Several years ago I bought a container of silver shot. its wrapped with a label and is says.
ONE DOLLAR In Silver Nuggets
As approved by Secretary of the Treasury June 4, 1963, Public Law 88-36.
May be secured only by presenting in person one silver certificate to United States
Assay Office, 115 Hermann Street, San Francisco, Cal. at the monetary value of
1.292929292 per fine troy ounce on or before June 24, 1968.
This is the last time you could turn in your paper dollar silver certificates and get back real silver...
