I will be joyful to live in a blockchain city. Imagine living in that society where the tech is taken to the next level. For sure games in that city will be great as well. Even though I am sure it will be expensive, there would be different job opportunities that will open up there too.

I want to live in that city too! It will be exciting to play games there especially when it will all crypto. I wonder what kind of prizes I can win.

I think of you will play games in the blockchain city, the prizes you could win will be also crypto. Just like in online gambling. Though it will be nice to play there with your friends too. And of course, there would be jobs there that you can take in the field of blockchain industrty. Imagine living there where you pay and buy using crypto and work and get paid thru your e-wallet.

It would be great to play there, would have things and services too out of the ordinary,
and virtual wallets would be very common for anyone,
it would be like creating a dimension within this universe.

Japan seems to be building a supercity too.
“Possible features of a supercity will include, for example, autonomous vehicles moving throughout the area, cashless payments and financial settlements, and digital administration that will automatically change information on one’s bank account and driver’s license, if necessary, after a move to another municipality. Comprehensive regulatory reform will be needed to make such a supercity possible.”

Sounds like a completely livable city, right?

Now this is civilization. Of course I would! I think this is our inevitable future, but it will take widespread and paradigm-changing applications to make this a reality. It can't only be designed for rebels and idealists but for everyone to recognize and use such a world's advantages.

First step is making crypto safer, more easy to use and spreading the word!! The main problem is there is little mainstream marketing for it.

I think this is a stupid idea because blockchain technology is an independent means for payments, which is not controlled by any state. Do you know at least one state that will allow you to build a blockchain city?

At the moment, it's really just tests. On the basis of trial and error, it will be possible to create a real city based on blockchain technology in which you will be able to live.

It seems that Canada is building one... or actually it is Google building it in Canada. Now some of the people working with setting the whole thing up have found that it is a smart city that is being built for surveillance rather than privacy. See: https://www.technocracy.news/googles-sidewalk-labs-smart-cities-for-dumb-humans/:
An interesting thing happened recently in the ongoing saga that is Google’s attempt, through its subsidiary Sidewalk Labs, to build a private, fully surveilled microcity inside of Toronto. The privacy expert Google had hired to assuage concerns over the dangers of a neighborhood built to collect data on its inhabitants, has stepped down.

A year into Google’s efforts to build a mini “smart city” on Toronto’s waterfront, Ann Cavoukian, the former privacy commissioner for the province of Ontario, announced that she was leaving her role as a consultant for the project. “I imagined us creating a Smart City of Privacy, as opposed to a Smart City of Surveillance,” she explained in a letter. “Your personal information, your privacy is critical,” Cavoukian has said. “It is not just a fundamental human right. It forms the foundation of our freedom.”

It’s commendable, this repudiation of Google on behalf of fundamental rights but also rather astounding if we’re being honest—and charitable—to imagine a privacy expert believing that Google had ever planned to build anything other than a smart city of surveillance. Cavoukian’s involvement in the Quayside project, named for the Toronto neighborhood where the proposed neighborhood will be built, had focused on the importance of masking the identity of people connected to the harvested data. “I felt I had no choice because I had been told by Sidewalk Labs that all of the data collected will be de-identified at source,” she said.

Cool

I think that's the sad and bitter part to this tech revolution. We are somehow exponentially improvising the tech but falling into tech slavery where nothing is private and anybody whenever they wish can control you. We've already seen this with China using mass citizen surveillance.

A blockchain smart city is set to be built in Nevada.

“The planned city will encompass, among other projects, a highly-secured, high-tech park that joins blockchain technology with artificial intelligence (AI), 3D printing and nanotechnology; residential units that will provide a new living environment to thousands; and various financial, business and retail concepts that will take advantage of emerging technologies.”

Could this be our future Utopia?

It depends on what this "smart city" is going to be like. Would I still have my own privacy or can the government in this smart city see my every move, even in the comfort of my own home? If I can still have my privacy and they will let me live my life in peace without me having to worry about watching my back then I would gladly live in a smart city. If I have to give out my privacy for a digitized world, then I'm not sure I would still agree to living in a smart city. Would you?

Of course, that seems amazing. Love smart city idea in a whole.

I agree. Sounds like a solution to all our regular city's current problems. I mean with the aid of blockchain and AI, transactions could be seamless, processes (no matter the industry) will be streamlined and general order in society can be enforced. Sounds ideal, to be honest.

Agreed. A lot of this smart cities don't value privacy that much. Sure it's a high tech city where everything is probably digitized, but when it comes to having a privacy? Yeah. Good luck having one. Most likely the Mayor/government of that smart city will have access to everything about you and your family.

It will be interesting to be able to live in a smart city that has traffic, utilities, and documentation that is completely automated. But the change in city construction isn't just one minute, and the launch of new technology takes time. It may take years for blockchain technology to interact with IoT, artificial intelligence and large data, to be integrated to manage urban services and public infrastructure.

Yes, for sure it will take time to incorporate and develop these technologies in the city. It certainly takes time for us to adopt new technologies within our own cities, right? But it’s just fascinating that thanks to technology, we can envision and build better cities in the future. Do you agree?

That's interesting to live with Blockchain smart city, but with our current lives here in our country I think it is impossible here to happen because we don't have here a high technology, unlike to other countries that it is simple to them to make good gadgets and new technologies that can make their community live simple.

Perhaps this so-called smart city gives us a glimpse of what are future would be like? These are all technologies we are currently developing, right? AI, Blockchain etc... Some say these are revolutionary technologies. I think there's no denying the fact that our future will be highly dependent on these technologies. Do you agree?
