As we know, Bitcoin had reached at it's peak of $19k during the end of the year and after that it went to a deep decline.
People are hoping that the same momentum will take place this year too. So if this happens, won't people be ready for buying at this price.
Or lets say if the price really goes high and when the year end comes, won't the people sell it before the decline arrives ?
If people start selling, don't you guys think that the decline will arrive much faster than the last year ?

P.S : My point is, we can't expect the price to rise and fall the same way as the last year.

You are correct. Both the raise and fall is happened in last year.At the beginning of last year, bitcoin is struggled to reach 2000$.It was come true at the month of August only.In 4-5 months the price of bitcoin reached 19,000$.This is the power of bitcoin as compared to other cryptocurrency.
The current market encourages people to buy coins and this is due to the low market price as we know that in a low market we get a lot of coins in large quantity on low price so we can collect a lot of coins which makes a better position same as you load a weapon. So, we have loaded our weapons in this market and waiting for the value to go high and give us the opportunity to sell out for profit.
Majority of people are doing the same thing at a moment as they are buying at a low price and waiting for the price to go higher as they are not at all in hurry to sell their coins nor they are worried about the lower price as they are very much sure that price will increase sooner or latter so they are treating current low price as buying opportunity at cheaper price and selling it in long term at higher price at higher profits.

But way more people is selling then buying right now. People bought bitcoin to profit from price growth, but they only got price decline. They are disappointed and are selling. People that already have lots of Bitcoins are buying. But they dont have endless bags of Euros. They put part of their salary in Bitcoin. They want to maybe buy new car since their old is all rusty and since they have in Bitcoins for a small island. But they rather dont and eat old bread and drink water and buy more and more Bitcoins and put them in their heavy bags. Those people cant hold price of Bitcoin so high as it is right now it ss simple.

When there is panic in the market, which there is, you will always have people who sell their BTC and altcoins even if they have a significant loss.
All the holders will have profit in the end, but you need to have patience!
In order to have great success patience is our tool when market is not good. Some sold theirs due to panic sell so we cannot force them. Instead, believing it will rise and holding we can have profit at a latter end due to price will rise.

People who sold the coin are really felt very bad when the market starts recovering, people who are still believing the Bitcoin will always hold until the price of Bitcoin starts recovering. A higher percentage of the people will mostly panic about the Bitcoin price when it starts decreasing.

It's probably their first time having such losses and it's understandable that panic would easily seep in. As we can all agree, most that panic sold were weak hands that just jumped in to btc due to hype and then bailed out after seeing the market crash. They probably learned their lessons well if they wish to get to btc again
I really think that those that got in the market because of the hype and lost their money in the recent crash are not going to learn any lesson and if they decide they want to keep investing then they are going to lose their money again or it is entirely possible they decide to never invest in this market again, after all if I lost so much money I will be very mad at myself.

Not necessarily because the price could rise to $19,000 and instead of crashing, it could just keep rising to $50,000 or some other high amount. And instead of a crash, we could see a minor correction and then a continued increase after that. I don’t think the pattern is all that predictable. If anyone can make those kind of predictions, they are probably already wealthy.
It is completely impossible to know what it is going to happen you are right on that but at the same time to think we are going to see such a price increase so soon does not seems to me to be possible, but if it happens then I'm completely willing to take advantage of this and if bitcoin reaches my target I will sell.

I always say, every year the price movement of bitcoin will be different, it means it will not be the same. Bitcoin has drastically increased in price by the end of 2017 and declined in January 2018 and will not be equal to a rise or fall in bitcoin prices in 2018. Every year the world of cryptocurrency will have a problem and good development. As the problem in 2017 is not the same as the bad news that happened in 2018. So someone will not be able to convince the bitcoin price will rise in 2018, or even experience a significant decline. I guess everyone will know about your point, and they will agree with it.

which is the problem now when the price will be the same as last year

The ATH is actually $20k but the decline is absolutely insane from 100% to almost 70% and incoming if the crash is still going to happen in the future if that would be going to happen people will tend to wait for the peak before selling there would always a greedy person who is trying to manipulate the price, there would be fluctuations ups and downs.

It all depends on the price at which people bought bitcoin and at what price they sold it. The price will not rise very quickly. I am sure that a lot of people now regret that they have not sold coins for $ 19,000. As soon as the price rises to this level, they will start selling. You want the price to go down again? Let it stay as it is.

I strongly agree with your opinion, judging from your opinion and your opinion is very experienced in this field, being additional from me personally so that we are more alert to the situation and condition of the world of crypto and bitcoin because the fluctuating price causes us to lazy to learn, while to minimize it is advisable that we add data to what conditions the situation causes bitcoin to rise and fall, from the beginning and the data each year, and also to the outside data such as socio-politics that causes bitcoin prices to change, the future expectation of crypto is more acceptable and the government openly endorses it as a new form of the future, may be useful and successful for all of us
People are well aware of the market as the market value is low and incase if one sells in this market then he will pay for his decisions and will lose. This is very common in this market and everyone knows that selling in low market will face you with loss.

We should wait for the real time when the value goes high and our holding currency gains more value which encourage you to sell out in a market like this.
Selling in this price is totally nonsense and is to lose your money by yourself. It is right to hold bitcoin for some more time and when the price up again then you can sell for higher price. If you are not satisfied from bitcoin investment you can convert your money to Altcoin. There are many good currencies which is very profitable and you can make handsome money from there.

I definitely agree to not expect this year to be the same as 2017 for bitcoin, to peak again and be somewhere around $20k - bitcoin is very unexpected and unpredictable. Anyway these dips in the current time should not be a worry if you are doing long-term. Being pessimistic is quite advantageous rather expecting something big for profit and being disappointed if it took a turn - always remember to hodl as there will not be a loss, yet or something.
Yeah this year is not good for bitcoin so far. The price of bitcoin is not increasing besides it is decreasing day by day. It is not good for old investors because they are not making money from their investments. But on the other hand it is good for new investors because the price is low and they can make huge profits in the long future. Don’t even think of selling your holding.

If bitcoins will reach its peak on december again this 2018 then maybe most of the traders in the market today will just sell their coins immediately because it was very hard to see right now that the price of your coins is melting but the best thing to do in this time is just to hold your coins in order to avoid losing a huge amount of capital.

Those people who will not sell their coins immediately when the price of bitcoins reached that high are just greedy and they want more profit and come up losing everything because the market is volatile and the price might go down anytime.
It is not only about greed, I did not sold my bitcoin at the all time high simply because there is no point for me to sell my bitcoin, yes that would have been great profits but since I really believe in the long term prospects of bitcoin there is no point in selling now when I plan to hold for at least an additional decade and while that may seem like a lot of time I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

The major decisions of the market depend upon the different market timings. As we know that market has different timings and changes with the passage of time so our decisions have no common times but specific times. We sell in a high market and buy in a low market which is the major decisions in the market. The current market favors people to buy as the value is low and achievable.

According to current market situation people won't sell their bitcoin, because it leads to a great loss. By the end of this year surely bitcoin will reach massive growth. For that if you have funds just buy more  bitcoin and hold it for future. Dont get panic about current situation it is temporarily. The price will increase in upcoming days till that we have to wait with patience and hold the bitcoin.

Expecting the price will go up in the same way it did some months ago is a terrible mistake, I know that we will like to see the price recovering immediately instead of seeing a weak market like the one we are seeing right now, but things are not so simple something big needs to happen that allows bitcoin to make that kind of push again and there is nothing like it that could happen in the short term.

Both the price increase and decrease happen in same year.It is not a real asset or FIAT.Since it is digital currency, their will be some fluctuation. The major loss is happening by the mean of panic selling of new traders .The people who had start to inverse in bitcoin ,have to hold at the price crash.

The one who sold at loss gonna buy again above the price at which they have sold their coins before out of FOMO when any change occurs in market trend people used to panic a lot so same can happen when market will turn slightly bull. People gonna jump in regardless of price and we might even see way higher ATH price in another bull over $20k. Price has ran from $1k to $20k within a year period just keep that in mind.

Yes you are right and that is the reason why they should hold their coins today and not to sell everything because the market price are still dumping, just wait for the price to grow up in order to avoid losing a huge amount of capital.

No one should expect anything at all whether it would increase above $20k or whether it will ever even reach that amount at all. No market is predictable and anything can happen. We may be looking at it in a way where things are not going as planned, but who knows, there may be some news that could cause some real demand rally in the market based on some development and we both know in such cases resistances can easily be pushed away. Some people may sell now but I am sure most other people are busy right now in buying. Because this may be the last chance to buy bitcoins for less than $7k levels.

People can not sell in the current market as we know that it is a loss for those investors who invested in high market of normal market and this time we are in a low market so this is a clear loss. They have to wait for a good opportunity and the good opportunity is to wait for a high market where the value of your holding coins will be high and this will payoff if you do so.

I mean, you can't expect a bull market to emerge out of right now in my opinion. There isn't a signal of growth and sentiment is bearish. With a huge bull market last year, the value of BTC needs to consolidate and go through this bear market (which will last some time), before prices are able to go up in a major way again.

The reason why a lot of people in a bull market, when it does come, does not sell at the peak is simply because nobody is able to predict where prices will peak.

And with the natural human tendency to be greedy, it's no wonder a lot of people are literally trying to flip money in the bitcoin market in the extremely short term by buying at extremely high prices. Obviously, growth at the pace of last year isn't sustainable.

indeed when last year when we bought cheaply said it was the price in the year yesterday who hoped this year will peak in fact we are even otherwise losers that turned out the price even down even cheaper than last year. The point is I tell you this is a risk that must be taken; when you trade or invest in a crypto the price can change anytime even tomorrow the price can soar you have to be more patient and make a new strategy in the world crypto so big loss does not happen to you.

For sure when the price arrives high again in sometime, many will start selling but we don't know on how long will stay and when decline will come.
If people start selling, don't you guys think that the decline will arrive much faster than the last year ?
We don't know, it can go faster or it won't or it will gradually decline. I hope that this year's increase and decrease is different from before and is going to be on a higher level of increase but lower level of decrease.
You should sell Bitcoin when the market value is more than its initial value. By this I mean to say you should always think about maximizing your profits and this can only happen when you sell your coins during the time when you feel to be in profit. They predict the prices of the coin to rise high and beyond $20000 in the end of the year and lets see the market response to the speculations. But a situation which makes well off should be utilized.

People gonna jump in regardless of price and we might even see way higher ATH price in another bull over $20k. Price has ran from $1k to $20k within a year period just keep that in mind.

When there is panic in the market, which there is, you will always have people who sell their BTC and altcoins even if they have a significant loss.
All the holders will have profit in the end, but you need to have patience!
Panic is not even a good thing and it is always better never to let it affect one's decision most especially for those who are long term investors. That is the idea, create fear in the minds of the weak hands so they can dump and this is because almost those people in that category invested into FOMO, were thinking of the idea of getting rich quickly and now things are going otherwise but forgetting it was actually meant to be a LONG TERM investment. However, it is normal to always see resistance at points like that.

My point is, we can't expect the price to rise and fall the same way as the last year.
We cannot expect the same to repeat but we can expect similar growth to happen in coming months as long as the potentials of bitcoin remains stronger. Those who do not have any doubts on bitcoin's future, wont sell for sure.

In my own opinion, people who will sell their coins are just in the need and most of the people who will still hold are very greedy and they might lose their profit since the market is volatile and that's when the decline comes if the price is very high.

When 2013  the highest price reached $1k, after which a few years later prices continue to decline and difficult back to $1k. and then in 2017 where prices start to touch $1k again and even reached the highest price at $19200. so the conclusion is true, we cannot expect such as last year's, even for the highest price possible reached back takes 1-3 years, and I can say this year is hard to price increases.
Your worlds comes from reasonable mind, but bitcoin price doesn`t move reasonable. Many people saw last year rise and they believe it can happen this year too, I doubt in that like you do, at least 1-3 years waiting, maybe more. After peak in 2013 people waited 4 years for big comeback, maybe we will have to wait 4 years too.
Hope has nothing with bitcoin, people hope for miracles and bitcoin is not a miracle its technology.

The price of bitcoin is very low now so people are getting panic due to this situation people won't sell the bitcoin.we know last year also bitcoin faces the same problem and atlast by the end of last december the growth would be very high. Likewise people are expecting this year also. So they dont sell now and hold it for future to gain more value.

This dip won't last forever,  and its unfortunate that many people are losing their patience. Investors whom are panicking should learn to understand that the instant you let your emotions to get a hold of you, one starts acting towards it. In this investment, one needs lost of patience.

"the people" selling it causes the decline, so how can they sell it before it arrives?? I don't think you have a valid point about bitcoin not being able to rise and fall the same way it did last year. If you are following yearly trends which it sounds like you are, then that's all you have to go by, previous yearly data. We are obviously entering a new era, where bitcoins presence is gaining attention. Massive bitcoin trades are happening away from these exchanges, which is not reflected on coinmarketcap for example.

If your indicating the price of bitcoin will increase drastically sooner than it did last year (early nov), what july/august and then fall 3 months later (oct/nov) i highly doubt it. Interesting to see how this year pans out, crypto space is unpredictable. Thats why the majority of us love it so god damn much.
Last year, Bitcoin went through many positive/negative news which made it's price grow so much over the last few months of the year.
There was a reason why BTC had grown so much and hence there should be a reason this time too for it to grow the same as the last time.
It is obvious we cant expect the same growth like the last if there is no reason for us to buy BTC.

Sorry, I don't agree because i don't think its obvious we cant expect the same growth. We are expecting MORE growth, wait until the institutions start pumping the big money into the crypto market. Im not talking a few billion here, im talking a few trillions. Wait until China to lift their ban - lots of money, wait until America jump on board properly, wait until bitcoin trading platform intergrates with the stock exchange, wait until its the masses come...the possibilities are endless. All the countries that were outlawing crypto are slowly changing their minds. People will buy bitcoin at any price, regardless.

All this you mention will need a lots of wait.  Right now people are mainly exiting crypto. Those gamblers that bought at end of 2017 are disappointed and selling to rather go in closest casino where they have at least little chance of wining and get rich fast.  This will go on all this year.  Hodlers are buying as much they can.

You got a good point, but it depends on the situation, if the rising is pretty much the same with last year then yes and maybe people will set the selling price below that point, but if the rising is slow and stable maybe it can make the traders or investors to hold longer, and we can make another ath history

We don't know, it can go faster or it won't or it will gradually decline. I hope that this year's increase and decrease is different from before and is going to be on a higher level of increase but lower level of decrease.

Price manipulation is such a pain in the ass but we can't do anything about it then some of us follows the bandwagon.

It really isn't. I would even say that manipulation helps quite some skill stacked traders to benefit in the same way whales do with their manipulation. Whale manipulation more often than not is quite obvious, and in case they are accumulating, which they massively did below $7000 a while ago, you can spot their patterns and accumulate with them. I managed to grab myself some sub $7000 coins and I am sure quite some traders did the exact same thing. Manipulation becomes an obstacle for people when they can't handle how the market responds, and in that case it's better to distance yourself from the market.

If you have commitment to need in money hope you will also sell your bit coins and alts to go with the  problems you have bro.
Personally I too not want anyone to seek the more about the selling and buying.

for now the desperation of many people who hold bitcoin, the absence of a very good rise but lately there is only a gradual decline, the price is quite expensive will not take risks to immediately buy it now, they invest more into their new coins in a long time to earn a sizeable profit equals the outgoing capital, I think with the patience that will reduce one's frustration with the current situation, there are worse people who buy for a hefty price.

People are buying right now. But it's the guys with deep pockets who are accumulating the most. Retail investors often start to buy when we are in the rally. It's a psychological thing. Buying when the price is low is what you should do. But many fear doing so. The pros however buy as much as they can while suppressing the price.
And if we should go for 19-20k again, of course there will be people selling on the way up to take some profits. However if you're smart you hold a significant amount of coins as Bitcoin tends to break through old ATH resistance instead of building a double top.

Some people sell bitcoin and some people buy bitcoin. It's what happens all the times in the market. News and many other factors determine the supply and demand and demand can be higher even if many people take out their profit. Whales also affect the prices. Note that a day the price was less that a dollar. Just look at the charts. The next wave can be very fast.
Yeah, it is a market and as long as the selling is more than the buying, we will get to see such happen. The thing is that market is not supposed to be in one way, otherwise it would not be a market and if there is no one selling, there would be no one buying. It is just funny though that some people do not understand all that but they just think things will always happen very smooth.

Whales make the most part of it, and the perception of the market at the point also makes some part of the whole equation. At the same time, we cannot say decline will arrive much faster though and that totally depends on that level if there is enough demand or volume to push it out of the way or not.

It is a psychological level as well and I expect it would be some tough resistance to break as those who have been holding all these while would see it as a means to quickly want to sell off, but that is the idea of resistance, having a retrace if it could not be broken, retesting it again and so on until it gets broken.

You are correct in your conclusion, if we were going to see a huge price increase like what we saw in the past year then the current price that is so low should not have lasted that long, the fact this bear market has lasted this long is evidence we are not going to see a bull market in this year and people should get ready to hold their coins for a very long time if they are planning to get profits in the future.

We need more adoption, we need more fresh money coming into the crypto market, as we have had problems with many banks and many governments are taking tough measures against bitcoin, so this is driving people away from buying bitcoin because of the fear that governments they are creating and many rich people still do not buy bitcoin because there are not such facilities and security that I am talking about, but in the future this will change so we will have many people buying bitcoin and the price will increase to more than $ 20,000. So even if some people sold when the price reaches $ 20,000 would not make the price drop because we would have many buyers... then we just need fresh money coming in

Not everyone is selling at the same time. This is proportional to the value of coins in the market at that moment. TAU, for example will raise its price in future due to the new exchange system, but there will be other coins that people will be buying as well. Therefore, there will be no decline in the market, it will remain at the same pace.

This totally depends on the coins that we are buying or selling. If we look at PRG, it is right now at a lower price therefore everyone should buy it and store in their wallets, however, when Paragon Space will rise its value, people will start selling it. At the same time, there will be coins that might not require sale at all, perhaps some people will be buying, thus the market will be stable and balanced.

Because, the recent situations are unfavorable for seller but favorable for buyers the current market give you the signals to invest as the market value of Bitcoin is low and this is the right time to take the benefit from this market. If you are still waiting then the market can shifts into a high market and you will miss this opportunity so do not think much and invest here now. This is not the time to sell coins and should hold it for long term till the green market.

Same scenario like last year will happened. Why would sell if the price is setting up a new all time high on literally within a short period of time.

On my own view, if the same price hype trend will happened this year, people will have a mindset that it will passed the established ATH last year, therefore majority will HODL. Expectations are really high that there will be another trip to the moon before year ends.

But since no one knows what will happened, just wait before yearend end to see what actually will happened.

Bitcoin may not take the same way this year but I think $20k is still possible to reach.
Yes bitcoin is quiet unstable right not when it pump twice it will drop thrice, but if you believe in long term holding for sure bitcoin are still worth it. We have different story now, lets deal with it and be more patient.
Yes you are right. Nothing is impossible and hence the target $20k is possible for Bitcoin to achieve but at the same time, everything has a reason.
So inorder for Bitcoin to hit $20k, it should have some solid reasons behind it so that people buy in the market. Without any reason I don't think people will be buying BTC much. The price might not even cross $12k if there are no good solid reasons why people should buy BTC.

An investor who sells bitcoin is not without reason, they have a reason to sell bitcoin. The decline that occurred in early January and then due to the many regulations that prohibit bitcoin, and consequently almost some investors sell bitcoin. This will not happen if it is not regulation from some countries and other reasons that make them have the same decision to sell. They will stay hodl or even increase their investment (buy bitcoin) if some countries accept bitcoin. The end of the year does not mean the day that investors sell the bitcoin he has.

My guess is that if Bitcoin gets back to $19,000 this year, it might have a small correction but then it will just keep  rising. Anyone that sells will regret it because it could keep rising to $30,000 or some high amount like that.

The reason I think that is because of what happened earlier in 2017. The price started the year probably under $1000 and it kept rising and everyone (including me) thought it would crash when it hit $2000 or $3000 but it just kept rising.

Bitcoin $1 to $10,000 in 9 years has broken all the fundamentals and logics.
Bitcoin will keep breaking traditional fundamentals with how small it still is. You fail to understand that while the price may have increased significantly throughout the last years, the number of available coins has never been this low. A constantly growing circle of wealthy entities will try to buy up as many coins as possible, which only further decreases the number of available coins.

If you also take into consideration that we will have various funds that are backed by actual coin supply, the market will dry up harder than ever before.

We have had various countries last year that functioned as prime example of what coin scarcity means. South Korea at a sudden point traded Bitcoin at a +$5000 premium!

Bitcoin is going back to $2,000.
Short it.

I agree, It may not rise or fall the same but We can't also deny the possibilties that it could happen. There are already cases in which the history repeats itself. Also, It has been part of the industry that we use the past trends to come up or to predict the current or the possible outcomes.

On this month i think it will never go further and perhaps 7k is enough like what others predictions, and i think the good idea for this circumstances is to keep holding and buy more instead of panicking 'cause surely before mid of june the growth rate will continue to climb again like what happened before which is the valued gradually increase and surge above.

If bitcoin can get to $19,000 it is going to be through very serious fundamentals issues and at that price this time around people will still be buying.  I didn't think that all us will be selling at the same time but I believe they are going to be people that are still going to be buying and it might be an institutional buying.

considering the increase and decrease occurs on the cause of many sales and purchases in large quantities, this possibility can happen. but maybe people will hold it for a higher increase so that the increase in bitcoin value will continue to increase in a longer time.

Obviously, we cannot expect the pump and dump because everything is decide by circulation and demand of the coin so anytime it will going to peak but Bitcoin is higher value coin so it will raise slowly.
This year we expect the quick hype in next month so we should keep calm in current scenario automatically this will going to upward.

19k It was only a peak that lasted very little. We'll see if people will actually go back to buying volume if the price goes up to 14k. This is a resistance that can define if this will be the year we will reach 50k

Your analogy is fine but the market is too complex to fit into that singular explanation. The only thing that would make it fall faster than last year is if there is no enough demand for bitcoin but if a major market player decides to buy irrespective of price, the glut would have been mopped up to nullify the theory of price crashing really fast. There is also no certainty that price would reach the all time high that was witnessed last year. Its best to approach every angle with caution.

We need to factor in why the price suddenly grow last year specially in December. Its because of CBoE and CME coming into the market. So people goes irrational that time. Buying its peak thinking that the price will continue to grow. So first I don't think that we can have the same momentum as last year because there will institutional investors coming in and second with so much talks of regulations amongst nation globally. So yeah, I would agree that we can't really expect that growth we have achieved last year this 2018.

Bitcoins has shown to be a stable currency despite  most of the setback. Traders that bought it at 18000 during last year, that same trader won't sell it at 7500 USD now for a loss.
