Saying that he said he saw them go for $70 makes me think that this guy you are buying for is just a liar/flake, if what crazyates said is true then thats really some bs.  Granted I'm not going to go to ebay and check it out myself, but just based on this I've decided I don't want to deal with this person, even if it is through a third party.  So good luck!

hey sorry im just going off what he said. hes currently watching two auctions that arnt even above 50 yet.
Like i said i will ask him what he is looking to spend and get back to everyone asap

Hey I love watching low auctions as much as the next guy. I"m just telling you there have none to date that have actually sold for that low. If he wants an 8 core, he's looking at around 120-140 average.

Auctions do tend to go up in price. FYI.

I believe am3+ is newer in general.  Backwards compatible does not mean "the exact same thing" am3+ CPU for example often won't boot in an am3 mobo without a bios update.  (Sometimes even with one.)

AM3 and AM3+ is the exact same thing.

Some 890FX chipsets will support the AM3 cpu's eg. Crosshair iv, MSI-890FXA-GD70...

Not from me!  Honestly if I were to sell I would buy either 8150 or piledriver ASAP.  I don't need the system so I can afford to have it sit for a little while.

NCIX USA and Canada has them brand new for $149 right now....
Newegg is $160. And yet ebay completed listings show some that sold for 199.  Shocked Roll Eyes

Sure--certainly not $70.  That is hardly worth the trouble of removing the heat sink.  If you are hoping for am3+ for $70 I'm not so sure you are going to have a good time.
I got an Athlon II X3 445 that I was using before my Bulldozer I would sell for 70.  Wink Cheesy Grin

i will send offers tonight after i talk with thre person who actually is looking to buy it. i know hes been looking on ebay and has said hes sen a few go for around 70 or so. where werre they out when i bought mine lol.

70? No. I just checked ebay's completed listings for FX-8120s, and I don't see a single one that sold for less than 100. Most were around the ~120-140 range, which is what I bought mine for.

Ya mine's got the tin and fan as well. And by less than a month I really meant 2 weeks, as I just checked my email for the order date. It's been one hell of a month. Tongue

I got an AMD FX-8120 that's less than a month old. 8 core that dynamically overclocks up to 4.0GHz. Works great, and I might be willing to part with it. PM me an offer.
