BUYERS, PLEASE USE ESCROW FOR THIS, OR ELSE I'LL LAUGH AT YOU LATER.
Yes.  Yes indeed.  If you sent me dozens of bitcoins without using an escrow service, you have no business having that much money in bitcoins in the first place.

Why would you buy "basically a 5850" for mining purposes for ~$600 when you could just get a 5850 for 25% of that...
You wouldn't.  First, I don't expect to get even close to $600.  The card just isn't worth that.  Like I said, you can buy from ebay at $500 if you shop around, an spending that much on a GPU you probably should shop around.  If I sell this for $300-$400, I'll consider it a great deal (for me).  Between the age on the card and the inherent risks assumed with buying using BTC from a user on the forum, there is a substantial markdown from the new, off the shelf prices from well-established dealers.  I know this, and would never expect an offer nearly as high as ~$600.

What you would buy this for is running professional applications (if you have to ask which ones, this card probably isn't for you).  However, since this is a bitcoin forum, I suspect the buyer would at least be curious what its mining potential is, for mining in the off-time, as I have used it.

This isn't really your market.... probably better off on ebay and converting to BTC, even after fees.
To clarify my motives:  I thought the software I was using (primarily Solidworks) would need a professional GPU (i.e. FirePro or Quadro), since that is what I had always run it on, so I sank about $700 on this card shortly after it came out.  Since then, I bought a Radeon 6970 and found that everything is perfectly smooth (perhaps in 1,000+ item assemblies the difference the optimized drivers give will become apparent, but I don't work on that scale right now).  I have a lot of capital invested in this card, and wouldn't mind putting that capital somewhere else.  Perhaps into Bitcoin Max (Pirate Pass Through).  Perhaps a preorder for a BFL Jalapeno.  Maybe to get a Crossfire setup, for gaming (with added hashing benefit).  I don't have an immediate need to sell, and don't want to deal with ebay.  I do want to help the bitcoin economy, so I listed it here.  If it doesn't sell for months (or ever), I won't shed a tear.  If someone is looking to help the bitcoin economy and to pick up a used card at a used price, they can offer.

Sorry if the original post looked scammy.  I'm new to the forums, as my low post count will attest to.  If there is any (reasonable) way I can demonstrate the legitimacy of the offer, I will do it.  If this listing isn't of interest to you, thanks for reading; if it is, let me know and I'll see if we can work something out.

I have a FirePro v7800 graphics card that I can't really justify having any more.  I purchased it when building a workstation about a year and a half ago in order to run SolidWorks and a few other professional programs, but they are all handled more than adequately by the Radeon 6970 that I have dedicated for mining.  You can read specs on this card at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814195098.  It is the actively cooled version, not v7800P.

Some quick specs:
SINGLE SLOT!
~150W power draw (approx.  Haven't measured myself)
1x6 pin PCIe power
~270-280 MH/s when well cooled, ~220 MH/s (If you want to mine with it.  Not really the best card for mining)

It is basically a Radeon 5850 with 2GB of page buffer, and clocks of 700 (Core) / 1000 (Mem), and with support for the optimized professional drivers from AMD.  The accessories to be included can be negotiated.

New, on newegg, they are going for $620.  On ebay they seem to go for around $500-$700.  I know I won't get nearly that much, but if you have a serious offer or question, either post or PM.  I would like to receive BTC for this item, but will entertain offers in other currencies, fiat or crypto.  Item will ship from Oklahoma City area, packed in an anti-static bag, probably in a flat-rate USPS box with packing peanuts, or other packaging upon request.  I would rather not ship outside USA.

Also, I realize that since this is such a high value item, there is a lot of trust involved in both parties.  If buyers would kindly offer some indication of their reliability, or if sellers would like to suggest a good escrow service, I would appreciate it.  The ability to transact sales anonymously is a great feature of Bitcoins, but it is not a feature that I am looking to use in this sale.
