so it eventually worked.. just had to be patient. I've never had that happen so it was a little worrying there for a bit. Thanks for the help anyway guys! Cheers

Good to know the problem is sorted now.

For your information, bitcoin qt will rebroadcast your unconfirmed transaction again and again.
As long as your transaction is having enough fee (0.0001 btc per kB), it will get confirmed soon.

so I'm just using the qt on win 7

The difference in balance between the blockchain and what my wallet says (after initial transaction) is .1 btc off.

For example:

qt balance = 0.56455993 BTC (1.5btc before 1btc transaction sent to exchange)
blockchain balance = 1.43475993 BTC

The transaction is showing up in my client as sent yet there are no confirmations to support it.

First off, how do I "reset" my balance, if that's possible. I just finished a rescan with no change to the client balance.

Also, why are my two balances different? I'm obviously more worried about the coinage in limbo atm so helping resolve that issue is my priority. Thanks again!

SO I'm trying to send btc to an exchange.. As soon as I sent it my comp crashed.. now my balance is wrong, the btc is gone, no transactions have verified it but my wallet says it's been sent. I checked the blockchain and that's even giving me a different number. How can I fix this issue? Thanks in advance

Which wallet client are you using? Bitcoin Core? Multibut? Electrum? or Armory?
