What i dont like in this subforum is that there is no stickythread at all that would give some security to bidders and auctioners. Some basic rules that have to be followed.
Something like that should be created.

That is hard to do, and such rule set should also include what is legitimate auction item, and what is not allowed - like auctioning volatile items (read cryptocurrencies).

Why is this hard to do?

A scammer tag for not selling it item in auction, instead selling it to highest payer ? LOL

1. Don't dilute the tag. There are bigger criminals around here who have more legitimate right to that tag.
2. Welcome to real world. Things get sold for highest price, and buyer chooses what to buy - that's about it. Don't like it ? Better luck next time. Really really want it ? Trump the offer. I see that tempt already said he will honor over 96 btc, right ? Go for it.

No one is going to take a loss for "honoring the code" in an internet forum where greed and lie galore.

And why are you sure that there is such an offer via pm and its no shill bidding? Or that the seller doesnt think the price is too low to sell it for this price now?
Anyway... the playingfield was set beforehand. This forum is made to not be able to scam by not being allowed to edit posts with bids. Bidding via pm is undergoing this. And its unfair to other bidders that doesnt even know that there was such offer or if there is such offer in reality.
Im not sure about the scammer tag because no one said before that handling it this way will be a scam. But there should be a rule that this isnt allowed and bids via pm are worthless.

Yeah, but what happens when an auctioneer does not honor the winner, like in this case? And what a bidder refuses to pay? Maybe a scammer tag is not appropriate, but a blacklist to the auction subforum should be enforced IMO

I'm a bit new here, so my posts don't show myself to be dedicated.  But I am dedicated in how I handle affairs and have plenty of references as well as a willingness to meet any "wierdo" from the internet.  Scammers are few and far apart but have a way of being noticed.

Second the tag request.

I've had a bad experience of this nature myself when trying to bid on an auction here, only to have the item sold out from under me by some PM offer:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1891324

If nothing is done when this happens, it diminishes the value of having auctions on the forums.

I do believe "Scammer" tag is in order here.  Undecided

Yes, please! This really put a sour taste in my mouth for BCT's auctions. I think based on the OP and the auction end time, I should have won both units. Perhaps, I was some grief in the end, by not having my bid honored...

Yes, I think this is not the first time OP does  this - correct?

Are there official rules for auctions in this thread? I didnt found a sticky about this.

Anyway... bidding via pm corrupts the whole purpose of this subforum. The bids placed in thread are binding, they cant be edited. A bid via pm doesnt exist. The auctioner could claim there are higher bids and no bidder could prove. This way shill bidding would become possible. Plus no other bidded can react on an offer placed by pm, because he dont know that its there.

In my opinion the playing field was set and cant be changed afterwards because someone thinks he found a trick to outbid every other bidder without risk of being outbid.

Maybe mods should say something about.

It's outrageous when somebody starts an auction and then sells the goods via PM. If you start an auction you have to honor its winner (and if you bid you have to honor your bid), otherwise all this is a joke. I think a scammer tag would be appropriate.

Agreed.

END OF AUCTION
BEFORE the end of Auction my highest offer was BTC92 X1
The only reason to disregard it would be that rules assumed a 1btc increments with no jumps in which case lets go back to the bid which followed those rules and let them win.
BUt if there were no rules of such then why is it not clear that I BID 79-92 Meaning 92 is my highest bid at undesirable time of the auction WELL before the end.,

I double checked all the given facts and provided information.

The last valid bid is mine.

79-92 means I am prepared to by 92 so why did people even try to go lower after that is beyond me... the only guess of mine was you had a rule about going by 1btc increments till the end so I jumped in however since it was broken at the end my first offer is validated and becomes the highest bid before the clock ran out. Also we were going by the count down clock not forum time so please lets all be far and you and I take 1 machine each as our bets were close.

No you cant just say I bid x-x  that sucks.

So its like I would say 1-500 and I would get the unit 5 minutes after the auction started

Grin You have used www.onnit.com timer module like myself. Friedcat made a good promotion for this site.  Grin
=P It's actually started by Matthew. I added the timer module at Friedcat's auction.

3 days is a lot of time left Tongue

Yep. OP knows very well what the last seconds of an auction may mean.
Also, that there's a limit stopping you from making too many bids in a short timeframe  Grin

have they shipped yet?  Would it be possible just to get Avalon to ship directly to the winner?

No, it is not possible. But we will do Escrow with John K.

Hi,

I offer my 2 Batch 3 orders from avalon.

The minimum Offer is 75BTC for each avalon.

The unit is going to be shipped to Germany.

You either bid XXBTC @ 1 or @ 2.

Timer removed. End time: 2013-04-26+16:00:00

Pictures of order will be shown via PM (I've posted them in last threads, but due to fear of DHL interception I do not post them public anymore)
