underground tobacco trafficking has become a really big deal in the states. There's a great documentary about it.

As a note, it's a $5k fine for the first offense, $10k for the second.  Plus the state charges, if any.

This is definitely illegal. Sending one or two packs isn't going to cause a problem, but sending 10 packs, 10 times per month will get you a visit from the cops.

If you didn't specifically want Newports, I have native status and can get bags/bundles of cigs off the Six Nations reserve in Ontario...about $15/200 cancer sticks (plus a couple bucks for fuel surcharge to go get the damn things, and shipping)

Are those branded at all or local grown/rolled jobbers?

I might be interested if you give me an idea of total price including shipping to the US.

FYI, I strongly recommend people look into local and federal laws about tobacco traveling over state lines. I was shocked to see how much trouble one can get into for doing it. Unless you can buy the cigarettes with the local tax stamp it is considered trafficking and tax evasion. The other legal way to do it is to import from outside of the country, even then there is a limit. I just want any potential sellers to be informed. I will continue to research legal avenues to this.

Your best bet would be to find someone in Virginia.  Outside of the cities you can get a carton of Camel's for $42 after tax.  Next time I am at my local ciggy shop I can check on the price of Newports, however I would not be able to assist in these transactions.

The cost of cigarettes is high by me. I would like to find somebody in the USA who can supply me with cheaper cigarettes. Please PM me how much a carton in your area costs after tax. I can pay with coins or paypal. I will go first if you have lots of rep. Escrow for non established members. Thanks.
