In life, the value of something lies in the eye of the beholder.

If I were a female high class prostitute and charged $1,000 an hour for my services...then whomever agrees to it sees the same value.
A non-client unfamiliar with this industry might say: "$1,000? Huh No way!!! I could get the same thing for $20 across the corner. Grin

We can just buy a domain at Namecheap at a very cheap price. We dont even need to use Weebly, just download Wordpress and it will work better than Weebly. Wordpress have lot of plugins and themes. I dont think CCJ worth 0.5 Bitcoin.

Installing WordPress usually requires you to sign up to a paid hosting contract. WordPress.com is free but it doesn't allow ads (instead they place their own). There are free hosts out there but they're not very good and most have ads (not yours but theirs).

Gotta agree. Free host is not good. Not only do they have their own Ads, sometime they also prevent us from using SMTP function. I'm a Namecheap fan, so.. please let me advertise Namecheap here again. Well, I bought a full year hosting for just $7 USD in January. It actually cost around $10 USD - I used a coupon to get 30% discount. Well, it might be a cheap host but it is working good for me. Calculating all the amount invested to create a new website.. It is around $15 dollar for a year. 15% of what bitboy11 is looking for.

I see that you are using a-ads. What is the profit per week? Even if it's a small amount like 50 cents, I'm curious. Send me a PM if you don't want to post it here.

And where are the jokes? When I visited your site, all I could see were articles and pictures of altcoins... Huh

I've used a number of different publisher sites in the past couple of months, so it is unclear what the exact profit is. I would average it around $0.50 per week. The thing is...the site costed nothing to build and currently has no monthly expenses.

As far as the jokes are concerned, you can see in my signature that the focus is really "Funny Articles", so the jokes are in the content of the articles, pictures and videos on the site. If anyone wants to buy the site, they can feel free to add a "jokes" page. I see a lot of potential for the site but I don't have a team to handle or manage all of these things.

That's actually higher than I had expected. I've used a-ads in the past and was able to make barely over 5 cents. I agree about the potential thing. Weebly is OK, and there are blogs hosted on Blogger (another free website creation platform) which have been quite successful in the past but the site would look more professional and attractive to potential buyers with a nicer template and without the Weebly branding.

Anyway, good luck with your sale. Smiley

No Offence but it seems it's worth ~$10 - $20
I say this because it's not fully working, seems incomplete
Weebly based..

So in my opinion nothing more than $20

No offence taken! Wink
It is a basic site for sure but has so much more potential if somebody wanted to expand on it.
I don't see what the problem is with Weebly. It's a platform that I started with before I understood Html.
It even offers an Html editor now and since I happen to like it, I'm going to continue to use it in the future.

$20 is a fair assessment of its raw value as the publisher revenue from the a-ads network and others have barely grossed that figure. However, CCJ has generated $30 in Fourerr & Fiverr banner gigs. This means that the site has earned almost $50 in total and yet people say it's not worth its salt.

But what about potential value? Doesn't that play a factor in it?
I remember a story where Google offered to buy a company for about 200 million dollars but the owner who reported that the company only generated something like 30 million in revenue after an entire year wanted over a billion dollars for it. Cheesy Still he was offered 200 million, which goes to show that Google saw potential in it, probably not in its current layout or strategy, but with a few modifications or through greater advertising and promotion which only they could make possible with their financial backing.

That has been made very clear by everyone so far... but it doesn't matter to me.
The sentimental value to me is $100. I don't sell anything I make for less than $100. Grin
How much BTC do you think it is worth?

The TLD is sort of neat.. But I don't really value that site at anywhere's near what you are asking for it.

My advice to you would be to get a real host and develop the site into something lucrative and then sell it.
You could basically make 10x what you are asking for the site if you put a little more effort into it and its content.
Good luck with selling your site.. But I'd honestly hold onto it and polish it into something worth while.

I understand that you're trying to give me advice on how to better monetize it.
The simple fact of the matter is that I have other business-related sites which I promote and make a good income from although they are not bitcoin-related.

My point here is that CCJ was a pet project for me and only took 3 afternoons to build and now that the domain is about to expire, I will be retiring the site soon. I am offering it in case anyone wants it. All it takes is probably one marketing person with 20,000 Twitter followers and this site could probably become something more significant. Since I have no desire to pursue this, I am willing to either sell it or retire it.

Somebody commented that $100+ for a Weebly site is not worth it. I have personally seen Weebly sites sell for well over $1,000 in the past on Flipper and much lamer sounding domains auction at even higher prices at GoDaddy.

A few others commented that the current traffic statistics show that it's not currently worth the price. Grin
Duh!!! Roll Eyes
That's like saying if I wanted to sell a baseball bat to you and you ask me how many home-runs has it made so far?
"None!"
Then the bat is not worth anything yet...LOL Cheesy

Anyway, it doesn't matter.

Can adsense be use in your site since it is from weebly?

It can be used but I wanted to use bitcoin-related publishers only even though their pay is significantly lower.

If your site had a large following which could generate decent revenue I could understand the high price, but asking 0.5BTC for a drag and drop website with average traffic and a low CTR is ridiculous.

Either way, good luck selling.

As I stated in the OP, I don't promote it anywhere!
Its only traffic source is referral traffic.
I created it solely for my own amusement and to show to my family and friends, not for a business.
In the end, it doesn't matter whether it sells or not, I'll just retire it when the domain expires and keep it in my portfolio of over 15 websites that I created in the past.

$115 for weebly created website? are you serious?

Sure I'm serious!
What's wrong with a weebly site?
It's got all the html files, if you want you can easily download & transfer all the files to any server you want.
If the site has the potential to make money, what's a $115?
