If you are required to switch from IDE/SATA to AHCI or RAID, you are required to install the drivers in windows before they will work..

Like you said they work for a minute and BSOD... That is due to your windows not having the AHCI/RAID drivers installed....

My last motherboard a Asus Crosshair 4 Formula allowed me to have 4 ports assigned to AHCI/RAID and 2 ports assigned to IDE but with my MSI GD70 board wont allow me to set it up like the crosshair board.

IMO, Your having driver issues, the drives are fine....... worse case we can RMA together through Patriot or I'll refund your money.....

Just so you know, I always ran these drives under raid mode, Never IDE or AHCI....

prior to them being shipped I formatted them while still in "Raid" mode..... every time I would try and switch to IDE or AHCI my computer would crash due to my array....  (different array)

I see you received the drives..... I forgot to mention that 1 of the drives has the newest firmware on it, but they both need to be flashed.

Thanks

How much for them?

I would give around $40-45 in bitcoin shipped for 1.

I got a 120 gig one for $70 that went down to $55 half a week later but was a sata2 ssd lol.

Drives are about a year old... They have 3 year warranty total.... had them in raid without issue. Upgraded to something bigger..
