My brain would be better at mining scrypt.  No but seriously even if this was possible I wouldnt do it, it would creep me the f out.  Chips in my head?  No thanks.  Unless they also give me access to pornhub.  Then I might go for it.

Brain mining may not be so profitable just using it, and who knows what would be the side effects.
But this is definitely a great idea for the governments, imagine that every born child it's inyected in the brain with this..  Cool $$$ Cool of course they won't care about side effects.

I don't think it would be really effective as btc mining requires a lot of simple calculations.

Everybody knows that the human attention span is only 8 seconds or so, therefore, mining for 8 seconds at a time? No thanks Wink

Curmudgeonly hardware guy
I remember about a year ago there was an outfit advertising they were working on a neural-net hardware for bitcoin mining. Had a big ol' website talking about how much faster their chips were running in only a few weeks of learning, with extrapolations for the future and looking for investors to help them expand the operation. I really hope they didn't make much money off that scam, since there's pretty much no way (by design) that a complex hashing function can be reduced to recognizable patterns optimizable by a neural net. Were that the case, basically all encryption from the last 30 years would be useless.

this could be counted as mining with brain

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3dqhixzGVo

it might be fun to try it one time at least

Solving by hand is interesting.   From one of my classes in college I can still remember doing binary and hex.   Makes you really apppriciate modern technology doing that for a while.

My favorite miner is here: http://retrominer.com/

It is a NES that can mine.  I love the amount of work for something that is just for fun.

As penalty for posting the exact same thing that's one post above yours, you should - but do all 64 rounds, not just 1 Wink

serious question- Is it really possible?
Serious answer - no.

Now, practically speaking, the odds that you beat an ASIC to a valid solution are very, very...very much against you Wink

So the first post of this thread is retarded, but that link is very cool, I had not seen that before.

Given the title of this thread, I have absolutely zero interest in donating my brain. I am using it quite heavily at the moment. Of course my wife might suggest that have already done so......  Smiley

I think that interfacing a chip with the brain - and I don't just mean detecting electrical pulses in general regions of the brain - would yield things far more lucrative than Bitcoin mining Wink

If he meant a neural network chip - not seeing much of an advantage there for mining Smiley

Yes, it's possible to calculate the hash by hand... painful, but certainly possible.  I was talking about the OP's statement regarding brain ASIC chips...

The brain is a powerful computer/asic.  Would you use it to mine btc for 1 btc a day?  I know of a company that develops brain asic chip--and it is not 21 Inc.
LOL... I've only got two brain cells and they're so busy waving to each other that they don't have time to do anything else Tongue
