I never knew people can apply for this, I thought it was just at the sole discretion of theymos or the staffs. Well, good luck though, probably we still need a bit of a boost on having more merit sources to improve the flow of merit around the forum.

Well i am not the judge for you to be accepted as a merit source, but i think there are some that i can comment about, such as :
1. Some of your suggestion post is only a compilation of other thread.
2. No 5 is only a copy pasted post with some reference link to the original post in the bottom of it.
So thats it. The length of the post doesnt ensure the quality of the post. If the search function is great i think a post which compile other thread will be considered as a normal post, but too bad i can find an exact match when i try the search feature, or did i do something wrong?

But i wish you a good luck, hope you can be accepted, so you can help more people in the future and make use of your position in a good manner.

My #5 post is actually an article that was submitted by the DMD Foundation, and both the original poster and the guy who quoted the post are very involved in the project and likely both worked on the article, so in that case it didn't really matter that I merited a quote of a post. Just a bit of insider information for you Smiley

Compilations can be very helpful especially for those who would rather not comb through an entire thread for useful information Smiley

I appreciate the support, and we'll see what happens. I'll enjoy giving out s-merit as a source but I'll be OK with out it too Smiley

Thanks for your support. I don't mind waiting a long time to get accepted, but it would be nice to get some sort of confirmation response just letting me know what to expect.

It's not a huge deal to me, but you are correct. I do enjoy helping new people with education and a boost whenever I can.

Part of the issue with merit is that those of us who can give it out tend not to because it's not a habit we're in. I've been giving some out, but I will run out eventually as it's not like my buddies here are meriting me all that much--again, because not in the habit.

I haven't gotten any response and I even messaged theymos to point him to this thread. It's possible that they already have all the merit sources they need for now.

You may be waiting a while,  Loycev's application was submitted January 30th and hasn't had a response. I'm not sure if anyone who applied to be a source became one or if there is any information on rejected/pending sources.

You may be correct that theymos figures there are enough, I'm guessing the idea would be to slowly introduce sources so the supply isn't flooded.

I had some time to check out your recent history and it looks like you have a few places you like to post but that you also return to the Beginners and Help section to help folks and have spread a decent amount of Merit there. They also look like posts that were deserving of Merit.

Good luck with your application

Thank you for supporting my posts. I was very active in forums, but then my account was compromised. I managed to lock the account to prevent the hacker from doing anything mischievous, but haven't been able to get it restored since. I have messaged admins, but get no response.

The NEM thread which I was previously active on has since fallen behind in receiving adequate updates - which I would like to continue doing, but hate the thought of starting over with a new account. Especially since my locked one is using the username I use in all cryptocurrency circles.

Now I have reached the point where I wish to make an announcement thread for a NEM project, but unless my account is unlocked, I would be doing so with 0 active account with no merit. Sad

I don't mean to hijack your thread as a means to my ends (getting account unlocked) - I DO support the idea of you being a merit source. I have read countless posts of yours over the years, and you have continuously proven to be sensible, moderated, and not prone to irrational behavior.

Thank you for the support and I'm really sorry your account got hacked. I don't mind you posting here. It bumps my thread and can only help, right? If you want to start any threads with your new account and would like me to comment on them, feel free to PM me links. I'll be happy to check them out and comment. It helps me too.

Here's another seriously undervalued post:

Hacker Wallet addresses:

Main one being drained: NBEAUKXJLBJXXTPXN2OPIX3LZQWWZA56IQO2P5S3
One that's been static: NDABPHWFPH7KL5FADCW66V4GYLVXHKYQIPWL4G2B

edit/
The obvious implication that most assume is that at the of the end of dumping, we would see a price increase. Seasoned traders agree, and are planning for it.
The price point the hacker is dumping at is ~3300 sats. These same traders are buying in that range. - But I am sure many will dump somewhere along the line as price increases. However the effect short term traders have, should be like a drip in comparison to the hackers flood.

And thank you to whoever all has donated!  Smiley Smiley

I feel like it's important to correct and clarify some things I shared in the past. Most importantly the issue of catapult release.
Mostly due to language barriers, I made a mistake in my assumptions. I've since been corrected by some within NEM foundation.

Lon Wong said catapult source will be released this quarter. However, he was meaning the mijin source - which DOES run on catapult code. Mijin is a private chain. It's primary use is for businesses to use an in-house chain that can communicate with the main NEM public chain.

Additionally, I was told that Lon may have meant by the end of the 4th month, which would be April. I guess we will find out soon enough!
This is still great news! It will make it much easier for businesses to use mijin and likely the main NEM chain as well. It should draw the attention of large enterprise seeking to improve their current in-house operations.

Mijin chain can reduce operational costs for many businesses by a significant degree. - No need to take backups, no need for extensive hardware, no need for elaborate security software, amongst so many things! Even things we might not consider right away - like a business no longer having a need for file-cabinets, thus saving on floor space, time spent finding paperwork, loss of documents, etc.

With all that said. Catapult implementation on the public chain is unlikely to occur before the 3rd quarter, which begins July 1st. However, don't bank on this exact date, as it will most likely require more time. At the same time, I wouldn't wait until then to plan an investment in NEM.

Even with the current state of NEM, we have great advantages over other smart-asset blockchains, including Ethereum. Many smart asset chains aren't even a functional product yet, and most don't expect to be this year.
