No.

Those that knew about Bitcoin before August 1st still have a high opinion (or the same opinion) about it now.

Those that didn't know about Bitcoin until after August 1st don't know what Bitcoin Cash is or how it relates to Bitcoin.

Have you read any news articles about Bitcoin and the August 1st event? Most reporters/journalists describe it as a split of Bitcoin. Which is exactly what it wasn't. A split means you get double the shares (or coins in this case) that are each worth half as much...so you maintain the same total value it's just distributed differently. Bitcoin Cash wasn't a split at all. We were each gifted Bitcoin Cash as an incentive to use this alternative currency that was marketed to bet better than Bitcoin.

The news agencies are either too uniformed or too lazy to speak about Bitcoin Cash properly. I don't think there is any risk to the brand of Bitcoin.

Nothing can dilute real bitcoin. No matter if hard split or UASF type split, bitcoin will be the dominating power of the market because we all know how strong bitcoin is.

They can make forks forever by dreaming a controlled bitcoin type. This will never happen!

Bitcoin Cash will replace Core and become Bitcoin. Don't get left behind. Pay attention.

The market needs a coin that will give bitcoin a run for its money and I suspect that bitcoin cash will be that coin.

As bitcoin cash got splitted from the bitcoin network, it gained popularity as well increased price in a short time period compared to most other digital currencies that has got existed. This doesn't mean that bitcoin was diluted because of the bitcoin cash existence. Always the bitcoin will get used as the best digital currency even after years, when more and more digital currencies exist with unique features.

With the Arrival of Bitcoin Cash, Has the Bitcoin Brand been Diluted?
no!

Also what happens when there is a 3rd Bitcoin, if at all there is one in November?
it has always been like this:
if the new coin can gain enough popularity and can convince enough people to be considered majority, it will be bitcoin.
if not it will be an altcoin
if somewhere in the middle then bitcoin is no longer strong.

so far bitcoin has been what majority is accepting as bitcoin. and all the rest of them (which is not just BCH but a lot of others) have always been altcoins.
nothing about that will change.

Lets Say for Example, If for an equity investor, the Choice is between
a) Amazon
b) Amazon ABC
c) Amazon XYZ
all three listed on the stock exchange, will he pick one or avoid all due to the confusion?
i can register http://AmazonBelongingToRedAppleAlone.com right now for a very small fee.
and then i can list it on exchanges easily.

will you buy shares of AmazonBelongingToRedAppleAlone, short form: AMZRA?

Now if we replace Amazon with Bitcoin, those are the options in front of first time Bitcoin Buyers.

How do you think they would react?

Would they pick 1 or avoid all, as for now the Bitcoin brand seems diluted, at least it seems so from the sidelines.
yes lets replace Amazon with bitcoin.
there is bitcoin,
then there is
bitcoin cash
bitcoin unlimited (https://www.bitfinex.com/trading/BCUUSD)
bitcoin dark
bitcore (which has SegWit and 20 MB blocks)
bitcoinPlus (not sure what this is)
litecoin
dogecoin
Primecoin
Namecoin
Titcoin

and lots more according to this answer[1] more than 94% of altcoins are based on bitcoin in 2016

now which one do you think investors have been choosing in the past 9 years?

There is only 1 bitcoin and that is bitcoin. Bitcoin cash maybe a split of bitcoin but it is not bitcoin, it is considered an altcoin. Bitcoin is not diluted and you will see that its value keeps on growing. If it is diluted then a bubble have happened already or a price deflation. But instead of a price deflation and inflation occurred. This means that bitcoin is not diluted and is unstoppable.

There is a lot of confusion at least in my mind, as I am trying to learn more about Bitcoin.

I really don’t understand why the bitcoin core had to be split into two, now I am reading stories I don’t even understand saying that its still the same currency but the new one promises faster processing speed and higher block size
