If this could be done in an efficient and a safe way it would be a very good tool. it's still hard to think about having electricity without wires.

This is actually not the first time Wireless Electricity has been 'invented'. Tesla built, but never finished building a tower that was to distribute wireless power. It's an exciting technology that could change things a LOT. Think of wireless appliances. This would also mean the demise of the battery.
