Like almost everywhere, in NZ the circumstances under which they had sex and the boy's age at the time are legally irrelevant to the question of child support. If the mother had custody (the child has been removed from her -- let's hope she doesn't get it back) then the boy would be liable to pay CS once he turns 16 under NZ law.

the average boy loses his virginity in his mid teens. while there are few parents who would actually approve of it, few parents would physically punish severely their 15-16 year old son if they found out he had sex with an older women.
