So that the coin can move privately. If the first bits are shown, it is no longer 'anonymous', and the buyer may wish it to be so.

I believe it is to keep the original 1 BTC loaded by Casascius, original. Some people think it's funny to add a few satoshis to these rare coins.
Well one thing for sure...I would vouch for Anduck any day of the week.
