'm not a firm believer in efficient markets, but I am certainly not a believer in learning-disabled markets.  If it was going to have any effect, it would have already.

I can't figure out (in my pea-brain) why anyone would make an ETF out of bitcoin.  Why not just buy bitcoin?  Then again, derivatives exist for everything, right?  I'm just ignorant.
Because certain types of investment funds are not legally allowed to invest in Bitcoin itself, but they can invest in an Exchange Traded Fund.

Certain investors have money locked up in accounts that can only invest is approved things like an ETF. Raw bitcoin they couldn't invest in.

Old story.

Is the etf close to being approved?

read my wonderful thread here - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/new-road-map-for-winklevoss-etf-possible-approval-in-weeks-or-months-1533942

it unquestionably has taken a bunch of steps closer to being possibly approved.

Just vaporware, this ETF is never going to get approved no matter how many times they keep trying.

If this has happened it may have more effect on btc price rise than the impending  halving....

it would have already because of insider-trading. i don´t think it is happening anytime soon.

There is already a Bitcoin ETF....'GBTC' is the symbol. Other than that, I don't know much about it, except that is a low volume scammy p.o.s, that for some inexplicable reason, trades at massive premiums to the actual Bitcoins which are supposed to be backing it...
Won't buy into this fake hedge type cover.
I will jump on the real bitcoin etf when it is available. Will keep my eyes peeled for it as it will be limited, so first come first serve. As most things that are of true value in this economic "get real or go bust" world we live in.  Cheesy

yup. if this doesn't inspire more people to come in then i'll be amazed. it removes alot of the stuff that people worry about.

Are there ETFs for other currencies? like USD or Euro? Or are ETFs only useful for Chuck E Cheese-grade coins?

Also, would an ETF ETF (ETF indexing performance of all ETFs) track its own performance, or is that asking for trouble?

gbtc is very different. it's linked to bitcoin but the price is for shares in the trust, not bitcoin itself and that's why the price has diverged. the winklevoss etf won't do that.

ok in this case, will be the same that investing buying bitcoin, but with a financial instrument. This could be interesting for public investors.
