I've got a new cable version ready!  I will post pictures tomorrow.  1:10 all 18 AWG and a simpler, cleaner, solution than my competitors.    Smiley Smiley

Wolfey back to troll again for no apparent reason....  Undecided  Don't you have a job or something?  If you carefully read my post I was just asking for clarification.

What I found works with him is to wholeheartedly agree with his stupidest statement, then he'll call you names once more, and will leave you to troll on something else, happy that he "won" :-)

Just wanted to say - good job on these cables, there seems to have been a significant improvement from your first batch.

You might want to try making daisy-chained cables (from one barrel connector to next, instead of all originating at the the PCIe/Molex plug). This allows for better cable management. Would only work for scrypt mode, amperage might be to high for dual mining.

Thanks for the kind words and for your idea.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but wiring in series would cause the voltage to drop by 12/n, where n is the number of plugs in the line.

You're building and selling cable sets and you don't know the difference between series and parallel?
That's NOT good!  Shocked

Hey, don't forget who told you to use shrink wrap. Don't bite the hand that feeds you, Micky!
And, you wouldn't have asked that question IF you knew what the difference between series and parallel is or what they mean.
This is not good for someone who is building and selling cable sets for other people's rigs and I also note that you are using screw down coaxial connectors. That is why you put the 'strain relief' tape on them in the first place. It doesn't provide strain relief. Just covers up shoddy workmanship. Be honest!
My reason for saying this is to protect consumers from possible damage, or worse, to their mining equipment. I do not care to train you either, unless you want to mine for me for a few months. Wink
I bet you can do that without placing anyone else in danger, eh?

No, you would not be wiring in series, it's parallel, just branching out at a different spot. Like for example dual wall outlets in your house, voltage doesn't drop in these, does it? Smiley

I understand what you mean now thanks.  I will make a few today and see how they work.

I've added very clear pictures.  Now available are 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 gridseed molex adapters!

As per your suggestion, I ordered shrink tubing.  I agree it would look more professional and work better.  Thanks!

Good decision. I also saw your cables on eBay when looking for a way to power my gridseeds and the electrical tape and blurry photos turned me away  Undecided

yeah the blurry photos turned me away too, not to beat a dead horse here as I'm sure the OP means well Smiley

I got sick of trying to find the correct power supply for my new gridseeds - so I know there are more of you out there.  Are you moving from massive GPU mining rigs to gridseeds?  These auctions are for you.  Power your gridseeds with your already-owned power supplies!

I am selling power adapter cables to allow Gridseed 5 chip owners to power their gridseeds with their computer's power supply unit (PSU).  Check out the listings below.

1:1 for one gridseed 5-chip ASIC
One molex to one male DC power out:

http://r.ebay.com/Yrth1m

1:2 for two gridseed 5-chip ASICs
one 4-pin molex to two male DC power out:

http://r.ebay.com/WD3jxg

1:10 for ten gridseed 5-chip ASICs
One molex to ten male DC power out:

http://r.ebay.com/rJTeiF

Right now I only have 4 available but more are coming.

Please send me any questions.

That's some fairly shabby looking work there, man!
And what about that 10 way splitter? What is the wire gauge of each plug's cord?
10 GS5's pulling 600mA each = 6A. I know the power supply can probably handle it, but can those wires?
And that ugly electrical tape wrapping job. You gotta use shrink wrap like the pro's do before they will be worth what you're selling them for, I'm afraid.
What's the guarantee that comes with them?
Are you going to pay for their equipment if your stuff fails and burns up their miner/s?

Wolfey2014

Thanks for your comment.  I guarantee that these cables work well since I test them on my own gridseeds first Smiley

Currently I am selling splitters that convert 4-pin MOLEX 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3.  If you don't want the electrical tape then I can ship without it, but it prevents strain on the connection.

I actually recalled the 10-way splitter and I am making a nicer one coming soon!

No problem. Wink

Oh really?
Since when does electrical tape act as a 'strain relief'?
Not in my shop! I don't think in anybody elses either.
I'd convert to shrink wrap if I were you or some sort of 'real' strain relief collar.
Works better. Looks better. Looks professional! Wink
Or, just leave it off. No need for it anyway really. Unless it's a weak connection point in the first place.
w2014

Electrical tape really restricts the motion so the cable will live longer in the long run.

You are welcome!
It will work and look better. I guarantee it!
