well "dumbass" in that case your post still doesnt make sense since a 5870 comes in both 1 and 2GB versions, and 5870x2 with 2x2GB == 2x 5870 2GB in crossfire.

I'm talking about Ref cards dumbass. The correct name for 2gb Ref card is 5870 Eyefinity 6.

If you're talking about all variance of the cards, you have a small dick syndrome. (Not to mention the fact that variances arent available world wide.)

Say the dumbass who thinks Thermalright and Thermaltake are the same company.

If you are going to call someone else a noob you better get your own numbers correct.  a 5970 is not like a xfire 5850. A 5850 has only 1440 shaders. A 5870 and 5970 has 1600. So a 5970 is like 2x 5870 just clocked at 5850 speeds.

Dumbass, reread my post. > means greater

5870x2 also > 5870 xfire because of more Vram

B4 making a comment, make sure you understand what you read.

Thank you dumbass

It's 15% faster than a 5970 in games, no idea how it performs in opencl, but definitely not worth it at its current price.
Also, it draws more power than a 5970, you need 2x8 + 1x6 pin PSU cables for each of them.

Dear OP,

Welcome to 2009.

5970 = 1600 stream cores at lower clock > 5850 Xfires
5870x2 = 1600 stream cores at stock clock , 2 GB VRAM  Xfire > 5870 Xfire

Your 5970 is 1GB Vram xfires, hence your game is limited at 1GB ram.

Yours truly,
ps. what a noob

5970s have a lower clock- i've heard it said that they are more like 2 5850's in crossfire but don't quote me because I've never been able compare and i haven't read enough to really know

Yeah, they've been around for a while. Theoretically, they should be a little faster than a 5970. Probably more power hungry too. Doesn't warrant the price tag for mining. Gaming on the other hand, it would probably kill a 5970. 4GB, 5870 clocks...
