Nice read about how this guy lost BTC on coinbase. Always use 2 fact Authentication!

The higher BTC goes up in price the bigger the target Bitcoiners become.

How to lose $8k worth of bitcoin in 15 minutes with Verizon and Coinbase.com

It begins with a text message from Verizon

i have two way sent up for withdraw on both nicehash and coinbase Smiley

Do you mean 2FA or two factor authentication? 2FA eliminates the VAAAAST majority of threats.

Google Authenticator is pretty easy to use.

If you're forced to keep your coins on an exchange for the time being, I urge you to make sure you have a strong alphanumeric password & what's even more important - Two Factor Authentication enabled. I recommend Google Authenticator rather than 2FA via sms, since I've read about cases of people who had text messages / calls redirected by hackers. Stay safe.

hi guys, well there is a two month waiting list on there site and now €99
Better to be safe during these days that there is a nano ledger s who have been victimized by a greedy reseller.
No.1 rule, don't trust that much in the web if they are not the manufacturer.

is coinbase ok to keep my coins in? as this is what i do
No, I wouldn't keep most of my coins on an exchange. As an alternative you can use electrum or any desktop wallets that you hold the private keys.

I'll share you a little thought of mine. Before I saw people that are reselling nano ledger s and I'm interested of picking that one because it came from black Friday sale and I missed that one. But good thing that I ordered through direct website / manufacturer of ledgerwallet and few weeks later, this news came out.

I feel sorry about that guy but this is the feeling.
Worth the wait bro.

i mine in nicehash and then send money on payout to coinbase
if i mine just eth, it goes to ethmine and then again send the money to coinbase

Worth the wait bro. Buy new from the manufacturer.

I never leave any of my coins on any exchange as you never do own the private keys and the risk of hacking is always there.

But they have an extra security feature called the vault.

Sometimes your money belongs in different places. This is why we keep some cash on hand, in a checking account, and in a savings account. Similarly, Coinbase users have the ability to organize funds into different 'wallets' as part of a Coinbase account - a standard 'wallet' or a 'vault' account.

A vault can receive funds like a normal wallet, but can also prevent stored funds from being immediately withdrawn by adding optional security steps. Users can also choose to split ownership between multiple users and email accounts, requiring these users to approve of a transaction before it can be completed.

A vault is created as a separate account in which to store funds.

1.Navigate to https://www.coinbase.com/accounts or select Accounts from the top of the page
2.There you will see an option to create a new account
3.You'll have the option to pick a currency:

You should use that in the meanwhile whilst you await the new nano

There really isn't any risk of you having your coins stolen, if if you purchase a used one. The reddit link previously posted was a RARE exception. You can buy a used one and generate a new seed, and you'll be completely protected. It will be much cheaper than buying new.

I would not buy the ledger anywhere else but from the manufacturer directly. Read what happened to this guy when he bought off of ebay

 https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/7ojvca/i_am_the_guy_that_lost_25000_due_to_ledger_scam/

There is too much money at stake to take any chances. You are better off waiting for the new batch to come out then to buy online from an unknown source!!

If you're not in a rush, I would advise ordering straight from their website. Otherwise you'll end up paying a huge premium (check ebay for example, prices are insane).
