Yeah, that's the one I was looking at.  Why is it you think it's a scam?

A simple google search will return you many horror stories of BFL non-deliveries or deliveries way after the promised date. Do you ever wonder why they only accept non-reversible payments like btc and bank deposits? So you can't initiate a chargeback when you've realized you've basically given them a 0% interest rate loan of $2100 with nothing to show for it.

Here's one of many stories about them:

BFL has an extremely long history of offering "preorders" and then delivering about 600 years later. If at all. Just an observation.

I dont understand why people still buy BFL products... It's like throwing BTC into the sea... Why don't you throw them to me instead? Roll Eyes

This double layer of protection is not valid.
Even if you chargeback with your AmEx card, PayPal will not honor, therefore leaving you with a negative balance on your PayPal account.
That's a lot of money to lose/owe.

I hope the deal works for you, man.
Good luck.
I tried to help with an honest trade. Smiley

To me, the safest way to buy BTC is through an exchange, in person, or with a trusted member. But NEVER, EVER buy large amounts from a individual, unless it's in person.

hmmm.. I didn't know that.  The paypal account is actually my wife's, since last I checked they only allowed 1 account per address, and she needs it for her Etsy store.  I just did some more research and found out it is against paypal terms of service too, so it could get our paypal account frozen that way too, and we can't afford to have that happen.  Well, damn.  I guess I'm screwed.  I'll have to go the slow way or maybe do a face to face with geoffreyqp that just offered a face to face.  He's only a little over an hour away.  I also read that there is a bitcoin vending machine in Vancouver BC I could take a trip up there tomorrow I guess.  Would have to be on Saturday though so my wife could drive, my medical issue makes it a bad idea for me to drive unless it's an emergency.  Bleh, I really didn't want to go out.  My head is going to be killing me by the time I get home,  The cluster headaches I get make me really light sensitive.

Thanks for the info.  I canceled the deal I had made for a paypal transaction.  Felt really bad doing it, didn't mean to waste anyone's time.

Oh crap... I'm a moron   Embarrassed  I just got an email from the company selling the miner that they accept bank transfer.  (I actually offered them gold)  Somehow I thought they only accepted bitcoin.  /bonk self on head.  Soooo....  I guess I'll just send them a wire transfer...

false alarm people...  Nothing to see here.    Cool

I don't have the cash for 2, but at least I can get one.  600Ghps here I come.

I can do it for MG/WU, but I won't cover the fees.
My price is bitstamp+8% (roughly Gox rate at the moment).

You can check my extensive feedback in my thread in signature (in italian, but easily translated) and a couple more feedbacks here --> https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/closed-374845

Be very careful with Paypal, that's a lot of money to lose.

yeah, I know.  that's part of the reason I want to use paypal.  Mostly it's because I'm already set up with them and it's easy, but with Paypal I can pay the paypal with American Express.  That way if someone tries to scam me I can do a chargeback through AmEx if paypal didn't handle it.  that gives me 2 forms of protection.  I really hope it doesn't come to that, but at least I have an out if I don't receive what I'm promised.  I would never do a chargeback on someone that delivered.  After I posted this I've been doing a lot of reading and I understand there are people that do, so I really didn't expect to get an offer after that.  But I did get an offer at a fair price so wish me luck.

And thanks to the guy making the offer.  I won't use your name here since I haven't been authorized to do so.  But I really appreciate it.  If it all goes sideways though, I will let you all know.

Thanks everyone!

I would never do a chargeback on someone that delivered.

Lots of people have said that before - and five minutes later they scam someone. Not saying that it's you, but in general newbies and Paypal don't go so well as one of the major requirements for a proper PP trade is for trust to happen, and anyone can make a throwaway newbie account.

Hi everyone.

I'm looking to buy 6.5 bitcoins with paypal.  I want to buy a new bitcoin miner and they only take bitcoins, this would allow me to buy 2 of the ones I want.  I I'm new here so that could be a trust issue, I don't really know how to build trust here other than to do a transaction and follow through.  If it helps my ebay handle is also Korxax, I assume there is some way to look up user profiles there so you can see my rating.  I haven't bought anything there for several years but I always paid same day so I have an excellent ebay rating.  If you are willing to sell me some of the bitcoins but not all that's fine, hopefully that would allow me to build up some trust with even more people.  I'd prefer not to have to make 100 transactions to get to what I'm looking for though, lol.

If you are interested in helping me out, let me know ASAP because the miner I want is on sale and they don't have that many left.
