Yeah, Ive tried to set it Scryptminer up for pooling but for whatever reason, it didnt work, Ive followed instructions to a T, and Ive kind of given up.

Im OK with high variance solo mining, I know it seems odd, but remember, Im a gambler at heart. I could find 3 blocks in 25 days. Or 0. Thats gambling.  Grin

My only question is now, will the 50 LTC reward just pop into my LTC client wallet assuming I eventually find a block?
Or you could find 0 in 75 days ..  Grin

Yes, it will be seen as an incoming transaction with a label "Mined", and will be "immature" till its mature to use

You could just use pooler's minerd, not hard at all to use.

in the minerd dir, make a .bat with the following

minerd.exe -o yourpool:port -O user:pass

That's all, if you want to only mine on like 2 cores add "-t 2" to it.

BTW, solo mining at 31khash it would take 25 days on average to find 1 block.

Shouldnt the outcome be roughly the same though, in terms of total LTC? But my variance will be way higher? Im ok with that...

Especially seeing as though I tried everything to get it working with a pool and no luck, Im happy its just mining at all at this point.

So what happens IF/WHEN I find a block? Will it just pop into my LTC client wallet? I have Scryptminer set to "local host"

no way! point HALF (put half the cores of your cpu inside the miners the client has) of your cpu to a pool like notroll.in and you could make ~1-1.5 a day

According to litecoinpool.org's calculator, the probability of me finding a block at 31kh/s in 14 days is roughly 41%.

Im a gambling man, so I like my odds, I mean I could just "run good" and find one tomorrow, right?  Grin

Not sure about my temps, maybe I will reduce my overclock a bit...

How often on average will I find a block and is it even worth attempting to solomine LTC on my CPU? (I know GPU is more efficient but Im using that to mine BTC)

Ive had problems trying to configure scryptminer to pool mine LTC, despite my best efforts. But I got it working for solo mining.

However, it send my CPU core temps up to around 85-90c, this seems a bit high to be running 24/7, although Im not sure how much this would actually shorten the CPU lifespan if at all.
