Yes, it's one of the biggest sporting events in the world and all, but still, if you compare it to other periods where all the major leagues (Premier League,Primera Division,Bundesliga etc. etc.) are playing, the bets worldwide would still be a lot more than there are right now. If you compare it, 1 week of world cup has around 14-15 games. On a casual Saturday there are hundreds of high profile matches alone so don't expect any significant price pop or mass adoption because of the world cup.

I agree with your point. At max it might increase revenue of the betting industry but I do not see crypto industry getting any kind of benefit from it.
