Keep in mind that you are up against a very tight clock.  Ebay has it's eyes on bitcoin!

You may want to look at acquiring Bitmit

as a possible way to get quickly moving. They are recently defunct and may represent an opportunity.

I would use the hell out of this sight, as long as there was some trusted overview to make sure things got shipped.

Thanks for replying!

My plan now is to limit the site to US only for the first month or so, so I have some time to figure out all the kinks.

I'd have some verification process for sellers, and would require shipping tracking. Then once the buyer confirms receipt, the coins would move over.

Because the site would be a no-minimum auction, I dont think we would have any people trying to scam/sell expensive items. I'd hope it would just be people getting rid of games, books, movies they have for btc. I'd also seed the site with some items, and not open it to sellers right away.

I'm hoping to have the site up for testing in a week. I got really excited about bitcoins and need to act as quickly as possible while the motivation is there.

Hey,

I started working on an auction site that would allow users to list their items in a btc auction. The way I want to set it up though is that there would be only one minimum price, something like 0.001. That way we could list random crap we own but no longer use like blu rays or video games and in return get some guaranteed bitcoin.

I think it would help newbies by having an easy way to get bitcoin. Just get rid of an item in your house you no longer use. And it might be a nice place to just make purchases in a strictly btc environment to cashout btc we have and at the same time help the community by the btc going to newer users.

Would anyone use a site like this? And do you have any ideas of what you'd like to see on a btc only auction site?

I also want to never mention USD anywhere on the site. I think it would be cool to just use btc that type of way.

Thanks for reading! Now to wait 4 hours to get out of the newbie pen. Wink
