Why on earth are you guys still providing publicity to that shameless fool on earth? Craig Wright is an attention-seeker who clearly doesn't care about others opinions and this fact will never change.

Smart people like Cobra ignore such fools which is why him not appealing against the lawsuit doesn't surprise me at all.

What surprises me is that some people continue providing publicity to that idiot to this day. Tip: Don't waste your precious time discussing stuff related to imbeciles like Wright.

Farewell, Leo
How can you win a lawsuit if you don't expose yourself? I mean, it doesn't matter if Craig won it or not; how can you accuse a person no one knows? Besides that, how can you prove to someone that you, indeed, wrote a whitepaper back in 2009 if you don't own the domain that firstly included it and neither a signed message from the public key that it was marked in bitcoin.org?

Does he deny all that? Does he also deny the fact that Satoshi used to discuss in this forum? That that Satoshi was a “fake” one? I'm just wondering how he'd justify to me what really happened back in 2009.

I'd really want him to somehow be forced to prove of being Satoshi. Gavin had said that he provided him a message along with a signature from block 1's rewarding address; no idea why he didn't announced it publicly.  Roll Eyes

I really hope this ruling won't be used as a precedent in any other cases of CWS, would be really bad if the law decided to see him as Satoshi. Imagine if CWS could now automatically takedown Bitcoin-related sites because of this stupid case. But you can't blame Cobra for this, everyone has a right to privacy, including to stay anonymous on the Internet.

I don't believe anymore that courts are judges are really independent and they can be easily bribed by anyone including Faketoshi, but this is low even for them.
Cobra should probably move hosting for his website in some South American country that is out of the reach of UK and continue business as normal, but Faketoshi will now be inspired to continue with his stupid attacks.

Default judgements are common when someone doesn't respond to a lawsuit.  In this case it was stupid, but not unexpected when he wouldn't respond to it.  It really has no value though except limited to that particular person and case.

No doubt CW will misrepresent what it means.

And he will use this winning to spread more lies. So yeah, wondering how can they ask payment from Cøbra if they don't know his identity? Or CW camp is not really interested about the payment but to declare that he wins in this lawsuit without any concrete evidence that he is indeed the original author. This is really sad as we have an impostor who is continuously giving lies to the crypto community.

I thought for a moment and your thoughts have entered my brain. and the frequency of your questions is the same.. I'm just trying to assume so allow me to express it here. based on the results of the supreme court decision that cobras are willing to be fined, among others:
 1. As you mentioned above, Craig could have played behind the jury and asked Cobra to do everything, to keep Cobra's reputation and identity safe.

 2. Cobra tries to trick Craig and is willing to pay a fine to keep all the elements that had fought last night in order. because if he did show authentic evidence the impact would be huge and lead to more pressure from outsiders and behind-the-scenes management.

That's like someone starting a business, handing it over to another, and then coming back 12 years later and asking for all of the profits.

Satoshi, whoever he was, handed over the website, bitcoin.org, to others. The white paper lists bitcoin.org. Satoshi developed the bitcoin-core client, and the white paper describes that (as well as many cryptos). The sourceforge site where the code was originally uploaded to listed the MIT 2.0 license and white paper.

W made a claim that he was hacked in 2015, after "losing" a single file that he claims to have bought. That type of story raises many eyebrows, such as: why would anyone not have that crypto transferred to his own wallets? Also, why would W have to buy crypto so many years if he had invented it?

Craig Wright who claimed that he has created the bitcoin whitepaper, surprisingly wins the lawsuit against Cøbra (Bitcoin.org domain administrator)
Cøbra lost the lawsuit, not because Craig Wright proved his claim. Cøbra lost the lawsuit because he didn't defend himself as he didn't want to reveal his identity.

Craig Wright Wins Bitcoin Copyright Lawsuit Against Pseudonymous Developer

We all know Faketoshi (Craig Wright) is not satoshi and I don't want to discuss about that here.
Although it was clear that Cøbra would not defend himself, I did not expect Craig Wright to win the lawsuit.

What surprises me is how Craig Wright could win the lawsuit while he didn't prove that he has created bitcoin whitepaper.
Does it mean any one else could sue Cøbra and wins the lawsuit without proving anything? It's really ridiculous.

According to the court decision, Cøbra must pay £35,000. How can they get the money from a person they don't know?
Of course, Cøbra is willing to pay the money to real satoshi.

The meaning of it will likely be misrepresented.

This is without a doubt a sad day for bitcoin, but that is the way the legal system works, someone can accuse someone else of anything and if the other person does not present itself to court then he losses automatically.

However I like the how Cøbra is dealing with this, he is proposing to send the payment to one of the known addresses of Satoshi, if Wright is who he says he is then he should not have any problem getting access to those coins, but as fun as that may seem it is likely they will try to force him to pay to an address Wright currently controls.
