Sorry, I should have clarified. There used to be a special enclosure for laptops to have desktop video cards that were called ViDocks, this is the DiY-save-80$ version of the vidock. It comes pre made so you don't have to sauter anything, you simply plug in a couple of cables and a video card an boot the laptop up. You'll need an external screen to get the gpu performance in games but I'm pretty sure it would work fine for OpenCL with no screen or a Dummy plug in.

Used to use this piece of fine hardware attached to my laptop to run a gpu to play games on, I'm sure it could be used for mining. It's basically like 1x pcie connection that you can attach to a laptop with expresscard slot, or mpcie. It looks like now they have made an adapter for an add in card for mini hdmi to pcie 1x so you can use it on desktops to have external pcie 1x cards.

Pros - Can run a gpu for games or OpenCL processing on a laptop or external for desktop.
        - Small, good compatibility
        - Can take the noise away from your computer with a long enough mini hdmi cord for unlimited gpu stashing possibilites
        - No need to sand the end of the 1x slot to make a 16x card fit, it comes natively open

Cons -Need a power supply to power card and small pcb.
-Need to jumper psu to turn on(I have a jumper switch if you want it included)
-Doesn't play well with sleep mode

Here's a pic of a similar if not same model I have.

Originally bought it for 89$ shipped in 2010ish?

I'll consider offers over 1.4 BTC.

I'll even throw in shipping for only .5(shipping to US from my location costs 27-30$ for tracked)
