I like Xiaomi, now I use xiaomi Mi-4C and Redmi 5 plus
I am in love with horror films. For really good newer ones, I would suggest Mama and the newer It.

Based on the price you can only count on a Chinese phone. On the other hand, now a wide range of such phones, for example, Xiaomi is considered quite good phone for its cost.

Prioritize the quality over the price, if possible. High quality phone last you longer, and their manufacturer will keep the firmware updated. A good quality phone can easily be used for 3-5 years. They won't get lag with the newest app.
