Clueless!
Hi everyone! Recently I've joined with some friends who are looking to source miners for a new facility in the Eugene, Oregon area (USA). The facility will hopefully be able to support up to 2 MW of equipment.

We are looking for 200-300 of Antminer T17 or similar models. Bitmain is fully sold out of btc miners right now, and I figured that this is the best place to ask around.

I'm looking for any opportunities or ideas you guys have about how we might be able to get our hands on a decent quantity of Bitmain's newer miners (S17, T17, S15, etc.). Or, perhaps we should take the plunge and get some M20S?

Please tell me your opinions on this. I have plenty of technical skill to manage the miners but little experience sourcing miners of my own..

I would say try getting this one.

shoot me a pm I will give you a contact name.

Not gonna work for me. Maybe the guy in Oregon. I'm at 12c kWh. (sh*t maybe I should contact the guy in Oregon...no help here in the midwest)

Whatsminer m21 stats

Here is the profit ratio now at my 12c kWh. (groan!)

https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/microbt/whatsminer-m21

Period

Income     /day     $11.65 (0.0012 BTC)

            /month   $349.46 (0.0381 BTC)

           /year    $4,193.56 (0.4576 BTC)

As a guess, I'd take the above and toss half of the income from the calculator away. Guessing on 1) end of August/Sept Delivery 2) The difficulty rise (Bitmain see below) and

folks turning on their old ASIC equipment, IF, the price shoots past 10k USD. (again a guess)

sheesh...I need to frigging move to Oregon. I assume there is also a 25% China Tariff on these, plus the 2.6% import fee and calculated shipping to the USA was $85 estimate.

Things tend to pile up. Anyway, for what it is worth, what my calculations show.

Do your own calculations but with above it may even be too rich for Oregon Electric Rates. Sad

p.s. Also, remember Bitmain in conjunction with Hydro Electric utility partnerships for 'unused' excess hydroelectric power (they also have had a lot of rain, etc) Anyway, Bitmain

is gonna spend the summer blowing up BTC difficulty through the summer they have announced. More than one way to use that excess Bitmain equipment!

All and All, at least till around September with Bitmain and above and *hopefully* Tariff relief by then in the USA...the ancient Chinese curse applies: May you live in interesting times!

Well, at least I know where I stand on this. No miner for me land.

Thank you both for the suggestions. I did a few ROI calculations and such and we ended up going with some T17s from offordscott as a test, hopefully buying more later.

Still looking for any opportunities or group buys if they become available.

This is probably your best bet. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.51357696

That takes you to offordscotts listings, he's a broker who posts all his listings in that thread but doesn't really search out into the Marketplace. Not sure if those are still available, but he's probably your best line on getting something sooner rather than latter. He also had a post somewhere about bulk M20 models.
