I can't really help you about this, since I am unfamiliar with BTCD.
But since no one is replying to you, here's a fellow recently trying to solve an issue with connecting to RPC on a computer running BTCD
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/btcd-nodejs-errorerror-connect-econnrefused-5030154

He did mention something about certificates at the beginning of that topic.
If this doesn't mean anything to you, you could PM him, as he seems to know a bit or two about running BTCD and using it's RPC.

Hi,
Im using BTCD (https://github.com/btcsuite/btcd).

Im connecting to the JSON-RPC with a WebSocket connection.

But I'm getting this bizarre error when I'm on a windows machine,

http: TLS handshake error from 127.0.0.1:52627: tls: first record does not look like a TLS handshake

I looked everywhere and with no luck no a single solution, I have found a temporary workaround by using --notls flag.
The problem is that now I have to use LND and thus cannot use the --notls flag.

I have no idea what to try anymore if anyone could help I would be thrilled!
Thanks! Cheesy
