Even if you win you can just ask the seller to cancel the listing which he probably will if you're not going to pay. If he insists that you pay and you don't the worst you'll get is a non-paying bidder mark on your account, but unless you do this all the time it won't matter and no one else will know.

They  have changed that, you can only retract if the description changed or you entered the wrong amount say $500 instead of $50.

Contact the seller and tell them you have changed your mind.  Maybe they can cancel your bid.  Don't wait until the last hour!

That is pretty vague im going to have to decline.

Just to clear this up to, this is for someone who has an ebay acct they do not care about or that is a throwaway. The bid +$5 could very well be the winning bid. I wouldnt offer to pay someone for a bid unless there was a chance that I might win this auction.

My solution will unbind you from the bid. I will not be checking this thread. If you need to contact me, please PM.

I bidded on an item and it still has a day or two left, but due to life events I dont think I want it anymore(and something better came along).

I have a really good rating and dont want to ruin it by being a non paying bidder.

I really only need a +5 dollar bid and more than likely someone will bid towards the close, I just dont want to take any chances.

I dont really know what to pay but shoot me an offer and ill shoot you the auciton.

Aren't you able to cancel/withdraw your bid, esp with so much time remaining?

Back when I used eBay you could do that.
