Ok, so this is the deal:

1- ANACS will not write its a double error coin, they will write its an error coin.

2- My other 2011 coins got MS-66  Grin

I am curious if that is considered an error or not...I though he funded a bunch of 25s after the stamped date also.

Worse case they just label it an Error, best case, Double Error.

I have another error coin I mailed to ANACS last week that was also funded in 2012. I will call them 9am and explain.

Ill let you all know what they say!

The one I bought from you is a double error in that case. It's at ANACS right now. I didn't know about this double error so the label is not going to state it.

I cannt believe that elianite marketing ploy is working!.. double error... seriously?

When I send it in for grading, Im going to try and get ANACS to list it as 'Double Error'

Do report back as to how that goes. I'm very interested to see how it will grade.
Looks like I 'coined' a new coin.

I would be interested in knowing the exact number of these double errors compared to the regular error and the non-error coins.

Yeh I'm gonna sms mike tomorrow and ask him. Will report back

Just purchased this.

I used Casascius full list to figure out that only a few hundred of these double error coins exist.

Care to post a list of the double error addresses?

Sure, Ill try tomorrow.

Its not difficult to figure out if your coin is one of them, just check when it was funded, if it was funded in 2012 but is of version 1, its a double error.

I am selling my Casascius '2011' Series 1 error coin.
2011 is in brackets because this coin was not actually funded in 2011 by Casascius, but in the early morning hours of Janruary 1, 2012!

The date of this coin is special in 3 different ways:
1. Its date of funding is in 2012, though it is a 2011 V1... I suppose we could call this a 'Double Error'
2. It was funded in the same batch as V2 coins, making it among the LAST of the famous 2011 errors!
3. It was of the 1st batch of any physical Bitcoin created in 2012

I believe that this coin is special not only for its famous error and being the first physical bitcoin, but due to it being a lasting demonstration of Mike Caldwell's dedication and tireless efforts in creating his coins. What were you doing on New Year's in 2012? Mike for one was working, funding this special coin with '2011' printed on it, even though the clock had ticked past that year. Who knows; maybe he lost track of time all together!

Photos below; its in truly excellent quality, kept in a coin flap.

Please, post your offers below, and I will look to sell. Im also trying to gauge interest in this 'double error'. send me your offers!
