No not hacked, there was a trick to upgrade them for 2 years but it got patched and all this accounts got downgraded back to free.

The cheapest solution is to probably get a student Spotify account for USD 5/month.

what you think is correct. hope you all get your refunds. i wouldnt recommend accepting shared accounts as replacements as they dont tend to last long.
