Thanks for your interest!  I'm an IT professional with nearly fifteen years of experience in a variety of fields.  I'm looking for some small one-off or contract work in exchange for Bitcoin.

What I've done:
  • Linux system administration with an emphasis on best practices and documentation of work
  • Security auditing and hardening of public-facing and internal servers
  • Management and coordination of developer teams
  • Management of the software development lifecycle, including transforming blue-sky brainstorming into functional software specifications, creation of simple mockups and prototypes, and actual implementation
  • Creation and maintenance of complex web-based applications in a variety of environments
  • Auditing of server performance & application scalability involving both fixed and dynamic load balancing

Some things I could do for you:
  • Help you transform that website idea into a functional specification that anyone can implement
  • Implement that functional specification
  • Review PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby and other code that others have written for best practices, security vulnerabilities and other oddities
  • Server security & performance audits
  • Web application security & performance audits
  • Setup of rock-solid server backups, on and off-site
.
What I don't like doing:
  • Skinning / basic HTML and CSS from scratch
  • Complex design work; I'm not an artist, the things I create are simple and functional
  • Working with SMF, osCommerce, Drupal and Joomla
  • Desktop support
  • Voice chat / voice support (skype, phone, etc)

I generally do work evenings, Pacific US time.  Work will only be performed once we agree on a light-weight statement of work.

Shoot me a PM to get started, or feel free to ask questions here.
