Since when did bitcoins have numismatic value? Roll Eyes

Just saying...

the Casascius coins have some value cause theyre the first coins made. Others have made follower coins but none of them have had the same appeal, or as much appeal.

A physical crypto marketplace would be pretty cool, or at least some type of public order book. I think having a thread here does not work all that well since it would need bumped often to be relevant.

Pretty much every attempt at a "universal casascius trading thread" hasn't worked.
Seems that you are right on that.
Though mistakes are a must for progress. And some mistakes turn out to be innovation or discovery.

I think that Casascius never intended to make those S2 0.5,  but here we are...

It's my pleasure, you are welcome to use the image. You could even mention that the coin is on sale with this topic details Wink

I have actually long thought about putting a section to the site for coin sales. People could make sell listings there in a centralized place, much more organized then on this forum. then I could direct the buyers to the sellers, and take a small cut. Do you think this would be successful?

Could be, but it'll be a massive hassle having to keep updating when new coins get listed and sold.

It could, but He already has all the coin variations on the book, and could automate this as entry-box on website.

I believe you are completely right with this idea.

You already made a good product that people use and everyone who's interested in coins have.
If your book would be downloadable with email opt-in box, you could have a worldwide Casascius fans email list.

I believe you mentioned that you will soon launch V.2 . So we all would need to renew..?

After you have the mailing list and time to work with it, you could help sellers and buyers.
At first with at sale email promotions, later with an actual website.

That's my advice;)

email list; thats an awesome idea. I need to look into this more! I hope to have V2 ready in January. Be very excited!

Just saying...

Casascius always has had numismatic value and probably always will, no matter what happens with Bitcoin...

Excellent coin, this is the highest grade of this that I have seen. I will be using this image in the next version of my Casascius coin guide, which can be found at www.coinfirm.org
I encourage everyone with an interest in these to check it out Smiley

If we are including bars, then most rare of all Casascius is the 500BTC bar.

I would love to have that .5 S2, but I just don't have enough coins to buy it.  Smiley

Glad you mentioned. I remember myself buying this topic specie , I also haven't enough BTC at that time, traded it to S1 1BTC (really good grade, almost best of my collection) together with digital BTC. Risked and Spent time and effort to grade it, none of this would happen without persistence..

So there always is a way as long as you can stay focused and reach it, be persistent.

I think that now is the time to make Rare coin purchases, because later on when BTC will hit next run-up it could be just too late.

Took your advice, delivery is now FREE.

I justify the raise, these coins are really rare. If I remember right, only the Gold Bars >100BTC are more scarce?

Don't forget about this little gem...

I've also heard rumors from 0.5 S2 Silvers owners those ungraded will be sold at minimum of 20BTC

I'll actually be raising the price for my series-2 silver halfs from 20 BTC to 25 BTC in the new year.

I don't understand how shipping costs .15 btc. It's a small coin.

If this is your concern you are probably not a potential buyer of a $10,000 coin.

Agreed, although to be fair I'd expect free shipping if I were to spend 25 BTC on a coin. But hey, not my thread Smiley

I think that is an equally reasonable position...lol

Probably insurance?

I just want It to reach you safely and fastly.

This is price of overnight/two day shipping (UPS/DHL) from Europe to US. You choose shipping type, I do not calculate extra.

That's my suggestion due to experience of thousands international sales on eBay.

Hope I have helped?

Star Wars Ep. 9 is here
Quite an impressive coin you have.  Curious what it sells for, as I believe its the best known example out there.

Anyone know what the last MS66 went for?
