Wall Street journal is saying a bitcoin related services is being used by criminals? Cheesy
what else is new... haha.
as far as i can remember they have been saying the same thing and attacking bitcoin one way or another.

Exactly my thought. They have been on the offensive about bitcoin so its no surprise that they came up with this non sense.

We should really look for alternatives now and not just rely solely on Shapeshift. I'm pretty sure that other platforms will come along without any KYC requirements.

An investigative report has been published regarding the popular crypto exchange ShapeShift AG, a firm that is registered in Switzerland.

Money laundering is the problem at hand, and the report highlights a potentially worrying theme: that ShapeShift enables anonymous users to convert Bitcoin–which authorities can’t track–into other digital currencies that allow for much more anonymity.

If anyone is not aware of Shapeshift recently enforced KYC before using their platform. Anyone was caught off guard because we all know that its the top platform majority of us are using to convert our our coins. But with the latest implementations, a lot of us decided not to use them. Perhaps this is one reason what the sudden move of having a KYC.
