Was looking at ANN ICO section of the forum 5 minutes ago and I can confirm this: 90% of the threads are bumped up everyday by bots/service, some accounts has also signature so they take 2 times the payment (bump+signature).

These are just bot? right
This kind of spamming activity will never stopped if theymos does not do anything about our forum. 1 merit requirement would be enough to lessen this kinds of shitposting or maybe posting shits.

yeah most of them are bumping services or bots like this user
https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/samueln-187361

If you look at the user's post history, you will see his quotes with another user (the same one) in differents threads and this is very unusual pattern.

This is clearly a case of bumpling service, if you go on ANN section you will find hundreds of those accounts, sometimes using a signature also and get money from others signature campaigns.

@ Lafu

Quoting pyramids are common bot activity. I've seen it amany times, there are some obvious cases where the the comments under the quotes have nothing to do with the quoted post and just keep piling up, but those a quite rare occasions.

I just wonder if you have a bot and you are farming accounts with it, + make some extra money with bumping ANN threads (everything is automated), it will be very easy to discredit someone's Ann you don't like for example, or a competitor. Just adjust the bot his way and bang! His thread is down.

We can't be sure 100% with this things, but anyway it's easy to spot a quickly assembled scam project, justone  need a common sense.

I have seen a lot of things, the same post from newbies, I come to think these are all copy paste post and they are doing it from the scam Ico that paid, I'm not going to believe in a project that hires newbies to hype the ICO this is one sign that the ico is fake

Yes, I think even imposing one merit requirement to the Jr.member level will help in decreasing this type of spams in large number for sure. Still any newbie can join the forum and bump the thread easily so, I guess the best measure for this is to avoiding such type of spam projects and investigating more on which every project you are working with or investing in!!

Looking the ANN section of the forum on threads with more than 20 pages, I think, we can assume 90% of the posts on those threads as bumping posts.

Maybe I am wrong but I found out some interesting thing and guess its a new way how Bots spam now!
~

I found a few hompgraphs in your quotes.
So this is a case of plagiarism, I'll check them sometime soon and bust those bastards.

I have some ideas and if I find a bit more free time I'll make lists with all those "plagiaters" / sry idk what is the correct word/ Smiley

Very intriguing marketing though.

And so it goes on and on again!

I'll take a look at it and watch it but it looks very much like you can see a certain pattern and some bots the posts the 2 posts have made more likely just not to be recognized!
As I said until now only a guess and will observe this and look in other threads if something happens or if it is only accidentally in this thread! But personally, I would say its a new way of Bot spamming!

I reported only last one and wrote nice comment to moderators to check whole thread because it is full of shitposters. There is very simple solution to stop them, either to put merit requirement to reach junior member rank as many suggested before, not to allow newbies to post in altcoin announcement board or as someone suggested in meta to force them to solve recaptcha, but last one won't make any difference if they are bots because I believe there is a way to bypass recaptcha(I've seen this on faucets, some of them were drained within few minutes no matter there was recaptcha).

Topic: KRIOS - INITIAL TOKEN OFFERING IS LIVE! www.krios.io

The topic was created on October 30, 2017. Since then the last legit activity posted on June 17, 2018. After that there were not many significant posts.

But... from Auguest 10 (yesterday), things started to pick up! On a sudden bunches of newbies started to post these cheesy stuffs.

I'm hoping for updates on Mainnet progress soon; is anyone else still watching this project?
a lot of positive updates lately, looking forward to the exchange listing

So, far we have 21 pages now which means in the last 24 to 30 hours they have generated more 14 new pages!

Looks like the project has already scammed the investors and now who knows what plan do they have. They must hired bunches of newbies to keep posting on the topic. I already have reported 5 to 6 pages of posts. I am tired now and thought a mod will remove the entire topic or to lock the topic to reduce the spamming.
