Since I was a child its been my dream to live on a space colony and explore the universe, I would not hesitate to leave earth.

Living on planets is only for lowtech organisms. The high tech ones will be living on bigger than planet space colony that can travel whenever they go and the weather and other natural disasters inside the spaceship are controlled.

Hell yer imagine the different types of alien poontang out there.

That's an interesting point  Roll Eyes

Shame there won't be a Bitcointalk forum though.

Why wouldn't you be able to connect to Earth internet? I'd imagine that it would be slow, but still usable.

I wasn't able to watch all the Stargate SG-1s, but did the Ancients put Stargates only on planets with exactly the same gravity? Would be a bitch to keep going between different levels, unless all the other planets you gated to had lesser gravity than the planet you spent most of your time on.

The biggest problem is that probably there would be no Bitcoin in the outer space Sad

Why wouldn't there be?
It might be a bit slow though.

I would leave, would be amazing to experience other races and see what their technology is all about.

That might take a few extra millenia (technological advances & whatnot) but who knows, maybe we can live that long by that time

Not if something terrible happens like a virus outbreak or something like a risk from space , where technology might advance sooner like it did during the world wars.

Earth's United government starts a massive space immigration program. Would you move into a giant space / surface colony to save the planet? It's a one-way ticket, no coming back, but our space program would be huge, with the ability to travel between planets & colonies. The earth is left alone to replenish itself for use as our reservoir of life.

No, I wouldn't. I will stick to our Earth. Cheesy

The body is not built for space, look at all the folks bodies that have come back.
If there was something to fight I would, otherwise meh! Grin

But the mind is...which of the two are more important?

You think the mind is capable if the body is not? That seems like a good thing to find out. Grin
If I can take my mind,I will go! You talked me into it.

I can't imagine the internet latency from Earth to other planets being very good. Going to have to stay here for my games.
Well this is quite a bad assumption. Even if there was internet connectivity between Earth and plane X, it would not be commercialized because of the sluggish speed and high latency. Only the government would have access to this. However, you would still be able to play games on the planet that gets colonized as it would probably have similar internet that Earth has.

I would definitely leave Earth behind if I had the chance, especially if I could travel to multiple planets/colonies (Stargate program?). People need to stop relying on emotions and become free. It would be great being able to explore multiple places in space. Who knows what we could encounter there?

Dude have you ever had a girlfriend? It isn't that easy to tell her.
So you have a girlfriend that annoys you but you do not want to tell her because you're going to lose her?

Battlestar Galactica

Quote
“This case… this case is built on emotion, on anger, bitterness, vengeance. But most of all, it is built on shame. It’s about the shame of what we did to ourselves back on that planet. It’s about the guilt of those of us who ran away. Who ran away. And we’re trying to dump all that guilt and all that shame on one man and then flush him out the airlock, and hope that just gets rid of it all. So that we could live with ourselves. But that won’t work. That won’t work. That’s not justice; not to me. Not to me.” – Lee Adama

Me I would stay, just send the bankers off earth any where  Cheesy
