https://www.catawiki.it/l/37844031-banksy-di-face-tenner

A friends of mine has visited dismaland but it was impossible get anything Sad since he was there on the last days of opening

Thanks for the info! I figure if I would ever be able to own anything Banksy it would be this note, not to mention it’s just pretty damn cool. I’m in the middle of a move right now and haven’t had much time to research so it’s
Much appreciated.

I located two other sources for Di-Faced Tenners with provenance from Steve Lazarides, who used to be Banksy's agent. One is at Lazarides' website where he is selling single Di-Faced Tenners for 1250 GBP.

It's already sold out ! It's listed but you can't buy Smiley .

I have found another listing through invaluable.com (John Moran Auctioneers)
https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/banksy-b-1974-british-di-faced-tenner-2004-offset-83-c-0b3464a854

Well, that was fast. They were not sold out this afternoon at banksycaptured.com ... I added one to the cart and almost bought but hesitated to commit. Just was not sure it would hold value with only a COA from Lazarides.

Thanks @bitbollo nice catch, that framed Di-Faced Tenner was originally auctioned by Bottleneck Gallery. Does make me wonder why the seller is letting it go though. I located two other sources for Di-Faced Tenners, also with provenance from Steve Lazarides, who used to be Banksy's agent. One is at Lazarides' website where he is selling single Di-Faced Tenners for £1250. The second is from the online store of Andipa Gallery at £1500. I have no idea if you can really trust the provenance from either, but certainly safer than buying on eBay.

The Urban Art Association is a good source for info about Banksy art. Here is a link on how to spot a forged single Di-Faced Tenner. I would never buy one online, I would want to look at the note in person using a jeweler's loupe.

If you have contacts in the art world you might be able to locate a single authentic Di-Faced Tenner for sale if you take the time to look and are patient. I think most collectors are hanging on to them for future appreciation. You will never see a legit COA from Pest Control for a single Tenner ... only the sheets. If you really want provenance you should consider bidding on a full sheet of Di-Faced Tenners that occasionally come up for sale at Sotheby's or Christie's. There is also the possibility that some will show up on BBay.

Prints made by Banksy would definitely be cool, I'd be happy with one of those for sure.  I might even purchase a reproduction just to have the piece to maybe display, but would only purchase this piece if it clearly stated that in the listing or on the bill ( small ) somewhere.

No other Banksy experts here? This info really isn't easy to come by, and ever more so easy to find where it's actually legitimate.

You most likely will not see them in public auctions, and should probably just buy a cheap replicate if you really want one. He still has most of the original bills i think, although I cannot imagine he would keep them. They were being used as real currency, which means they could argue he was counterfeiting bills.

Yeah you're right about the counterfeiting aspect.  Apparently Banksy never really thought of the counterfeit aspect and when he realized people were starting to use them as real bills, this is when he hung on to the majority of those Lady Di notes.  What I'm curious about is all those other notes he made , or apparently made..info is not the easiest to come by.

I’m a huge fan of Banksy, I’d even take one of the remakes just to have one because that sounds very unique. Let me know if you find one!

there are reproductions for as low as 10 bux on eBay

This link should give you a head start on how to spot a fake from genuine. Assume anything on eBay is fake. Banksy's authentication board, Pest Control, do not issue COAs for the Di-Faced Tenners so buyer beware. I believe prices for real Tenners are between $5000 - $10000.

Much thanks BitcoinNewsMagazine ! I was certainly leery immediately when I found those bills on eBay. So as far as it goes for Lady Di these things are pretty rare.  Curious  about the lithograph prints, how many made etc. Also about all those others notes, like the US dollars.

(Will be doing my own homework of course but this isn’t the easiest thing to get good reliable info on I’m finding).

In regards to GrossDomesticProfuct , anyone know what mintages were like roughly and how long it took to sell everything out? Just curious.

edit - the seller has listed it as a reproduction, so removing my post. I first thought he was trying to pass a fake off for the real thing.

I actually just found out about these notes a couple days ago, surprisingly. Being that many who frequent this board are numismatists/art collectors I figured maybe someone might have one or two laying around or could provide a little edu. From research I’ve done I read he made about 1 million pounds worth of the Princess Diana notes and a multitude of others.

Would love to buy one of these but also just curious if anyone has a good beat on these. How could you differentiate real form fake etc
